Wow.. kipper isn't looking too hot tonight either....
This game is wild...and souray might be a pilon, but that pilon has an amazing shot.. I am so glad he switched back to his old stick..
-
This is not good. I had a bad feeling today that the flames were going to get their PP going, and the refs are giving them lots of chances...
-
LOL, three hits and picks by calgary.. no call, ryder hits someone.. in the box...
It has always amazed me how Calgary gets away with all the dirty crap.
-
ugly shift by the first line there.. several chances to get it out, horrible coverage...
woot.. way to go bonk.. I am liking the bonk / johnson pairing..
-
Heh, game eight of last year's playoffs?
Make that five now... just toying with Philly. Passing it around like men playing with boys....
Buffalo is the team to beat in the East, no question...
opps, six now....

No way, it was a solid hit and he was just finishing his check. If it has been the other way around, you'd be saying what a great hit it was by Downey. There was nothing wrong with that hit. Whats Reghr suppose to do? Crouch so his shoulder doesn't hit his head? I don't like that Downey was milked and has no idea where he is right now and will probably miss signifcant time, but that was a great hit. Scott Stevens like. LEts see Komiarek lay out somebody like that
The league has made it very clear that you cannot take a head shot when you have the guy lined up. He is supposed to make an attempt not to hit the head. He had that lined up and he came up to the head. He didn't have to do that.
And for the record, several habs have been called sinced the lock out for the very same play. Guys have also been suspended for that. I won't be surprised if that is reviewed by the league.
-
in other news, the sabres are amazing...
Did you just see that 4th goal... watch for it on the replays tonight... just sick
-
sheesh, sounds brutal
More accurately..ugly....
-
this game is going to get ugly in a hurry, and the refs have themselves to blame.
Let's hope no one gets hurt
-
Wow, every time Calgary gets dirty, the habs go short handed...
-
Brutal calls.. kipper definitely interfered on that play on purpose.
This is a joke. Well, apparently head hunting is okay in this game.. put lats out there against iginla...
-
I don't like the way Huet is reacting after goals this season. He always throws his head in disgust. Last year, he was calm and steady even after one got by him.
I think he is feeling the pressure this year, and that is not a good thing!
-
This reffing is brutal.. they head hunt on downey and get a pp. now, they get another one...
so.. 3 man advantages for the flames already.. I guess the refs want to make sure they break out of their slump....

RDS doesn't have HD.
Montreal does not have an HD truck. The only HD truck is in Toronto (big surprise).
The only way to get Habs in HD are when they play Toronto (will be on CBC HD, since all Leaf games are), or when they are playing in the US arenas which have HD (many of them) AND the game is on TSN or Sportsnet.
For RDS to show them next year, they need to get an HD truck for the home games and get a HD channel in the Cable or Satellite lineup.
We have been lucky so far that the Philly game was in HD on TSN and the Habs/Leaf game was in HD.
It sure is hard to watch the SD channel on the big screen, especially with some of the additional compression they do on Expressvu.. Hurts the eyes!

If we had Sundin as number 1, Koivu as number 2, this team would be a contender.
-
I only care about losing Ribs because of what we got back, not much. Yes, a vet defenseman helps, but who seriously thought that getting another 5/6 defenseman was the biggest hole we had.
If we traded Ribs and a young gun for a real top center I could understand, but so far, we are hurting down the middle.
It is still early, but Pleks does not look like a number two guy (he never has either). I am not sure how much Ribs could fix the Kovalev problem, but clearly Pleks is not the answer either. From what I can see, Gainey is going to need to make a move at some point to get another center.
We would be a far better team with Pleks back at the number 3 spot, with Bonk on the 4th, Begin on his wing. IMO.
-
Well, Huet sure looks easy on shoot outs. Ottawa didn't even put their top guns out.
-
Holy 5 hole....
-
I don't understand their strategy tonight.. they played that OT like they wanted a shootout. Against Ottawa? Yikes...
-
Are they playing for a shootout? They don't seem at all interested in offense...
-
what's with the leafs???
they're supposed to stink this year.... :?- :?- :?-
Well, the Habs are suppose to suck every year too. There is parity now and if the Leafs young guns play well (and they are), they can make the playoffs.
-
Wow.. finally Sammy gets it going. Lets hope that is the start of many nice ones!
-
Sure doesn't look like the Habs are trying to come back... Mostly Ottawa..
Althought Bonk and Johnson just about tied it up..
-
Nice fight, have not seen one of those in some time.

Huet is 4 - 14...
That is not going to help the old save percentage... Those are Theo numbers.... Ack.. !
