  1. OK PEOPLE....U WAIT AND SEE HOW MUCH OF A 5TH OR 6TH DEFENSEMAN BOULLION IS! THIS GUY IS A TOP DEFENSEMAN....SOME PPL ARE STILL BLINDED BY THE LABEL HE USED TO HAVE however...i could be wrong...so we can only wait and see.
  2. All this jibber jabber about who is the best defenseman on the team is awesome considering boullion was pegged for a 6th or 7th dman early in his career. Personally...i think that boullion brings more to the table than markov or souray does...especially in the new NHL. Souray: Great Leader! Booming shot from the point...has good poise and confidence on the ice...obviously a threat on the power play...and defensivly he needs to work out a few kinks. Markov: Such a mysterious player. Many say he is underrated, however many also say he is overrated. I think markov will always live in that gray area between being a great defensman and an elite defenseman unless he has a change in attitude. that is not to say he has a bad attitude, but i dont think hes as much of a go-getter or a "put ur life on the line" type of guy like souray is. And so far this year, in my mind, he has not flourished like i thought he would (even tho hes leading the team in points ) heheh. If i could tell markov one thing it would be to be more aggressive. Boullion: Speaking of aggression, this guy is the ultimate machine. I think hes the best hitter on the team (not the hardest hitter (komi)) He can lay out hard hits, and he is fast and smart enough to pick his spots so he doesnt get burned. This guy is our fastest defenseman, smartest(in my mind), and hes got great heart. for Kozed...u usually write smart and thought out posts...until i read that boillion is not an offensive threat cuz his shot isnt hard enough lol U confuse me sometimes. That is a limiting way of thinking, like " he cant play in the NHL cuz he is too short"....look how that turned out for St.louis, briere...etc. all in all its gonna be a huge gain for the team to get cube back and i personally think he should play with souray as he can make up for sourays odd defensive laps with his speed and intelligence... and they would be both deadly offensivly. Plus, then boullion wont have to use his weak shot ...he can let souray do the shooting This would be my line up (disregarding side) Markov Komi Souray Cube Dany Streit Even tho i know they wont scratch rivet
  3. Koivu does seem to make anyone he plays with better, but maybe ryder just needs a change in scenario to give him a jump start. Maybe put him on a line with ppl who play at a slower pace, and put zhogs back with koivu and see if they can reunite the chemistry they had start of last season. Higgins is still on the shelf in this line up: Lats Koivu Perezhogin Kosty Kovalev Samsonov Ryder Bonk Johnson Plekanec Begin Murray
  4. Im not sure...i live in sudbury. Why do u ask?
  5. Thoughts, hmmm.....its 8:01 in the morning and my page is still blank
  6. He is definitely one of the best skaters on the team...and his pass is hard and accurate...always seems to make smart decisions and his shot is amazing get bob on the phone
  7. Jonathan D'Aversa of sudbury wolves...he had a tryout this year with an NHL team. didnt work out tho He is a better all round defenceman for the wolves than marc stall is, has a lot of offence, but stall has more potential.
  8. Shit ya knew i was forgetting someone....so Markov Komi Souray Boullion Dandenault Streit They would be much better with rivet and ninnimaa out...
  9. Not in any specific order Markov Souray Boullion Dandenault Streit Someone other than rivet or ninimaa Ninimaa has potential to be a good defenseman...but his head is up his ass...i hope he gets traded Rivet has heart...and hes a leader...but we can do without him...he seems lost all the time, except on a beakaway lol Streit is awesome....he wouldnt be captain of a national team if he couldnt play hockey...and hes got confidence now Boullion is amazing...our best defenseman. I know all u nay sayers will say markov is far and wide better....but from what ive seen the past 2 years...boullion is a defensive, offensive, hitting, skating machine with no mental troubles..i think markov will never meet his premier expectations Markov- That being said...markov is still a great defenseman Souray- His defensive lapses are greatly outweighed by the other things he does for this team, scoring and Leadership Dandenault has fit in very well...i think he has finally adjusted and he knows how to be successfull everynight...may not be on the score sheet..but he is a solid, sound defenseman who i think can chip in at least 5 goals and 20 assists Come next year....hopefully one of Emelin or Obyrne will be Ready to take the plunge in to the big show....or perhaps jancevski improves enough to earn a spot
  10. Man...this guy has heart. he is probably the only guy on the team that wouldnt bitch to the media if he is moved down lines...sent down or whatever. In my opinion...he has been one of the better forwards on the team since the start of the season, along with koivu, ryder, higgins, bonk, and johnson. Even when demoted to the fourth line, he was working as hard as ever and controlling the puck in the offensive zone well. This guy is just too hard to contain...hes big...and fast which is a lethal combo. Some ppl complain about his attitude...but hes gone through enough bullshit..and overcame it all my mind as he is showing he can be a force. I have a feeling that is telling me that carbo didnt want samsonov to keep bitching...so he moved a player to the fourh line who would take it the best...and still have a smile on his face and play hard. Personally...i would have kept the 3rd line as it was......amazing Zhogs better not be on the fouth line against TOronto that being said...they will still whop TOs ass
  11. The only thing they r victims of are kovalevs cockyness. This guy thinks he owns everything. I am not really against cockyness...but it has to be of worthy cause. One thing....kovalev is not a leader...regardless of the fact he captained russia. He thinks he is better than everyone else....even tho he is, its not a good attutude to have, as he puts no effort in trying to make ppl around him feel comfortable like saku does. And i know this from experience....i can feeel cocky and confident at times, but i feel like a true leader, who is taking things in the right direction, when i make ppl around me feel comfortable. One game, plex went to the net and someone cranked him and punched him in the face, and obvioously he got pissed and yelled and skated towards the guy.....kovalev just grabbed plex by the face and pushed him back and plex fell over the ref...u dont ever expect ur own teammate to do that..especially a vet, and supposed leader. If saku were in that situation he would maybe hold plex back...but talk to him and say cool down buddy its all good lets get them back on the score sheet. I could be wrong...this is just my opinion which i back very strongly...and it seems carbo does as well as kovys got no A on his jersey nemore....seems to me the only reason it was given to him was to try to give him a confidence boost. I like kovalev..dont get me wrong...i like everyone on this team...we got something special here. Carbo is doing a good job handling situations and i really hope he figures kovalev out..cuz if he does... kovalev could easily get 100 points in my mind with the skill set he has
  12. I listened to only a small part of the game...and i think the " TSN" turning point (HAHAHA) waas when souray hit the post...seconds later drury stole puck from markov (who hasent impressed me at all this year) and scored. Would have been a totally different game had souray put it in. with all his defensive lapses...he is taking control of what he can control...his offense.
  13. I am very glad to see perezhogin playing well...as he is one of my favorite habs. He is rounding into a more mature version of the dynamic Zhogs we saw at the start of last season when he played with saks and kovy. I think samsonov is still trying to find his groove, hes got the skill to do it, but i think he needs to find the right players that will allow him to gel quicky.... Samsonov is totally not gellin Kovalev likes to slow the play down and go laterally alot, and plekanec, even tho he is a fast skater, doesnt play as much of a run and gun style that sergie does. The ppl best suited to play with samsonov in my opinion are guys like koivu (who makes anyone he plays with better), perezhogin (who i think can play any role), and the guy who i think possibly suits him well would be kosty (call him up). Then possible lines could look something like this: Higgins Koivu Ryder Perezhogin Plekanec Kovalev Latendresse Bonk Johnson Samsonov Begin Kostitsyn Line 1: Self Exlanitory....these guys just click with each other Line 2: Kovalev was kind of a mentor to Zhogs last season, and they played well together as zhogs, in my mind is a blend of a power forward who can win many battles along the boards and dig out pucks for kovy to shoot, and a quick, finesse, skill player who can finish his own plays (3 posts so far). As well plekanec and zhogs played amazing together in the playoffs last year. The line seems much more balanced this way Line 3: Considering Bonk has found his old form, so far, and johnson is as steady as i expected, if not better, i think putting Lats on this line will give him a good start to his transition from checking line duites to scoring line duties. This will give him more offensive opportunities so we can get a better glimpse of what this kid can do. And if this works out well, he can keep slowly moving up the ladder. Line 4: As much as i dont believe Sergie is a 4th line player, the way he is playing right now he doesnt belong on the second, although i am not trying to condemn him, its just other players, like young guys, have been better than him so far. And as long as we roll 4 lines, this doesnt have to be a "4th line", it can be another secondry scoring line if it clicks. I believe begin can play in any of the bottom 3 lines, he has really rounded out into a good all round player. And calling up kostitsyn will see if he can strutt his stuff, and with the likes of sergie and steve, these guys may just surprise. But whatever the lines may be.......ALL THE WAY THIS YEAR BABY!!\ GO HABS GO!!!
  14. i noticed a few ppl saying the habs drove 17 hours to chicago...is that true NHL teams fly to most places
  15. I was just gonna say the same thing....i saw it through the whole preseason..and again today It seems odd
  16. Im am in utter disbelief about how brain dead dumpsamsonov is You really need a reality check man.... the world hates u doesnt it
  17. good thing we have optimistic fans here.....cuz they greatly overshadow ur foolish attempts at habs analysis come to think of it, u should get a job as an analyst for TSN. Also, u poo on some one and tell them to learn how to understand what they are reading before making comments..... Howbout u LEARN how NOT to be a hypocrit, and maybe LEARN how to UNDERSTAND to READ things, for example when carbo said if guy is staying with the team, he will be here ALL YEAR, before making ur expert analysis! Lats is doing a great job so far on the fourth line.
  18. What kind of drugs are you taking....they must be good. Where do i find some
  19. i dont know what the ###### happened......more than half my post got cut off....I HATE STUPID 26K INTERNET I HAVE AT CAMP...I PUT SO MUCH EFFORT INTO THAT GODDAMN POST.....lets see if the boys can match my effort when the play the flying poo nuggets on wednesday Quiet down u.....and all the other ppl badmouthing my thread....its supposed to be early season standouts. obviously u cant judge a person by 2 lowsy games....but i wanted an interesting thread that talked about all the players and their production in the first 2 games, or lack of. Im sick of the same old threads like " Rivet...another Dman under fire" or "what should we do with souray" ...i mean how many interesting posts can be made for those types of threads. And who the ###### cares about rivet hahaha(kidding) Thats why i made this one...and it would have been interesting if my starting post didnt get cut off. so can u thread critics please chill B)
  20. Who has stood out to you, both in a good or a bad way? Bad: Samsonov- he has so much potential, speed and skill...he just doesnt seem to have his head in the game and is trying to do too much with his speed...barring the fact that its early, i have faith he will get his head back on straigt and just play great hockey Murray- Hes not that bad...just doesnt really do much out there...i would call kostitsyn up Ninimaa- I can see the skill is still there...his head is just up his butt right now...he looks totally unconfident with the puck... i really hope he gets his confidence back as he would be deadly...i think the best solution would be to pair him with markov as his mistakes wouldnt be as noticed and he would be able to build that confidence back....i would say markov is the best bet to pair with someone who isnt feeling confident Good: KOIVU: HES GREAT! Im hoping for 30 goals from this guy..hes got the stuff and the new attitude to do it. What eye? Higgins: Holy shit this guy drank 5 red bull and took horse steroids before the games. I had my doubts about his, always knew he would be solid, but i didnt think he would be a leader or this good as many ppl predicted, wow was i wrong. This guy could get 60-70 pointsn this year...especially with koivu and ryder who looks to be playing better, by his side Perezhogin: MY BOY!!!! I am so happy this guy has found his motivation. He has so much mojo and potential, not to mention he is a beast now at over 200, and skates like hes on fire. This guy is a spark plug on the third line and allows bonk to play well as ppl are all over zhogs. in the game against the Leafs he had 3 guys on him around the net....pushed through them all and still got a shot off and johnson had an open net. I heard someone say he should replace samsonov on the second line....I AGREE!! Bonk: He seems better...thats all im going to say for now. Kovalev: I wasnt gonna put him in either section, but i gotta say he mertits a spot in this section for his work ethic...he seems different this year...i can see how carbo has broken a few motivational barriers with him as he is giving up on pucks alot less than last year..and when his is fighting for it...he usually gets it Dandenault: He seems to be a steady Dman who will be very versitile this year...showing his speed as he is jumping up into the play alot. he is also using his body....which is big....hehe Huet and Aebisher: both played great...any doubts i have about our goaltending situation have diminished...it is still early on tho so it is not a sign of what is to come Honorable mentions to Johnson who is playing well, Lats who doesnt look out of place, just building his confidence..which is awesome, Komisarek who is continuing his steady progress (dont think he will be as good as some think tho), and ryder who is....SKATING...FINALLY. Souray is also playing good enough for my approval. and how could i forget Steve Begin...his is how he he always was.
  21. Who has stood out to you, both in a good or a bad way? Bad: Samsonov- he has so much potential, speed and skill...he just doesnt seem to have his head in the game and is trying to do too much with his speed...barring the fact that its early, i have faith he will get his head back on straigt and just play great hockey Murray- Hes not that bad...just doesnt really do much out there...i would call kostitsyn up
