I hope Carbo skates em til they puke tomorrow. That should be a trend until they decide they'd rather skate hard in games than at practice.
-
That was a pathetic display.

:puke: :puke: :puke: :puke: :puke:

Very little pressure in the Toronto zone...bad pace. Typical Habs 1st period.
-
No reason that we shouldn't win this one by a couple of goals...all it takes is a good effort. Not even a great effort, just a good one...and a touch of discipline with regards to taking penalties.
-
are any all star games much of a game anymore?
Only the MLB all-star game, now that home field for the World Series is at stake.
-
man, 7 million for datsyuck??
Maybe Crosby in 4-5 years if he's scoring 150 pts a year.
I'd pay that for Crosby NOW.

This is what I don't get: if you were miserable at your job and felt your boss treated you unfairly, you'd quit and work elsewhere. Why is it so bad when an athlete wants to change his place of employment?
-
I don't care for the Canucks at all...but...I root for them anytime they play any of our Eastern Conference rivals. For that matter, I root for ANY team from the Western Conference when they're playing one of our Eastern Conference rivals!

devil's advocate or other perspective here....
would kovalev's consistent inconsistency be a negative influence on latendresses's development?
just a thought...
GO :hlogo: GO!
It might actually have the opposite effect. Gui could look over and say to himself "Okay, Kovy's asleep tonight...so it's up to me to take over." Gui accepts more of a leadership role, pushes himself a lil' bit harder, and before you know it...he's developing in leaps and bounds.

That win was HUUUUGE.

WOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!

Helluva pass from Kovalev to Plekanec.
-
Well, time to find out what this team's made of. Do they go back at Buffalo hard, or do they fold?
-
Habs need to set a very fast pace to start this period, to take advantage of the fact that the Sabres played last night. At the very least, it should result in some power plays as tired Sabres start grabbing and hooking.
-
Not one mention of Plekanec and another multi point game, you guys really don't appreciate that guy. He is doing a hell of a job centering the second line when people used to call him cement hands and everyone blamed the second line problems on him.
He has improved, no doubt. But that doesn't change how awful he was the first two months of the season...he really did play like his hands were encased in cement in the offensive zone for quite awhile! Glad to see he is finally loosening the grip on his stick and getting the puck to do what he wants it to. Nobody would be happier than me if this guy was able to contribute offensively on a regular basis...but...I need to see a lil' bit more of this improved play out of him before I'm sold.
-
Before I forget, I'd like to take my share of the credit for Huet's impressive performance tonight. Knowing the Habs needed a big game from Huet, I sold him in my hockey pool yesterday. As is always the case, the guy I sold had a BIG night the next day.
You're welcome.

It'll be interesting to see if this team has any pride.
-
Great news....I hope Downey is next. If we're going to use a roster spot on a fighter, we should at least get one that can win a damn fight.
-
The stats don't tell the whole story. There was a lack of hustle, some boneheaded penalties, and only a couple of guys finishing checks.
-
Like I've said before, I miss the good ole days when we had a core group of people who didn't give up all faith in everyone when things weren't going well. If you people haven't noticed, this is how the NHL works these days. Winning and losing streaks are much more pronounced than they used to be.
It's not just that we're losing...it's how we're losing. Losing games where you played pretty well is fine...that's the normal ebb and flow of a season. But to have damn near the whole team not show up and get beaten so soundly? That's a whole different story.
-
If so then let's face facts - Kovalev should have been benched WAAAY before Rivet.
Kovalev could definitely use a benching...but Rivet has been pretty much useless all damn season...so no, I can't agree with that.
-
I would list all the things the Habs did wrong in that game, but I'm too lazy to type that much. Far easier to list what was good about that game:
Lats controlling the puck.
Lapierre throwing the body.
There, that's it...I can sum up what was good about the Habs tonight in those eight words. All else was either mediocre or flat out bad.
-
Time to pull the trigger on a trade...for sure. This is not just a little slump...this team has quit.

What a difference when everyone is skating hard.
