The 1993 Cup win is the one that stands out for me: those overtimes probably took a few years off of my life, but well worth it!!! I was in Montreal to watch the clincher at a sports bar...what an incredible atmosphere to be in at 18 years old!!!

I didn't mention Bonk because he has been so solid defensively for most of the season. He's upped his offense, but he has always been a big contributor with his work on the PK.

There are a few Habs who have raised their level of play significantly since the playoffs started. Most notable IMO are: Perezhogin Zednik Plekanec These guys have had some great sequences cycling in the offensive zone...very strong on the puck. It's great to see Zed starting to play like we know he can play...now if he'd just crash the net with reckless abandon more often, we'll really be rocking and rolling with this line. Hopefully our captain follows their example soon....at that point, I'll really like our chances at a DEEP run into these playoffs. P.S. I didn't name Kovalev, because he always looks good out there.

Love the Kovalev quote...this guy has definitely evolved into a great leader.

I'm not afraid of Buffalo...we're a lot quicker than the Flyers...Philly's plodding nature is what's getting them killed thus far. NJ is a tough opponent...BUT...I think that we can take them. Remember, we pretty much owned them for 2 out of 3 periods the last time we played. With a 60 minute effort rather than 40, that game would have been a decisive win rather than a tragic defeat. Ottawa, playing the way they are now, seem like a desireable opponent. But dont' forget the explosive team that you saw in the third period of game 1 in that series. They are capable of playing like that for 3 periods when they bring their 'A' game, and when they bring their 'A' game, I don't think there's a team in the league that can take them in a 7 game series.

Watching Craig Rivet miss the net by a country mile on a few power plays, it was obvious that we need Souray and his cannon of a shot out there. Team doc needs to pump a cc or two of lidocaine into the ol' sack and get Souray out there for game three!!!!

Joe is a great player...would have loved to see him in a Habs jersey!

Posting late today....was stuck watching the game smack dab in the middle of LeafsLand, so I'll post a brief summary of my thoughts: First period was amongst the best I've seen the Habs play. Second period was hands-down the WORST I've seen them play Third period: That tying goal was Gainey's fault. How do you not have two centers on the ice in that situation??? Overtime: YAHOO!!!!!

What a thorough drubbing....and the incredible thing is....we have the potential to be even better!!! Still a few guys who aren't going yet. GO HABS GO!!!!

That's what happens when you only play hard for two periods....I'm disgusted beyond words right now.

My favorite spot to eat when I visit Montreal in the nice-but-not-too-fancy category is Bombay Palace on Ste. Catherine St. Very good Indian food ( I always get cocktail kebabs, tandoor chicken, and naan bread, washed down with Cheetah beer), and low prices for the quality of the food.

Damn right this game matters!!! It's important for Koivu to wake up...after some improved play, he's gone to sleep again in the past few games. It's also important for some guys to step up and start hitting...just haven't had the same energy level since Begin went down. Timely pinches from the D-men have to start happening again too. If we can have both the Koivu and Kovalev lines rolling, and the team playing in unison as they did against Toronto in the back-to-back games, we can make a serious run deep into the playoffs with good goaltending.

Now, the pressure is off.... ...so, I think we'll play even better against Jersey!

Well said...Harry Neale makes me want to :puke: But, we're most likely going to get stuck with him if we play Ottawa in the first round.

I think Huet will walk if he gets an offer that is for significantly more money from another team...he'd be a fool not to. Having fans chant your name doesn't pay your bills.

Hard to have faith when Bonehead Bob leaves Huet on the bench for the whole game, and Kovalev on the bench for too much of the game.

We need to get that point against Buffalo...New Jersey is just scary good lately.

If the Montreal Canadiens ever put a lowlife scumbag like Todd Bertuzzi on the roster, I will have to give serious thought to taking down all of the Habs gear around my place, boxing it up, and burying it deep in storage until he's off the roster. I'd have to be a Sens fan for awhile I guess. That's how strongly I feel about Bertuzzi.

I'd rather play Carolina if Hasek is back for the Sens. Come to think of it, without Cole in the lineup, I think I'd rather play the Canes regardless.

That goal turned out to be big....B's get one.
