That period was pure crap. You'd think someone just roused them from a nap and forced them onto the ice or something.
-
Huge win...Monty needed that badly.

It's too early to anoint Dobes the starter. However, it's not too early to give him more frequent chances to show us if he can continue his strong play. I am fine with giving him every 3rd game for the next while, then upping it to every 2nd game if he continues his strong play. THEN, if he's still outplaying Monty, we have a serious look making him number one. The sample size is just too small to do anything drastic. That changes if Monty has a bad stretch though...I'm all about a meritocracy in the crease.

That was a hell of a bounceback effort. Even with the bad bounces early, they didn't fold...they just kept working. Showing signs of a team that has matured mentally.

Everything that could go wrong did go wrong for 2 periods; bad luck, Woll with flat-out robberies, a parade to the penalty box, and the return of 'Montemblow' on 2 of the Leaf goals.
I hope this doesn't trigger a skid.

4 unanswered...disgusting.
-
They ####ed that up in a hurry.

Dallas drove the play in the 2nd, but on the bright side, we weathered the storm unscathed.

I want to strangle Matheson sometimes! 😡

Newhook just isn't 2nd line material...he blows so many golden opportunities. That line is going to look so much better next season with Demidov in Newhook's place.

I doubted my ability to stay up until the end of this game coming off of only 4hrs of sleep last night. Hutson's brilliance has ensured that my eyes will stay wide open for every second of this game.
-
Hutson set that up so well.
-
Been a bit unlucky with hitting posts, but this 2nd period has been very good. If they play the 3rd like the second, this game will be a W
-
A good effort against a very strong opponent considering the fatigue factor playing back-to-back.
-
The giant killers strike again. Bring on Dallas...the Stars are due for a loss, and we are just the team to deliver that loss.
-
I think if we can stay out of the box in the 3rd, our chances for a W are very good.

Could be missing a few more
Protas and McMichael have both taken big steps in their development too, making major contributions. That along with the additions accounts for a big boost over last season, so I'm not buying the notion that they aren't vastly improved.

Very tough match-up tonight (I think the Caps maight be the best team in the league this season)...but we've won a bunch of those lately, so I'm more optimistic than I usually would be. Will need some lucky breaks and for Dobes to be lights-out to get a W.
-
That was a very entertaining game to watch. Hutson is going to have the Calder locked down well before season's end if he keeps playing like this.

Primeau should be nervous, Dobes is looking good so far.
If Dobes remains healthy, Primeau should stay in Laval for the remainder of the season.

Hell of a win! Dobes continued to shine, and Caufield stayed red hot. I didn't think Dach had a great game, but he came through when it mattered most. Armia did some solid work keeping MacKinnon in check.

It seems like dumb penalties lead to goals against at a higher rate than run-of-the-mill penalties.

The team stinks tonight, but that's two weak goals Monty has given up already.
