    Nah..

Give Drouin and Dadonov top 6 ice time, give them a ton of PP time.

Then deal them at the deadline with 50% retained salary.

You could get a return as good or better than the Lehkonen deal at that point.

Trade hoffman now... but the guys with just one year on their deals... pump em up first and then dump em.

Sound strategy for Dadonov...but...are we seriously still pretending that Drouin could play well enough to boost his value?

It’s funny how he never came anywhere near those totals with us - I mean, nowhere close. New linemates help, I suppose, although I also wonder whether the deep playoff run, in which he starred, gave him new reserves of confidence.

It's not just Danault...Lehkonen finishes a good number of his chances since he pulled on an Avs jersey too.

I hope the Bruins do not crush them in Guy’s night. It would be unbearable to watch

Crush, no....but I most definitely want a regulation loss in this and every other game remaining.  Arizona handed us a gift by picking up a point last night...I will be beyond pissed if we blow last place by picking up a meaningless point.

It definitely benefits the team if he plays well. Traded or kept. Both scenarios are better if he plays well.

It does benefit us if he regains his form, but for me, if he's out there being a useless mope again the next game or two, then I'd leave him out of the lineup the rest of the way.  We don't need a bad attitude around our young d-men, and if he's playing like crap, no reason to dress him.

This will never happen, but a guy like PK Subban, who can still move the puck but is a shadow of his former glory and who might perhaps be signed to reasonable term/amount, is the KIND of dude I mean. A placeholder who can offer some useful service and shelter allowing the young D to develop properly. A d-man of that profile is who I’d be looking for. And in case you’re curious, I wouldn’t rule Subban out, if I thought he’d be coming back here with the right mindset - helping a young team grow - and was willing to take a deal that makes sense.

A friend of mine and I were talking about this a couple of days ago.  I think PK would be a solid addition on a sensible 2 year deal: our powerplay needs a big shot threat from the blueline, and he's a reasonable middle/bottom pairing dman at this stage of his career.  He'd be a placeholder until one of our young talents can out-compete him for the job.

  6. That game was a lot of fun to watch..  Love the fight in these kids; they didn't fold when Tampa got up 3-1 like this team would have earlier this season.  I like the effort and attitude in the current lineup...would be happy to never see Petry or Drouin out there again.

Gallagher in the penalty box for a couple Jets goals, held off the scoresheet for all but one of his last 16 games.  Looking like one of the worst millstone contracts in the league.  It'll be tough building a contender with $17M tied up in him and Carey over the next 4 years, unless they both magically go the Weber route.

Agreed.  Gallagher produces at a 4th line clip anymore....he's terrible.

Oh, good, about 15 years too late. I never had any respect for that POS, with his double-Dutch about how he wishes he could have played in Montreal, blah blah blah, when in fact he had every opportunity to play in Montreal and was too cowardly to take up the mantle and really make a difference to the team. F**k him.

Agree 100%....I'm annoyed by the hire.  Not only would I not hire Lecavalier, I wouldn't let him into the building unless he was a paying customer.  F**k him.
