Kinda hope Petry is 'rested' for the rest of the season, doubt anyone would miss his play (dont care about his resale value).
Agree. I think he has an attitude problem.

Always feels good to beat those scumbags....looked good on the greasy mustache that he coughed the puck up on the winning goal.
-
I hope this is the last time we see Lagesson on the blueline. Handles the puck like a hand grenade in his own end.
-
Normally I'm all about draft position, but this is the Leafs, so 2 points be damned...I hope they find a way to win. Matthews getting absolutely obliterated would give me warm and fuzzy feelings inside too (the look of that guy just annoys me).

Glad Anderson is back. Drouin...not so much.

Gallagher in the penalty box for a couple Jets goals, held off the scoresheet for all but one of his last 16 games. Looking like one of the worst millstone contracts in the league. It'll be tough building a contender with $17M tied up in him and Carey over the next 4 years, unless they both magically go the Weber route.
Agreed. Gallagher produces at a 4th line clip anymore....he's terrible.

Oh, good, about 15 years too late. I never had any respect for that POS, with his double-Dutch about how he wishes he could have played in Montreal, blah blah blah, when in fact he had every opportunity to play in Montreal and was too cowardly to take up the mantle and really make a difference to the team. F**k him.
Agree 100%....I'm annoyed by the hire. Not only would I not hire Lecavalier, I wouldn't let him into the building unless he was a paying customer. F**k him.

A close loss where Caufield scores...perfect outcome.
-
Great...a Quebecois celebrity hire.
If that's all this management group wanted as a placeholder with no coaching experience, why not think bigger? Hire A-list Quebecois celebrity Georges St. Pierre instead!

In 37games, or 843minutes icetime, Petry has all of 6 points.
If he didnt dress again this year, would it hurt any or he be missed?
I bet even Gomez had more offense in his worst year, with much less icetime (yes he did; 11pts in 38gms).
Petry clearly quit a long time ago, and needs to go. I'd give him a stint in the pressbox until I could move him, were it not for cap considerations. -

Seems Petry is playing as bad as he can to sabotage any trade potential and to stay in Montreal
There are two ways to deal with this. One would be to pressbox him. The other would be to throw him out there for 30 minutes every night to both punish him and maximize the tank effort. Hard minutes though...zero time on the powerplay. Either way, he's a bum and I want him gone...but until that can happen, make him pay.

God Bless you diehards for continuing to watch, especially with a WJC game on right now.
-
It was overdue. Especially happy with them finally flushing Timmins...we have drafted so poorly that it boggles the mind that he's lasted so long.

Are you the one jinxing the Habs?
Don't blame me...I've hardly watched them the past couple of weeks. They are playing like s*!t all on their own, no jinx required.
-
Caps played earlier, so out of boredom while flicking through channels I fell on this game. I watched a bit...not even sure why, because they promptly gave up 2 terrible goals. They are the bums that I thought they would be.

All I know is that I will never hope for a loss.
Well, the playoffs are not a realistic outcome, so wins do nothing but hurt draft position. I'm completely comfortable hoping for regulation losses at this point...this team needs to draft top end talent to get competitive again.
-
I'd like to see Caufield score, and I'd like to see Ovi score 3 or 4. Other than that, a regulation loss is what serves the cause best...tank on.
-
Just tuned in to watch a few minutes...exactly what I expected. This team is heading for a lottery pick, no doubt about it.
-
Glad Caufield is back. That's not enough to get me to watch, but if he gets on a roll over the next few games, that will draw me back in.
-
Whatever it is, I hope the 30 day detox coupled with a great support structure around him means he's past it for good. I've been to the funeral of two friends who didn't even make it to their 40th birthdays because of substance abuse. I witnessed many relapses before they finally ran out of chances to get clean...it's horrific to see.

My gut told me it was an addiction to painkillers from the outset. He's had a bad knee (or is it both knees?) for awhile now, and probably put off this latest operation for awhile to keep on playing. The protestations that it wasn't a substance issue felt like a smokescreen, and now we know it was.
-
My guess is that they forgot how badly they need Shane Wright during that 1st period. I'm glad that someone reminded them at the intermission, and that they made the necissary adjustments. Tank on!

This is true:
I see fans linking Habs demise to the signing of French-speaking players. Really?

1) Savard. Team decided they wanted Ds to play on their strong side. Who are the other RD who changed teams once market opened? Apart from Dougie Hamilton, guys likes Poolman Bogosian Pateryn SchennI just didn't expect him to be this slow and soft
This. I never expected him to be a Weber replacement, but I did expect him to be solidly average at least. He's looked dowright bad so far.

To NJD: Gallagher
To MTL: Subban and a 1st
It's nice to dream. I'd love to be rid of Gallagher's contract, especially for a substantial return, but I can't see it with how bad Gallagher has looked and the term left on his contract.

That game was a lot of fun to watch.. Love the fight in these kids; they didn't fold when Tampa got up 3-1 like this team would have earlier this season. I like the effort and attitude in the current lineup...would be happy to never see Petry or Drouin out there again.
