Second to last time I have to watch Jonathan 'Le Bum' Drouin in a Habs uniform...thank God.
-
It feels dirty hoping for the Leafs to win this game, but I really want to slip below Arizona in the standings.
-
Terrible win for the standings, but Washington really mailed it in tonight so I don't think it could be helped.

Need a Detroit win as Arizona seems to have gone in the tank.
I think we need to lose all of our remaining games in regulation....looking ahead at Arizona's schedule, they're unlikely to win more than one game from now until the end (the Anaheim game)...and even that game could easily be a loss. The boys need to commit to the tank...maybe the goaltenders let a few past them on purpose...whatever. Screw integrity...finishing bottom 5 needs to be the one and only goal at this point.

I'd love to lose all of the remaining games in regulation, but that last game against Boston is probably going to against a lineup with most of their top players being healthy scratches.
-
Let this be the first in a string of regulation losses....need to stay below Arizona in the standings.
-
Habs lost, Flyers won...good night for the tank.

My respect for Martin St. Louis went up a notch for making good on benching Drouin for the entirety of this game.
-
My wish list for this game:
-Habs compete hard, make a good showing of it, but lose in regulation
-Sergachev knocks Drouin on his ass at some point

if there was any doubt Drouin was in MSL's good graces, this will probably be a one too many "faux pas" for #27. He is more than gone:
Suspended for being late to a team meeting
Martin St-Louis a expliqué que Jonathan Drouin avait raté une réunion d'équipe. C'est la raison pour laquelle Drouin a été suspendu de l'entraînement.

The bum deserves to be pressboxed for the remainder of the season. I'd like to think that'd be the case if not for the slew of injuries, but who knows with this guy, the way he's always coddled. -
Hoping this will be the first in a string of regulation losses. Need to secure that bottom 5 finish.

I don't think it would be fair for the Flyers to hold his son's actions against him, and could possibly leave them open to a wrongful dismissal suit. The only person who this should reflect badly on professionally is the athletic director at Mercyhurst College, should Briere not be kicked off of the team for his actions.

The way our call-ups play makes me hope we can shed guys like Gallagher and Armia before next season starts. I'd rather see guys like RHP, Ylonen, Pezz, and Belzile any day.
-
I think O'Reilly makes the Leafs better because he's a guy known to elevate his game in the playoffs, and is a strong leader who has a cup ring. That was something lacking in that room IMO.
-
Damn...the Leafs improved by acquiring O'Reilly and Acciari. If they can add a solid D-man, they just might make it out of the first round:

I'm starting to think that RHP isn't a fluke. I highly disagree with the people that have said that he is similar to Gally. I always complain that the Habs are often way too close to the goal line/crease. However, RHP doesn't do that. i.e. he gets it. He seems to know to be slightly farther away from the crease and in the slot which important for: a) people can actually pass to him; and more importantly b) he can take a decent shot at the net with a good chance it goes in.
Although it's a small sample size up to this point, RHP looks very good. His shooting % isn't sustainable, but he sure looks like he's got more goal scoring ability than Gallagher. Let's hope he keeps it up.

It's always so half-assed...the NHL never fails to display that it's just barely one of the 'major' sports whenever it puts on an event. Poor production values, D-list celebrities judging, D-list music acts....every single time. They'd be further ahead to streamline the production and stick to the actual skill events, and make them ultra-competitive.

Between now and the next time we play the Sens, someone needs to sit Xhekaj down and explain to him that it's okay to take an instigator penalty during a tank year. Tkachuk shouldn't be able to get that close and run his mouth, then be saved by the linesmen without eating any punches.
-
Sweet Jesus, that lineup is sad.

Welp. No reason to.watch the rest of the season.
That's where I'm at too. Going to have to start streaming some series I missed out on when they originally aired to fill in the evening TV hours I guess.

Caufield out for the season news was a real gut-punch....my one reason to watch games in their entirety on the regular in this rocky season is now gone. This is great for the tank I guess, but I'm still pissed. The 'hockey gods' can go F themselves!
-
Depleted by injuries yet again...should lose...which means they will probably find a way to win.
-
Bad night for the tank, but I'm happy that Caufield scored. I want him to bag 40+ no matter how much the losses pile up.

That bottom 6 stinks
It sure does. Will be glad when Monahan is back, and hopefully then Drouin will be back in the press box where he belongs.

This is a must-lose game. Every guy on the ice should be aware of what's at stake, and do just a little to ensure they come up just short. Take a penalty here, miss a check there....but for God's sake, do not screw up and get a point in this meaningless game!!!
Also, tonight we celebrate the last time we have to see Drouin in a Habs uniform! 😁🍾🎉
