  1. Thank You, you just put a smile on my face. I hope the Habs will do the same also.
  2. I remember that, it was awsome. Especially since I don't speak french. Much easier to get into the game instead of having to listen to 2 1/2 hours of nonsense.
  3. It seems to me that the Habs would have to be one point up on TO in order to make it with an overtime loss next Sat. two points up before the game makes the game meaningless.
  4. I think Sammy brought this on himself. It took him half the season to take a shot. He was brought in to score goals, and he hasn't. Yeah, maybe the lines sould have been changed earlier, but liik at his reaction when he was move to a different line(cry, cry, cry). He didn't show anything that would have moved him to the first line at any time this season, so breaking up he lines would have been a demotion, which would have caused this reaction sooner. He doesn't seem like a teaam player, so Carbo has no room for him on this team. I don't think this is a bad thing.
  5. He should be, the playoffs have already started for the Habs.
  6. so who else plays if Halak or Abby gets hurt? With Danis already hurt, we have nobody else to turn to. Not a spectacular move, but a decent move to obtain a goalie with NHL experience. Can't fault Bob for this. Also didn't give up anything for him and his salary is low. He is not here to lead us to the playoffs, just for insurance.
  7. Yes This is the end of our slump. If it works, hire Jack Todd for HC and GM. GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Never!!!!!! Souray is to valuable to this team. Everyone says we have no shot to resign him. I disagree, if we trade him we have no shot to resign him. If we keep him, at least we have a chance. I think that Souray adds way to much to this team. He is the first player to stick up for any teamate on the ice. He is an offensive threat on the ice, every team we play against knows where he is at all times. I have seen him make some good defensive plays, which never get mentioned. No player wants to skate into the zone against him, If they don't beat him, they know they are going to get hit hard. He is a great leader for this team. Losing him would cause this team to further fall apart(if that is possible). I do agree that he is not worth the money, but are any of these guys worth the money. These guys all get paid millions to play a sport they love. A career which most people dream of, not just for the money either. The current market sets the price he is worth but to replece him, we will have to spend the same on someone else, since it doesn' seem that any prospects will be ready. People say he wants to be closer to his daughter, but just because he is closer, doesn't automatically mean that he will see her more. He may only have certain visitation times. Also from what I read earlier in the season, he had worked out a good schedule to be with her. All in all, these are just my opinions, but the way I see it, he playes hard every night(I never have read any say he takes nights off), Plays with passion, for the game and the Habs, he likes playing in Montreal. Even though he may not be the best player in the league, I feel that this team needs more players like Souray, not get rid of one that brings this much to our team every night. GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
  9. I have a feeling that the Habs are going to score alot of goals this weekend. Maybe it is just the Blue talking, but I think 11 goals for the weekend = 2 wins
  10. i just doen't make sense to me. CBC showed the ceremony and the entire game when Detroit honored Stevie Y. It was in the middle of the week and 2 US teams playing. Certainly they could do the same for our Habs. Or does Detroit not have another TV channel covering them. According to CTV, the warm up will be after the ceremony. Puck will not drop until 8:25 or so. No excuse for a slow start.
  11. I agree, Sat. night, most of the first period they refered to the Bell Center as the Forum. They didn't even know what building they were in
  12. Do you guys think that CBC will show the game?
  13. I was also at that game. I remember that the only reason the cheering for Saku stopped was because they started to play the national anthem. The PA announcer tried to introduce the anthem a few times, and the building just got louder each time. It was indeed a great moment, one that i will never forget. I am not ashamed to admit that I started to cry during that time. Saku definatly deserved every second of that, and will always deserve that. There is no way anyone can every question his leadership and what he brings to the team, and every person in the building that night let Saku know that's how they felt about him.
  14. I just found the story and they are retiring Savard's # that night, not Dryden. Thanks for the info.
  15. Thanks for the info, although not the answer I was hoping for. I just got tickets to the Atlanta game and when they came in the mail, they had the retired jerseys on them and they had the # 29 on them. I guess I was hoping that meant that this was going to be the night to retire his #. Oh well, I will still have a great time at the game.
  16. Does anyone know when his # is being retired. I know that it is this season but am unsure of the date?opponent. I think it is Nov. 18 against Atlanta. Can anyone confirm this?
  17. I believe that the salary cap may have something to do with this. It makes the fan view the players and the team with a "what have you done for me lately" mentality. If a guy isn't producing, he is automatically overpaid and should be trade in the eyes of may fans. I would rather that my team deal with thier problems early in the season. Then they have time to make adjustments and learn how to deal with advirsity. I would rather see The Habs peak later in the season and learn how to deal with their problems now than vise versa. Overciming these problems now will make them a stronger team down the road. I know this is easier said than done because of course we want to win every game and beat every team we play. If you didn't feel that they should win every game, then you wouldn't be a true fan, like Habs fans are. GO HABS GO!!!!
  18. Do you really think that if they played the last l.2 seconds of the game, we would have scored again? I understand that Boston would have probably pulled their goalie, but us scoring in that time doesn't seem very realistic IMO.
