you're absolutely right!
guess what? you'd just nailed an error in Wikipedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Selke_Trophy
(or i can't read properly anyways i made the correction, thanks)
With already 3 short-handed goals and playing regularely on the PK, I'm wondering if Higgins has a shot at the Frank J. Selke Trophy this year for best defensive forward of the NHL?
He's playing for Carbo (3-times winner) and Gainey (4-times winner) is just upstairs. The Canadiens' coaching staff also includes Muller and Jarvis (1 Selke with the capitals). Carbo has also been comparing Higgins to Jere Lehtinen of the Dallas Stars (winner of three Selkes).
So... Am I daydreaming? If so, whoelse are serious contenders?
I agree with you guys, and will only add one more thing, though it can be put within the CONSISTENCY problem. Habs need to play better during the first period and play well all 60 minutes... Can't always run away with 3rd period rally and last minute victory.
Go :hlogo: Go!
How about the SKP = ice kapades line?
the way it is pronounced in french /Ess/ /Kaa/ /Pay/, sounds just like the Disney production to me
it's a funny name, but not very threatening to the opposing team
I wasn't suggesting any trade or that Gainey should be dumping our players. Souray will be UFA next summer with the possibility that we'll lose him for nothing even if we make him a substantial new offer...
I was only saying that Gainey should be aware of Souray's high value right now in case some opportunity of improving this team come
that said, i'm glad we have such a high ranked player. It's been a long long time...
cheers!
On TSN's player ranking, Souray is ranked 6th this week behind Havlat, Manny Fernandez, Crosby, Caron and Shanahan. Doesn't that mean his market value is somewhat extremely high right now? Take notice Bob... take notice...
