They had the Sens gasping for breath at the first intermission ... but then let up. Why?
-
So ... was it just me or it were the Sens just that much faster on the three-on-three?
-
What chaos in front of the net ...
-
I do have to admit that it was a nice play by the Sens, though.

This. We have nine points from six games (yes, only six games), most against highly-rated opposition, in spite of missing Weber, and getting only human goaltending.
And I like watching this team! It's not quite Guy Lafleur but I do love their speed ...

Love how Reilly has an assist yet didn’t get credited with the + in the +/- .
Stats gods owe him one!
He apparently didn't want to wait for the stats gods!

What I like this year is HOW they are winning. I like this team's hustle and chemistry.
That's not to say that it will last, but at least I'm enjoying it for now.
-
Dominating the third period ... the Red Wings, that is.
-
Well! I'm really starting to worry now about what kind of draft pick we can get in 2019.

I like how they are drawing penalties. Now we just need to get the PP clicking.

When did we learn how to score?
Apparently the kids haven't been told to knock it off yet.

It's blocked out on tsn in Ontario.. Watching on RDS package for Habs games. Having trouble getting a bus driver..
Amazingly I'm getting the TSN2 feed on the NHL mobile app -- in Japan! I tapped on it by accident, as usually nothing is available outside of Canada. But not complaining about the feed. Or about the effort tonight!

Is no one watching the game tonight? I missed tge penalty shot but I loved the speed and the hustle that got them the other two goals — and some breaks on PK too.

Game four ... it's still pretty early in the season, but this team is a whole lot easier for me to like than what I expected. Can they still get better from here (this season) or will the talent of other teams catch up with them?
Some very promising players (Hudon, Kotkaniemi) and others that need to improve (Armia, Drouin) but it's pretty early still to be drawing definitive conclusions, especially for players new to the organization and to CJ's system.

To bad they gave up a goal at the end there but its really great to watch these habs. Young guys fighting hard and skating on and on.
Even if they don't make the playoffs this year, having a hard-working, exciting team would be a big advance in my books.
-
That's four goals on just 14 shots. Murray allowed six on 36 shots in their opener and this is not any better.
-
It's getting harder to stay pessimistic about this game. Armia gets a goal, and Byron his third point of the night.

Well that was way better than I expected. We looked speedy and deep. Still not sure if we should keep Kotka around this year, but that was a promising debut. Someone compared him to Lecavalier, which I can see in his stride and frame.
So how many games can he play if they do intend to send him back to Finland for the season?
-
That's at least one point in the season opener, against what's supposed to be one of the league's top teams this year. 36 shots, good play by Price (based on radio, can't stream SN here south of the border and don't feel like looking for an illegal feed tonight) and a solid offensive effort.
-
Needs to work on NHL face-offs but that should hopefully not be a problem...
-
Bad penalty kill plus bad penalties does not make for good results.
-
Not a bad first period of the season! If I didn’t know better I’d start getting optimistic about this year.

Not a big fan of watching on devices, as I grumbled about earlier in this thread.
Use a Chromecast or plug your laptop into your TV with an HDMI cable. That's what I do, I don't watch enough TV to warrant paying for a cable package.

So if we live outside the 'region' TSN Go is not an option. Correct - ?
I frigging hate that ever since TSN lost the contract, people living west of Quebec need to have some sort of Excel charts to figure out how to watch Habs' games.
Has anyone tried TSN Go with a VPN, to get the games outside of Quebec?

Maybe if we had a veteran coach telling the kids what to do in this kind of situation ... oh, wait.
