Wasn't paying close attention to Lats, so I can't say anything about your observations. but the passes, yeah, I've got to wholeheartedly agree, and the playing to the level of the opponents, it's still a problem this year, although less of one than last. But it's a concern. they have to start playing consistently, their game, regardless of who the other team is...

thanks JMMR! This was really bugging me, and now I'm relieved...

hmmmm... just checking the board now and I see we've had a "visitor" from TO drop by... amused is all I am about that... nothing more to add there... also, I guess you guys already pointed it out, (and someone said it's loser talk to blame the refs, but...) did you all see the non-call on Koivu being hawled to the ice on the same shift that Stajan scored the winner??? That really peeved me. It was the most obvious (and damaging) non-call of the night in my opinion... also, where was Huet second star? on CBC? On RDS, second star was Higgins...

Right now, any team we show up to play, we can stay in the game with them and have a good chance of beating them. If we don't show up, we'll lose... We just need to show up, and I'm afraid of overconfidence. I hope Les Boys stay level-headed... Remember, TO's the ones who beat us this season, not the other way around...

So true Cuke! and absolutely hilarious.... Still, I'm glad it was said on CBC, even though it was only said by Cherry, who is a clown...

I agree that Ryder's been working really hard, and that until he stops working hard, or we enter into a losing streak and he's still not performing, he should not be sat... He's putting in the effort, he's playing well defensively. If you want to try him on another line to give Kosty a chance on that line, I think that's reasonable, not really a serious punishment but just seeing other combinations, but I think this guy has come a long way from all our complaining that he was too "one dimensional" before when he was scoring all our goals, and he doesn't deserve to be punished.

Who gets the next C could really depend on timing. If it's 3-4 years away, Chipper stands a chance, otherwise, I suspect Higgy will get it if Koivu leaves before then. Personally, I hope Koivu retires with the Habs C on his chest, and then we worry about what a fantastic problem we have picking between our young leaders for the C. I still expect Higgy will get it, but we'll see.

For once, Don Cherry's strong opinions are accurate...
