What exactly happened? It didn't look very serious to me. I believe he's injured, but he will be back for the start of the play-offs or I'm a monkey's uncle.

This is a blessing guys. I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll bet Komi is not as hurt as everyone thinks. The guy has been crashing and banging, blocking shots the entire year. He must be friggin sore as hell. Gainey and Carbo are probably letting the guy heal up for the play-offs. I'll put money down he's back before they actually start. We have depth to fill his shoes and in the remaining games, guys like Boullion, Gorges, O'byrne will learn how to take on responsibility just in time for the dance. This is a good thing.........

Depends who is involved. I just hope it doesn't mess with Gainey's plans. Let's say some Kevin Lowe type GM offers Big TlTS 5 million this summer. What do we do? He will probably be worth it one day, but I'm sure Gainey can sign him for much less this summer. I just worry something like that will kill our cap space because we'll have to match it, and I would in Andrei's case.

He's a good goalie. If it doesn't look llike anyone will pick him up in the summer he'll probably sign again. He's in a good spot now. One injury and he's with the big club. Gainey will make him an offer and if nothing comes his way via other teams he'll stay. I was actually surprised to see him renew last year, it's better now that Huet is gone.

I do see it becoming a trend. Nobody wants to trade anymore, UFA'S are getting big money and competition is high, and guys like Waddel are creating major bidding wars right down to the wire, pitting GM's against other GM'S. Things are changing in the NHL. I feel there will be more and more RFA offer sheets in the coming years. It seems to be the only way to get something of value that you really want. You will pay either way that's for sure. It's just not going to happen with Halak, that's all. At least not this year.

If Price falters and Halak takes us on a deep run I could understand this thread. If Halak was responsible for our great season, I would understand this thread. He hasn't. We Habs fans know he has great potential and will be a fine goalie but he is RFA. He can't use that to leave the team even if he wanted to, and no team in the league is coming after him. He hasn't done anything yet, except show potential. I would be more concerned about Andrei. He is the type of player that a team might come after and we should worry about dirty GM's dangling stupid money in front of him, but Halak? Come on guys, this is a pointless concern.
