I don't think it would have made a difference in this case, they were going after him for the (clean) hit he dished out to some Panthers player I forget.
That was a big hit Obyrne delivered. I loved seeing him do it. It was clean for sure.
Yes the Panthers were after him and he fought both of them. It was just an unfortunate event for Obyrne. I dont think having a goon would of helped sice they were after him.

Thats a big loss for the Habs. I guess italways helps having Streit and Dandy playing wings.
Breezer should be back soon though. They were saying two weeks a while back though.

What a wierd game thread. Never have i've seen this on Habsworld.
Anyways Go Habs Go. I'm thinking Ryder will have a good game and I feel he will score an important goal for the Habs.

Canadiens rookie defenceman Ryan O'Byrne broke his right thumb in a fight against Tanner Glass late in the third period of Friday night's 5-1 victory over the Florida Panthers.
O'Byrne has returned to Montreal. Mark Streit will move to defence for the road trip-ending Sunday night game against the Rangers in New York.
Kyle Chipchura, a healthy scratch for the two games in Florida, will centre the Canadiens' fourth line with Mathieu Dandenault and Tom Kostopoulos.
Cristobal Huet will make his third consecutive start in goal for the Canadiens.

Samsonov has been placed on waivers by the Blackhawks.
Not a surprise by me. I'm sure that nobody is stupid enough to pick him up.

I still dont think that he would of put up the numbers in montreal. He coulnt deal with the pressure of playing in montreal. Its a litle bit easier playing in Dallas. In Dallas he has someone to set him up as well.

Good solid game by the Habs. Higgins looked amazing in this one.
We now have a rare Saturday off as we go the NY to play the Rangers on Sunday night.

So Far Andrei has looked steady for the Habs. I have not seen enough oh Sergei to get a real idea of what hi future will look like for the Habs.

Ya that buggs me two. They always put it as Kastsitsyn. In the Hockey News they sometimes do that as well.

The Habs win.
I still dont understand why Torterello yanked Holmqvist after three goals. He put Romo in and he got scored on twice. Then the Lightning scored and he replaced Romo with Holmqvist. That was really wierd to me especially after the lighting scored.

Detroits Nicklas Lidstrom signed a two year contract extension believed to be worth $7.45M. He took a pay cut as before he was making about $7.6M.
This is a big sign for the Wings.

Well the DEC 23 curse continues. Cant say that i am surprised. You knew it was not going to be a win because that curse has been around since 1945.

But if Price wins then you look like a genious. The only thing is that it would not be fair to Huet to play 65 minutes and then have someone come in for three shots and get the win.

If hes not confident and price is it just makes complete sense to throw Price in there for Shootouts.
