  1. did anybody catch mike wilbon bash grapes on PTI on ESPN? Loved it - "about time he retired. That bigoted, cantankerous crank!"
  2. cherry says he wants to come back but cbc isn't sure it wants to renew him. Cherry's contract is up at the end of the season, he's a UFA... apparently the cbc didn't want to keep many big contracts after the end of this season in preparation for the new fiscal realities of the new CBA.
  3. scotty bowman would be best - maybe a real coach on the corner? lafleur ain't busy....
  4. i tell myself that if this is a rebuilding year I can't want to see the finished product. Oh yeah, please sign kovalev! Also, between whatever new cba they come up with, ther resurgence of the CH assuring a lot more sellouts next season, playoff income, a stronger canadian dollar, and potentially sagging cash flows for american teams I have a lot of faith in the habs. We should be able to make a good move or two in the offseason. [Edited on 4/29/2004 by simonus]

    An American

i kinda think that the americans have a bigger problem with the french than they do with americans... The french, and much of the world, has a problem with the US government, not so much with americans. I often get the feeling that americans make this stuff much more personal than others. I am dual citizen american and canadian and I certainly do not hate america or americans, although I must admit I am sometimes disturbed by American government and some american societal tendancies. American culture is very pervasive throughout the world, so I find it dificult to make an argument that people dislike americans, but I think they are mostly confused by a lot of the political ideology. One must admit it is a bit insulting when americans claim the most fair judicial system, the greatest healthcare system, the highest level of democracy and so forth... Again, I repeat I am an american citizen and am quite happy to be one.
  14. habs are looking more organized this period so far... slowing it down a bit
