  1. Last time Calgary was in the finals they won. And if Kiprusoff continue his play they might go all the way.
  2. Good one! But aren't we all happy this prediction was 100% false?
  3. Swedish media has reported that MoDo has an agreement with Sundström. They also say that Timander will head back to Ö-vik.
  4. Canada has the depth. Yes. Team USA has the heart. (I rank USAs fighting spirit higher than canadian) Sweden has it all. But not like Canada. Slovakia has the speed. Czech Republic has the skill. Finland has Saku Koivu. Russia has it all but they haven't played like a team since the soviet days.
  5. I think you are underestimating Jörgen Jönsson. He is the best allround player outside NHL. If he had stayed in the NHL and adapted his play he would be one of the leauges top thirdlines centers. Jörgen was the player I was most certain of. He's always there. Never a bad game. Hardy Nilsson explained why Nylander wasn't in the sqaud like this: Nylander is a top line forward. And there's no room for him on the first or the second line. Christian Bäckman was one of Tre Kronors best defencemen during the world championship and therefore Kenny Jönsson is out. But Hardy doesn't denie that Nylander and Kenny Jönsson are better players than some others that made the team. Nylander had a poor world championship. That also a reason why he's not in. And don't underestimate Henrik Lundqvist. As I see it, the goaltender spot is wide open, and I wouldn't be surprised if Tre Kronor goes with Lundqvist in net. I think the swedish defencen is as good as the canadian. Lidström may be the best defenceman in the world. Norström is one of the toughest. Tärnström is one of the best offensive. Öhlund is big and solid. Ragnarsson has been the best defenceman in the playoffs so far in my opinion. Kim Johnsson is also a top-name. Sweden has two strong scoring lines. Not the same toughness as Canada. My only concern is the checking lines.
  6. Tre Kronors squad was made public yesterday. Michael Nylander and Kenny Jönsson are not in. Målvakter: Henrik Lundqvist Västra Frölunda Tommy Salo Colorado Mikael Tellqvist Toronto Backar: Christian Bäckman St Louis Kim Johnsson Philadelphia Nicklas Lidström Detroit Mattias Norström Los Angeles Marcus Ragnarsson Philadelphia Daniel Tjärnqvist Atlanta Dick Tärnström Pittsburgh Mattias Öhlund Vancouver Forwards: Daniel Alfredsson Ottawa Per-Johan Axelsson Boston Nils Ekman San Jose Peter Forsberg Colorado Tomas Holmström Detroit Andreas Johansson Nashville Jörgen Jönsson Färjestad Fredrik Modin Tampa Bay Marcus Nilson Calgary Markus Näslund Vancouver Samuel Påhlsson Anaheim Mats Sundin Toronto Daniel Sedin Vancouver Henrik Sedin Vancouver Henrik Zetterberg Detroit
  7. Is Bobby Holik the best #16? I tought there was plent of skilled players with # 16.
  8. Canada can put together two strong teams that could win any cup any day... There's no room for Theo?! And Primeau is out? They would probably be starters for any other nation. But with this comes the pressure. What if Canada fails, when "all the great ones" are in. Another loss versus the US? But it will be a tough tournament.
  9. JP Dumont. Im a half Sabre-fan since two of my favourites play there. JP and Briere.
  10. It hurts when you put it that way. Worst trade ever.
  11. But I am sure. So is Brynäs. http://www.brynas.se/news_read.asp?id=1321
  12. But don't expect Zherdev to return to mother russia... Ovechkin is more likely.
  13. Im not that sure about Swedish goaltending. Salo is a great goaltender but in my opinion Henrik Lundqvist showed that he has the skills. And I do think we will se him in New York Rangers if there will be a next season. And Sweden have Lidström, Johnsson, Öhlund, Norström, Tärnström, Hävelid, Jönsson and Ragnarsson on the blueline. Lundqvist doesn't have the experience but at least he has played a world championship final.
  14. And remember that team USA won the last time. They have the heart. But I think Canada will win. They have better players than USA. Sweden has some really sharp edge and always plays like a team. But we just won't win. Russia has tons of talent, but seems to be to individual. If they play like a team they can win it, but I don't think so. Finland? They have some really good players but they don't have 12 forwards and 6 defenceman. Selänne, Kapanen and Koivu won't fix it against all the other stars. Czech Republic is good team. I rank them just as high as I rank Sweden, Russia and USA. Slovakia has a fast set of forwards and in order to beat them the opponent will need a strong goalie and some fast defencemen. I'll rank them as underdogs with the finns. 1. Canada 2. USA 3. Sweden 4. Russia 5. Czech Republic 6. Slovakia 7. Russia 8. Germany
  15. And Jörgen Jönsson will play in Tre Kronor for sure.
  16. To me World Championships is a big thing. Canada won. They scored 4 goals in a row. They deserved it. Congratulations. But... Sweden was the better team until Neidermayer assaulted Forsberg. After that hit every red player started to throw their body. Sweden got scared. On the first goal there was TWO lucky bounces. Nylander scored in his own net.
  17. Canada has it going right now. 3-3 Flashbacks of last years final are comming... I said it before and I'll say it again. Next goal is verry important. STÄLL ER, KOM TILLBAKA OCH SKICKA KANADICKERNA TILL VM SILVER!
  18. What did I just say about Neidermayer? Scott may be a gentleman but his younger brother has somethings in common with Phil Esposito. I think they should have send him off after that checking from behind on Forsberg. Tre Kronor has the lead but Canada has really steped up since their goal. Maybe next goal will decide a lot in this game. TRE KRONOR HELA VÄGEN!
  19. Have you ever seen a swedish player dive?! Maybe Alfredsson but Neidermayer isn't a 100% fair player either. It will be a clean game. The best team will win. I god do I hope it's Sweden! GO SWEDEN GO! HEJA BLÅGULT!
  20. I was not born with stars like Howe and Lafleur. In Sweden the're called Ulf Sterner, Inge Hammarström, Hans Virus Lundberg, Lillpröjsa Nilsson and Börje Salming. But... At the center position I see Wayne Gretzky as the number one of all time. He is the reason why kids started to play hockey. He is the perfect star as he also is the perfect gentleman. The leftwing is the hardest one. If I can call Forsberg I would like to call him the best since I see him as the one and only complete hockeyplayer. But Bobby Hull is probably the most dominant player at this position. Right wing: Rocket Richard. The goal scoring king. No doubt. Defense... Can I pick two? Bobby Orr and Börje Salming.
  21. Benoit was my favourite. I'd almost cried when I heard that he was going to Ottawa. I couldn't help that I hated Van Allen since day one.
  22. Most of the ex-habs are in Philadelphia and they are still in the playoffs...
  23. Recchi LeClair Desjardins Or... Vincent Damphousse Donald Brashear Chris Chelios (He played with Bon Gainey!)
  24. Torontos Mikael Renberg is back in Sweden. And that's for good. Markus Näslund will continue in the NHL if there won't be a lock-out, but expect many to follow Renbergs example. He will play for Luleå, the most northern team in the Swedish Elitserie. http://www.nsd.se/index.php?artikel=113978...e48c244e96523e6
