  1. I dont want to worry about the other teams , I'd rather that they worry about us. I'm not worried, I think it's just good to know how they are doing... you can be sure the Habs check as much as we do.
  2. Update! Philly up 3-2 over the Rags. Bruins and Sabers tied at 1.
  3. Since we're in the thick of the playoff race, I think this thread should always be updated.... Philly Vs Rags... 2-2 Sabers Vs Bruins... 1-0 Go Philly and Sabers!
  4. Gonchar, Savard and McCabe should be there no doubt. Ribeiro could be there as well, but since the Habs have two going already, I can see them leaving him off. But Primeau? He's on pace for 30 points this year... We might as well could have sent Joe Juneau... That's really sad.
  5. Sorry , I accidently deleted your thread. Just make sure you don't do it again :/)
  6. Also, If the Habs make the playoffs... Langdon won't dress for each game as there is almost no fighting in the playoffs.
  7. I'd love O'neill on the Habs... he's a real warrior and comes to play big in the playoffs. Remember 2001-2002? Remember his face? That black eye... and he kept going... he's pretty much a Power Forward... man I'd love to get him. Hossa and a 3rd rounder would be my offer. I'd love to have these lines for the rest of the season... Zednik-Koivu-Ryder O'neill-Ribs-Dagenais Bulis-Juneau-Ward Langdon-Begin-Kilger On the bench: Dackell, Sundstrom, Perreault Hopefully Perreault can be traded for even some more toughness on the 3rd line... Dackell and Sunstrom could come in handy in case of injuries...
  8. Excellent move by the Canes... Williams is a future 30 goal, 70 pt guy and they got him for an injury prone Markov. Since Willliams is a RW... looks more like O'neill is on his way out too. [Edited on 2004/1/20 by Habby1197]
  9. Since the Heritage Classic the Habs are a different team, totally changed. With a record of 12-5-4-1 since that game it seems like a season turning point. Also the record could even be that much better. Here are the 5 loses... 5-2 Loss to the Nucks... We got killed, plain and simple. 3-2 Loss to Philly, I'm sure you all remember this game. We dominated and lost with two Philly late goals in the final minutes. 4-2 Loss to Florida, another fun one... Habs had a 2-0 lead and then went to sleep... another game that we could have easily won. 4-2 Loss to Toronto... Habs lead 2-1 and could have hung on for at least a tie, but Sundin's fluke goal gave the Leafs the win. 3-2 Loss to the Caps... Caps scored the winner in the last few minutes to beat the Habs. In those 5 losses we could have come out of those games at LEAST 2-1-2..... Making our record in 22 games 14-1-6-1. We only deserved to lose ONE of our last 22 games... Here's hoping to playing game number one of next season outdoors... you never know how good we could be. [Edited on 2004/1/7 by Habby1197]
  10. I wrote an article on the Habs and what they did this week... if anyone wants to comment please do so! http://www.habsworld.net/show_big_news.php?id=182
  11. <i>Shanahan-Thornton-Iginla Kariya-Lemieux-Iginla Elias-Sakic-Murray Daze-Lindros-Heatley Smyth Jovanoski-Blake Redden-Stevens Neidermayer-Foote Aucoin Brodeur Theodore Giguere Maybe put in Perreault and Brisebois as the towelboys</i> Aussie little problem there.... Iginla twice, and ELIAS isn't from Canada! LMAO
  12. Tanguay-Thornton-Iginla Lemieux-Sakic-Bertuzzi Shanahan-LeCavalier-Murray Gagne--Doan-Smyth Yzerman Jovo-Pronger Blake-Niedermayer Morris-Foote Redden Brodeur Theodore Luongo Right now that would be my 23 man roster... anyone else?:can:
  13. 11 games into the 2003-2004 season I'm very please with our team. We played some very tough teams and only lost to the Sens, Flyers, Bruins and Leafs. Theodore has given up a goal or less in 6 of his 9 starts. He also has 3 shutouts. Garon has looked very good too. Ribeiro took the #1 centre Job with Koivu being out and has been great. Souray has been that rock we missed all of last year on D. If Someone would have told me we would have 12 points in our first 11 games this year I wouldn't have believed it. Good job Habs, keep it up. :ghg:
  14. What a joke that is... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=58870 Only 3 Habs made the ballot... Zednik, Koivu and Theodore. Markov should be on there forsure, over Kenny Jonsson, Danny Markov, Bryan McCabe and others...
  15. Look out, Habs might be as good or almost as good as the Sens... Zednik-Koivu-Kostitsyn Hossa-Ribs-Perezhogin Bulis-*Arnott-Higgins Ryder-Kilger-Ward Markov-Rivet Souray-Komisarek Hainsey-Brisebois??? Theodore Garon Looks good to me, we really need that 3rd line centre like Arnott with having Koivu and Ribs as our first 2. Brisebois could be gone... but even so that a solid lineup. 15 of those 20 are drafted Habs players... the ones that aren't are Kilger, *Arnott, Souray, Zednik and Bulis. Talk about buliding a team... we're going in the right direction.
  16. No surprise there. Still Higgins needs to be sent down and one more after that. Gainey still has work to do... However we might lose Dwyer because he'll have to clear waivers first because he was protected at the waiver draft. 25 players on roster... still gotta trim two. Higgins and ??? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=57352
  17. What a shame... Poor guy. Life isn't fair sometimes... I hate seeing young people die... just isn't right... RIP #37
  18. Wohh.. Sundstrom is one of our key player! Great defensively and has some instinct in the offensive zone. Great stickhandling habilities and comes off the corner always with the puck. Sundstrom is just a faster and younger Dackell... he's nothing special. I rather Have Travis Green over Sundstrom... He's also overpayed at almost 2 million.
  19. "The Florida Panthers then lost their No. 2 goaltender, Jani Hurme, in a somewhat bizarre twist. First, the Panthers lost goaltender Chris Mason, third on their depth chart, to the Nashville Predators. That was a straightforward transaction. Mason was available; Nashville took him. In an apparent effort to re-stock their minor-league goaltending, the Panthers claimed netminder Steve Valiquette from the Edmonton Oilers. But after taking Valiquette, the Panthers were told they would have to drop one of their two protected goalies - either Roberto Luongo or Jani Hurme. They chose Hurme. Atlanta apparently put in a claim on Hurme, but it was ruled the Thrashers weren't eligible to take him at that point of the draft. Ultimately, the Carolina Hurricanes selected him and traded him to Atlanta for a fourth-round pick." He Lost a NON-protected goalie... and then claimed one, but what he didn't know was that once a goalie is picked up another is made to be available.... so he lost Hurme for Valiquette... what a HORRIBLE move. 20. More Richer talk... http://www.rds.ca/cgi-bin/nouvelles?site=r...on&sport=#89205 END THIS NIGHTMARE NOW! He can play in the Habs-Oilers old timers game if he wants to... Unless he's willing to take a game by game contract for 100$ per game get that bum out of here!
  21. My waiver review.... Travis Green... Not a surprise the Bruins wanted him. He's a cheap replacement for Stumple and now it'll allow Rolston to play 2nd line without worrying about having a checking centre for the 3rd line. Pittsburgh takes D Nolan Baumgartner from Vancouver... Pens need cheap D-men... they found one. Nashville takes F Wade Brookbank from Ottawa... Don't know who he is... I'm guessing a project. Atlanta takes F Serge Aubin from Colorado... a Bob Hartley favorite? Not a surprise that he was picked up. Montreal takes F Darren Langdon from Vancouver... Habs needed some toughness... They got some. New York Rangers take F Joel Bouchard from Pittsburgh... Not surprised at all... he played his best hockey with the Rangers last year. New York Rangers take F Sheldon Keefe from Tampa Bay... good pick up IMO... Tough player. New York Rangers take F Mike Siklenka from Philadelphia... No idea who he is... Project I'm guessing. Nashville takes G Chris Mason from Florida... Looking for some goaltending depth after trading their #1 to the Rags last year. Atlanta takes Ronald Petrovicky from New York Rangers... good role player for the Thrashers to pick up. Montreal takes F Steve Begin from Buffalo... a Darcy Tucker with no skill... not a bad pick up. He's a pain in the ass. Washington takes Brian Willsie and Denis Hamel from Colorado and Ottawa.... Nice pick ups... two well known players maybe needed a change of scenery. Anaheim takes Todd Simpson from Phoenix... Good pick up, The Ducks have Ozo who they must play with a defensive Dman... they have one now. St. Louis takes Jeff Heerema from NYR... Went for a guy with decent upside. Florida takes G Steve Valiquette from Edmonton... Loses Hurme... Takes another goalie. Carolina takes G Jani Hurme from Florida, trades Hurme to Atlanta for a fourth-round pick"... Canes got Storr... didn't need Hurme. I though he was protected though. Can't believe Bendar and Novoseltev weren't picked up.
  22. Green Traded to Boston! http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=55966 "Just hours after claiming Travis Green off the waiver wire, the Columbus Blue Jackets traded him to the Boston Bruins in exchange for a sixth round pick. Green, who spent two years in Toronto, was place on waivers earlier this week along with forward Robert Reichel. Green's departure will free up $1.6 million in salary from the Leafs' payroll. In return, the Maple Leafs selected forward Petr Tenkrat, an unsigned, Group II restricted free agent, whom Columbus was forced to expose after taking Green. Green was drafted by New York Islanders in 1989 (23rd overall) and spent time in Anaheim and Phoenix before coming to Toronto. In 2002-03, Green recorded 12 goals and 12 assists in 75 games. A list of other notable moves made on Friday: Pittsburgh takes D Nolan Baumgartner from Vancouver Nashville takes F Wade Brookbank from Ottawa Atlanta takes F Serge Aubin from Colorado Montreal takes F Darren Langdon from Vancouver New York Rangers take F Joel Bouchard from Pittsburgh New York Rangers take F Sheldon Keefe from Tampa Bay New York Rangers take F Mike Siklenka from Philadelphia Nashville takes G Chris Mason from Florida Atlanta takes Ronald Petrovicky from New York Rangers Montreal takes F Steve Begin from Buffalo Washington takes Brian Willsie from Colorado Washington takes Denis Hamel from Ottawa Anaheim takes Todd Simpson from Phoenix St. Louis takes Jeff Heerema from NYR Florida takes G Steve Valiquette from Edmonton Carolina takes G Jani Hurme from Florida, trades Hurme to Atlanta for a fourth-round pick"
  23. We now seem to have a real 4th line... The 4th line should play MAX 5 mins per game and the top 3 lines should play the other 55 mins. Without getting anyone else... this is the best Habs lineup I can think of. Bulis-Koivu-Audette Hossa-Ribs-Zednik Kilger-Perreault-Ward Langdon-Begin-Ryder Markov-Rivet Souray-Brisebois Quintal-Komi Theo Garon Screw, Juneau, Dackell, Sundstrom, Dwyer and the rest of our losers. I know Perreault isn't a third line centre... but I rather have him than Juneau. With Kilger and Ward on his wings he'll be more than ok on the defensive end. That's not a great team... but at least it has the make up of what a team should be... Perreault is the only pussy forward in that lineup.
  24. http://www.rds.ca/cgi-bin/nouvelles?site=r...on&sport=#89197 Richer met with Gainey this morning to discuss coming back to the NHL? KILL ME NOW!:puke:
