  1. BREAKING NEWS! TSN has learned the Carolina Hurricanes have signed free agent netminder Jamie Storr to a one-year deal worth $500,000 plus incentives . Details to follow.
  2. Green was selected by the Blue Jackets not surprised he was picked up... www.tsn.ca
  3. Montreal... I was just listing the D pairings... not in any order. I think I know Markov is our #1 d-man.
  4. Just watching RDS... Demers says that the opening night D will look like this. Bouillion-Brisebois Souray-Quintal Markov-Rivet Komisarek will be sitting that night or might already be in the AHL... Expect Traverse or Dykhuis to be back as the 7th D-man if one isn't claimed...
  5. Actually Puck, Chow is only due to make 800,000$ this year... the Habs bought out the rest. So it's possible a team might take him for 800K. Also The Florida Panthers are insane IMO... Jaroslav Bednar, and Ivan Novoseltsev not protected? They'll forsure be picked up. Also the Leafs left Green unprocted... a little surprising. I wouldn't mind him as a 4th liner instead of Juneau.
  6. http://www.11alive.com/news/news_article.a...x?storyid=37279 News from Atlanta... nothing new as of yet. Update... "Two Atlanta Thrashers were seriously injured late Monday night in a car wreck in downtown Atlanta. Dan Snyder, 25, was listed in critical condition after suffering severe head injuries and Dany Heatley, 22, was listed in stable condition at Grady Memorial Hospital. Snyder suffered a fractured skull and doctors had to perform surgery. Heatley suffered a broken jaw and other bruises. He was reportedly conscious and talking. According to Atlanta police, the vehicle -- with Heatley at the wheel -- struck a pillar near the Peachtree Lenox Condominiums at 3030 Lenox Road around 11 p.m. The car was reportedly traveling at speeds upwards of 80 mph. Snyder was ejected from the car and the vehicle was cut in half, authorities said. Thrashers President Stan Kasten held a press conference around 3 a.m. at Grady and said the team was still planning on holding a practice at 9 a.m. Tuesday. Kasten said he expected to inform the team of the news at that point. Snyder underwent surgery on his ankle three weeks ago and was placed on the injured list. Heatley was the NHL Rookie of the Year in 2002 and was voted the MVP of the league All-Star Game last year after collecting four goals. The Thrashers are set to begin this year's season on Oct. 9" Doesn't look good for Snyder, I wish him the best though. And Now TSN has the full story too... I'm off to bed, wishing Snyder the best. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=55659 [Edited on 2003/9/30 by Habby1197] [Edited on 2003/9/30 by Habby1197]
  7. Looking at the Thrasher's roster... the only players around Heatley's age are... Piros-24 Stefan-23 Kovalchuk-20 Exelby-22 I'm afraid it might be one of them... :?-
  8. More news on the crash... http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=1626742 Still no word on the other player.
  9. Man, this is bad news... I hope its not what I think it is for the unknown player... I cant help but wonder who it is... I hope everything comes out ok.
  10. TSN just reported that Dany Heatley and an unknown player on the Trashers were hurt when Heatley driving his black Ferrari were in a serious accdient. Both are said to be in hospital and Heatley is said to be stable... But the unknown Thrasher is in cridical condtion. Sorry no link, just saw it on tsn... edit: here's the link http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=55659 [Edited on 30-9-03 by Habs77] [Edited on 2003/9/30 by Habby1197]
  11. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=55355 It's a good move IMO... but it's really coming down to now or never for the Leafs.
  12. About Zed, he's a first liner or an up and coming first liner. He's increasing his goal total each year he's been here... 19, 22, 31.. I know he played with Saku, but all the other first line wingers played with great centre's too. Zed might not be a superstar first liner but he's forsure a first line winger. Now if he scores 35 this year is he still a 2nd line winger? I dont think so. Zed is just coming into his own... I don't think its fair to say he's a second liner. Also he's VERY accurate from close range, he can roof the puck with ease... he misses a lot of shot because he LIKES to shoot. Zed is a goalscorer a natural too. He loves to shoot the puck, Now I'm not comparing him in anyway to Brett Hull in his prime, but just remember how often Hull missed the net... goal scorers love to shoot from all angles and everywhere on the ice, as Zed does... he in no way shape or form has the hands of Petrov, they are not even in the same league. I know you like Zed and everything... but saying he's a 2nd liner isn't fair. He's as much as a first liner as Martin St. Louis, Owen Nolan, Tony Amonte, Temmu Selanne, Petr Bondra, Simon Gagne and many more. Habs right now have 2 first line players... Zed and Saku and that's it. Bulis, Ribs, Hossa and the rest are second liners at the point.
  13. TSN is a ######ing joke... http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=54932 Theodore shaky? Are you kidding me? What goal was he shaky on? The one timer blast point blank? Or the crazy deflection? No goalie would have had either of those. We'll just see what TSN says at the end of the year when Theo has a better GAA, and SV% than Belfour.
  14. Bulis-Koivu-Audette Hossa-Ribs-Zed Sundstrom-Perreault-Ward Higgins-Juneau-Ryder Markov-Rivet Souray-Brisebois Quintal-Komi Theo Garon I like that lineup... Dackell, Dwyer on the bench
  15. Kilger improving... his vision is getting better, I'm happy he can see anything. Finally some good news... keep your fingers crossed. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=54299
  16. Roberts-Sundin-Nolan Antropov-Newy-Almo Tucker-Green-Renberg Fitzgerald-Reichel-Domi It's a good thing their D sucks. edit: typo in title [Edited on 2003-9-20 by sakiqc]
  17. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/HOCK...AN3F5AA6B6.html We got outshot big time, but the Sens prospects were much older than out guys and we still won 1-0...
  18. Ok, We all know Perreault is going to score 6 goals in his first 5 games... that'll give him the second line job. Ribs back to the 4th... this is what I think we'll look like for game 1, or 2... Zednik-Koivu-Audette Bulis-Perreault-Sundstrom Hossa-Juneau-Ward Kilger-Ribs-Dagenais/Dackell Dykhuis/Hainsey-Komisarek/Brisebois Markov-Rivet Souray-Quintal Theo Garon Something is really gotta be done about Briser... sigh.
  19. He's ready mentally and physically... and more important he's hungry. He's just training, no media no commercials, no nothing... just getting ready to lead the Habs. This is the year Jose bounces back, we all know it... GO HABS GO http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/HOCK...AN3F56A593.html :hlogo: [Edited on 2003/9/4 by Habby1197]
  20. Saku to hold out if he doesnt get a contract... saying he'll stay at home. Gainey... sign him. http://www.rds.ca/cgi-bin/nouvelles?site=r...on&sport=#87392
  21. Ryan smith looks like he's up for a big raise... maybe too much for the Oilers. He's exactly the forward we need... the question is what would you give up for him? I'd Send Hossa, Ribs and Dykhuis. That would fit both our needs... wow I love our lines with Smyth. Smyth-Koivu-Audette Bulis-Perreault-Zednik Sundstrom-Juneau-Ward 4th line who cares..... Just Juneau being there bugs me but he'll be gone soon enough.
  22. Geez.... Life isn't fair some times. Really a sad story, best wishes to his family and friends.
  23. He's worth 2.5 million... not much more but thats a fair offer. Bruins are cheap as dirt.
  24. Yup, great work dlbalr those are very nice detailed reports. Maybe they'll help you in SK?? next year
