  1. I've noticed the last two days that my activity level on the forum has been higher than the last few weeks. Why, you might ask? It's because I have so much work to do. I've found the busier I am, the more time I fool around on HW. Interesting.
  2. Let's see: Richardson Foote (IR) Berard Westcott Suchy Tollefsen Johnson Hulse Hainsey Klesla (IR) Look for Tollefsen to be returned to the AHL. When Foote returns, look for Richardson to be moved, as he recently stepped down as captain and seems fed up with the organization. When Klesla returns, it's between Johnson and Hainsey as to who goes down. Johnson is probably better, but does not need to pass waivers. [Edited on 11-30-05 by Fanpuck33]
  3. Sad that Nash is hurt. He is due to return mid-December, so he will have very little time to prove that he is well enough to make the team. He certainly deserves to be on the team when healthy.
  4. lol, read the first page of this thread.
  5. What Columbus needs is a new coach. They have enough good players to be in contention for a low playoff spot. They simply are not getting production from these players. I blame this on the coach. He constantly changes lines, even in the middle of games. How does he expect his team to gain any consistency if they have different lines every night? That being said, Huselius might be a good addition to the team. A 2nd line of Huselius-Brule-Fritsche sounds good to me. Plus, the team never has the same players for too long, so I wouldn't be suprised at all to see him in a Jackets jersey. However, since they picked up Hainsey, do they now get placed on the bottom of the priority list?
  6. For sure. When Colorado visited Columbus, the announcers were talking about how he was so stressed in Montreal that his mother cried because she hated seeing him so down on himself. If anyone is to blame for Breezer leaving, it is the fans. It was their constant harrassment that drove him away. He was the last player left from the '93 Cup team too.
  7. That is an asinine comment. Ottawa traded Bonk long before the "new NHL" was formed. They traded him under the old rules and the old CBA. Who knew that the changes under the CBA would be as dramatic as they were? Nobody. Heck, if the lockout hadn't wiped out a whole season, a lot of these changes likely would not have been made.
  8. I hope he sucks with his new team as much as he sucked in Florida. Why you ask? I traded him yesterday in my fantasy league because he hasn't done much all year and was benched by Florida. If I had known they'd have him, I've have held on a bit longer.
  9. Come on, Delmore couldn't even make the Jackets! Still, he's better than anything we have down in the minors. I forgot about him since he's hurt. He finally seemed to be setling into a decent player in the few games he played this season. [Edited on 11-29-05 by Fanpuck33]
  10. Damn, I miss one game and this happens? I watched the Notre Dame game on Saturday instead of the Jackets game. I had no idea he took the C of his sweater. I think the problem is Gerard Gallant. The team has plenty of offensive talent, they should be doing a lot better than they are. Their D is still weak, but with the way their goalies play most of the time, they should have a much better record. Sure, Nash is hurt, but they still have a lot of players who are capable of scoring. They are the underachievers of the NHL. They've drafted good kids over the last few years too. Nash, Zherdev, LeClaire, Fritsche, Picard, Brule. These guys are going to be good NHLers. The problem is just like the Canadiens though, not much depth on D. Outside of Aaron Johnson (and maybe Ole Tollefsen) they don't have any young talent on D. [Edited on 11-29-05 by Fanpuck33]
  11. I didn't even think of Richardson when I listed all their D, and he's the frikkin' captain. The Jackets clearly need an upgrade at D over a guy like Westcott, but Hainsey?
  12. Looks like you were right Leafs Suck, but I still don't understand why Columbus claimed him.
  13. I doubt Columbus will take him. Andy Delmore is already sitting in the minors for the Jackets. They've currently got Foote, Berard, Suchy, Westcott, Hulse, Tollefson, and Johnson on the NHL squad, with Klesla on IR. Also down in Syracuse they have Andy Delmore. Hainsey might make the team over Tollefsen, but that's it. And if they already have Delmore, why would they take on Hainsey, another offensive D-man who isn't really NHL worthy? As for Pittsburgh, I don't think Hainsey is better than Brooks Orpik, who just became the team's 7th D-man when Tarnstrom returned to the lineup.
  14. Because as deep as we are in forward prospects, we are that shallow on defence. This is why I was rather surprised that the team didn't trade back a few pick in the draft to select Staal or one of the other good D prospects. Komi is really our only good, young D-man, unless Hainsey finally gets his act together.
  15. I'm pretty sure there is a rule that if you claim a waived player, you cannot trade him for either 90 days or the remainded of the season or something like that. Then again, maybe that rule only applied to the waiver draft.
  16. Diving is up and hitting is down. I'm not a huge fan of the new NHL. I think the elimination of the red line has sped the game up too much. Players can no longer go after many open ice hits, because you're now screwed if you lose a guy in the neutral zone. I like that refs are calling penalties, but I agree that this has led to a lot of diving. The refs need to start keeping an eye out for it.
  17. Shoving an official is simpyl idiotic. I don't care that the official deserved it, but you don't respond by shoving the ref. It's just stupid. And if I'm right, he didn't even shove a ref, but a linesman. Sure, the refs screwed up, but that doesn't excuse Markov.
  18. Hehe, there's too many people passing milestones to congratulate each one anymore. I tried to keep up, but I have failed.
  19. Come on, what goalie in the league would not have been taken to school by that move? And to think, I thought the skill stick moves in NHL 06 were unrealistic!
  20. I know! It's incredible! Fight in the Jackets game tonight too, Aaron Johnson vs. Ian Laperriere. Lappy got a few good shots in, not that good a bout.
  21. Was hoping he'd miss a little more time, since I traded him while he was injured.
  22. In her article she mentions a few goons, one of which was Jody Shelley. Perhaps "Big Ugly"is the Jacket she knows? Sadly enough, aside from Nash, Shelley is the most popular player in C-bus.
  23. Why the hell would the Habs want this nut job? The guy is an alcoholic. Twice he's told the police that he is a white European (Karlis Skrastins and Andreas Lilja). The man has some serious issues. What the hell is wrong with wearing a visor? It's common f-ing sense. Sticks have been up for years and guys have had some pretty serious injuries. If you ask me, visors should be mandatory.
