His heart wasn't in Columbus, his heart wasn't in Winnipeg, now maybe his heart isn't in LA. Maybe his heart just isn't into hockey? I think that would be the likelier scenario over pining for Montreal.
Conspiracy theory but I’ve had a sneaking suspicion for a while that PLD will be in the player assistance program at some point.

Kings and Edmonton has kind of been a bananas game. Chaotic hockey with spurts of great chances.
Dubois looks like he isn’t competing very hard. Perhaps he is injured, perhaps his heart is in Montreal.

The Tavares penalty should of been 2 each, but stick holding is almost never called. You see players tuck the stick under their arm and squeeze because it'll be called a hook 50 times before it's called holding the stick. Tavares did hold McAvoy.
Leafs fans are livid on reddit. I don't understand how getting twice the amount of PP's as the other team are the refs against them.
Offsetting penalties would have been better but with 2 minutes to go in the game and both players were being shits, refs should have let it go.
Leafs crying about it is nonsense too because Boston got screwed by the refs too.
Fun game to watch

Bruins gotta start Swayman going forward!
That Tavares penalty at the end of the third was ridiculous. I’m still laughing about it. Leafs got screwed but they were losing anyway.
Bruins, please win on Saturday

I am rooting for Roy, very unlikely he wins this series, but I am rooting for him.
He is a passionate hockey "lifer" and has a very intense coaching style, while showing his deep knowledge-of and respect-for the game in interviews. I think he is an interesting coach to follow.
I want Roy to win as well.
The “incident” did break my heart and I was angry at all sides, including Roy. I let that go when his number was raised.
I will never forget 1986 - Roy was beyond incredible and 1993 wasn’t far off. I’m a fan for life

Mailloux, CC and Winnipeg's first for Zegras and Ducks #1 ... as an opening offer
23 minutes ago, Habs Fan in Edmonton said:That is an interesting trade proposal. It certainly gives Anaheim something they are looking for. To get something you have to give something up and CC is certainly a very good piece. This is actually one of the better trade proposals I have seen as it made me think a lot about who is getting the better deal. I think it's pretty fair. Well thought out.
I would think both teams want to see how the ping pong balls fall before entertaining something like this.
This is indeed an interesting offer.
Ducks get their RD and top 6 forward
Habs get a replacement for CC and a top player from this draft.
Actually seems fair

An important factor to take into account when considering any trade proposals involving Anaheim
In terms of the draft ... Leshunov, Helenius or Parekh might fit the bill ... unless he means players already in the NHL.
Mailloux for? -
What a game by Colorado
Screw you Nashville
I can’t stand old, slow Washington
Battle of Florida is boring
I hope Boston crushes the leafs tonight

I used to despise the Canucks. Moved to the Vancouver area during the "West Coast Express" era and was appalled when the fan base rallied in support of Bertuzzi when he viciously ended Steve Moore's career. Then I heard endless fan moaning about "the Sedin Sisters" (until 2011, when that garbage finally shut up). I wanted no part of Canuckleheads Nation.
However, I find myself feeling these days that they've suffered enough. This is a traumatized fanbase, rife with pessimism and a sense of perpetual doom and gloom; and to lose the devastating way they did in 2011, to be followed by over a decade of complete managerial ineptitude, has been years of unremitting agony for these fans. Even this year - a magical year by any measure - huge chunks of the fanbase could not bring themselves to even hope that the team was for real. It was almost comical; I made money by betting my friends that the Canucks would make the playoffs. Naturally they couldn't make that bet fast enough. This fanbase is always waiting for the anvil to fall on its head.
This team also has players on it that are right up my alley - particularly Quinn Hughes, who is a real artist. But they have a lot of quality players I either respect or like, including Demko.
So yeah, I wouldn't mind seeing them go all the way this year. It's not going to happen now, IMHO.
I have no idea why I actually like the Canucks but it might be because they are the only Canadian team that hasn’t offended me.
Leafs, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Ottawa - I strongly dislike for one dumb reason or another but the Canucks are cool.

A "rumour" so crazy even Tony Marinaro can see it:
Gallagher and Anderson for PLDI might at least think about it for a second ... before saying NO.
I would do that deal because it’s worth the risk to me.
I thought PLD played pretty well last night and I have more hope for a PLD rebound than an Anderson rebound.
7 more years on that contract sure would suck if PLD flatlined though.

The only scenario that could be worse would be to lose Hughes.
I had a feeling about the Canucks this year - they look ready for a deep run - but I doubt they can survive more than a couple of games without Demko.
Canucks were my Canadian hope. I genuinely hope the team coalesces and gets out of round 1.
Perhaps Demko can return for round 2
Screw Winnipeg, screw Edmonton and screw the leafs twice.

Sources tell @DailyFaceoff: #Canucks Thatcher Demko is out for Game 2. His status for the series is questionable.
What a kick in the face for Vancouver

If you take their age difference as an indicator of the potential for the younger one to improve. Kovacevic (26) has had 4 more years than Barron (22) to develop.
At 22, Kovacevic was in the AHL: 29Games 2g 12a 14pts
Barron's combined AHL;NHL: 80Games 9g 15a 24pts
So, IMHO, there is hope for Barron.
I agree there is hope, you just have more of that hope than I do.
If the plan is to move Guhle back to the left side that would leave Reinbacker, Mailloux, Kovasevic, Barron. With Harris as a pivot.
Barron has opportunities there

But, perhaps better to allow Mailloux to "fully bake" in the AHL and put up with Barron in the short -term ... for the start of next season, it isn't a question of picking who will be the better player in 2-3-4 years but where each player is best placed for the benefit of the Habs in 2-3-4 years.
This makes perfect sense and I expect it will be how HuGo approach it.48 minutes ago, alfredoh2009 said:
in my potato head eyes, he would be a good replacement for Kovacevic down the road.
I know that I’m in the minority here but I think Kovacevic is far ahead of Barron.
Kovasevic is pushing the boundaries of second pairing (he can’t handle it yet).
Barron is pushing the boundaries of #7 Dman
IMO

I watched quite a few Laval Rocket games this season and I do not think Mailloux is ready.
Despite the criticism, Barron does a better job in the NHL than Mailloux.
Also, Hutson needs time to develop his potential. Let’s not rush him.
Im not sure that Barron has a NHL career, I think he is on the borderline.
Having said that, I noticed an improvement in his Dzone play when he got called up in the late season. He made simple box out plays and was much better at covering his man.
Maybe he has enough growth left to have a bottom pairing role.

The play by play guy for the leafs game last night after Mathews scored, “well there it is! Goal number 70 for Austin Mathews”
Thats not how it works you leaf homer
I dislike the team but the media around the leafs is intolerable.
-
Edmonton looks like they could sweep the series. LA looks shell shocked, like they are barely holding on.
Can’t believe the Islanders blew a three goal lead. Not sure they have a chance

Ullmark has been good in this game. Really good.
Can’t argue, he made some great saves and he isn’t the reason bruins lost.
Toronto was the better team unfortunately.

2-2 😱 End of second.
Ullmark makes me nervous. He has made some good saves but he is flopping and giving rebounds.
-
End of period goal for Boston is excellent 👍🎉
-
I don’t like Ullmark in net. He was terrible last year against Florida. I get that Boston rotated goalies all season but this is the playoffs man.
Swayman played great last game.

ROSTER UPDATE: We have recalled goaltender Ivan Prosvetov from the Colorado Eagles.
In addition, goaltender Arvid Holm has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles

Nobody believes Caufield is even possibly being traded.
It was a very interesting proposal In terms of value and would it be worth it.
