I would like Xhekaj to use his size and fighting ability as a threat, to keep other teams from trying to bully the Habs—the sheriff is an apropos nickname for that.
What I don’t want to see is him dropping his gloves with every two-bit goon that is trying to make a name for himself. Sitting in the box for five or more is a net loss for the Habs, and risking injury even more so.
So, not suggesting that he never fight, only that he use some discretion on when to do it.
Is there even fights like that anymore?
The only guys who will fight Xhekaj are the ones we want him to stay away from fighting.

Emelin didnt fight because of previous injury. Why not Arber?

I want to know the potential trade value in Arber. What would teams give up for him?

If you had a chance to reverse the last two drafts. Would you trade Demidov + Reinbacher for Michkov + one of the dmen available in this years draft?

And he's not skating with them at the moment due to injury.
Of course. He is now a hab so of course he is injured. 😖

Or that Carolina showed it can be a BIG mistake to make things goofy & personal to try and get even.
Dont think Habs are worse off because of Oho or KK offersheets?
Id love to know what would have happened if we couldve resigned Kotka for like 1.5-2.5 M/year and never wasted cap on Dvorak.
-
Maybe they learned from Bergevin that the payback for offersheeting can be hard.

Reading on tsn and it looks like this leafs prospect Easton Cowan is the next Crosby.
Is he very good or are they just blowing extra air in the leafsballoon?

Except for the fact his big injuries happened when playing his natural side.
Ah ok. Then maybe his wrong side is actually his right side? 😁

Smart? its genius. All indication point to this being a bargain contract as soon as next year! Slav was one of the best forwards in every game he played at the WC. He is going to blow up this season. Especially with big Kirby Dach taking some of the attention off of Slav.
and for less than Cole!
I thought he looked soso in wc and had a bit bad attitude on the ice. Scared me abit.

Maybe its playing on his off side is whats getting him clocked by hard hits so often.

Id love to see Saku's reaction.

I cant wait to see them eliminated in round one again next year.

I hope he will do a Henrik Zetterberg and emerge as a star coming from Timrå.

It reminds me of the Drouin trade.
If its Guhle straight up for Zegras I am a bit tempted because Im nervous Guhle will take a hit to many and become damaged goods. On the other hand Guhle scored 5 points in the world championship while Zegras had only 2.
I think Ill pass as well.

Fun trade proposal I saw in facebook.
Josh Anderson and 5th overall to Calgary for 9th overall and Huberdeau (4M retained)
-
Last year Florida were decimated by injuries in the finals. I think they will win it all now. I hope we can end up a team built like them.

I don't think its a given that the defencemen available at 5 project as better than Reinbacher. More offensive, maybe... but in terms of an all around defenceman.... I think the only Levshunov and Silayev would be ahead of Reinbacher and there is a good chance they aren't there at 5. I'm kinda hoping both of them go, and Demidov falls to us.
Yes, Im hoping for Demidov too. We have our powerforward in Slaf, our sniper in Caufield och our playmakeing C in Suzuki.
Now give us a winger ala Datsyuk. Is he abit like Datsyuk?
-
Better MB goes to Canes so he can reunite with kk. 😁
-
Slafs Slokavia crushed by Sweden. 6-1.
But at least Slaf got a nice assist.

I hope he plays more inspired than against Poland...

If Demidov falls to us is he a nobrainer?

Or is he another Mike Hoffman?
THAT is what teams have to assess. The simple ability to score goals is not the be-all and end-all.
I read some place that he is very good offensively overall as well. Its his defence that needs work.

Id trade Gallagher + a 2nd rounder for him. Think they would bite? 😁
Anderson and a 4th?
