  1. I watched Mike Johnson and Craig Button talking about when its time for the habs to compete and Button said its time to aim for playoffs next season. Made me think and then Ill just throw it out here.

If we dont win the draft lottery would it be worth sending our 7-8th overall pick to the pens for a salary retained Sid Crosby including a conditional 1st next year (the worst of our two pics) if he resigns/we win the cup. Maybe them taking Armia or maybe Gallagher as well if possible...

  2. Pierre Dagenais playing with Ribeiro?

With Ylonen, I've always thought he's the type of player who has to have skilled linemates to succeed.  Stick him on the fourth line with a centre who scores 5 goals a year and Pezzetta and it's not going to end well; he doesn't have the skill-set to elevate a group.  He's a complementary player who can shoot and skate, and not a whole lot else.

But put him with a pure playmaker and he should have some success as a player that just gets to the open spots and is ready to fire.  Accordingly, he might fit on a third line with a team with better depth with linemates that are more skilled offensively that will make the most of his shooting ability.  In Montreal, they're trying to make him more of a two-way guy since they're putting him with players who most nights have no hopes of scoring.  That's a role he has never had before and the end result has been a lot of mediocrity.

I wasn't saying that he is not a very interesting prospect ... just that the added hype value (i.e., his fighting) doesn't influence GMs the way it does fans and media, I-M-O.

He has alot of hype not only for fighting.

I think there is a big risk he will never have as high value in a trade as now. Doesnt meant we have to trade him though.

Chelios was a Norris winner when he was traded. Wifi has done exactly what????

I don’t want to move him either, but comparing the idiotic trade to move Chelios for a pretty much washed up Savard, can never be a comparable for any potential deal for wifi.

I think the D right is be most willing to move right now is Harris as part of a package with the Calgary or Jets pick for a stud young forward.

And while I would not be liking to even consider moving Guhle for Zegras+. If we were offered Zegras for Wifi, I’d be making that deal before Verbeek went in for a much needed lobotomy.

wifi is no Chelios, McDonough, and probably won’t even be a Sergechev. He can probably carve out an Odelin type career. Best case scenario would be a Desjardins light, but I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

Wifi also have alot of added hype value that could give us more in a trade than we deserve.

They are teenagers who went into a hostile environment and won gold against the home team

Then sweden started taking cheapshots late in the game.

    Thats what i object to

Stop em from scoring, dont go to cheapshots cause you lost.

What cheapshots do you mean? The blindside hit by usa in 2nd period? The stickswing by usa in 2nd period? Both uncalled.

Disagree.  If you dont like how people celebrate than play better.  Throwing punches at the winner was being the sore losers here.

I guess Im a bit biased. But no doubt USA was the best team and well deserved winners.
