  1. Yeah, anything we can happen, but I feel really confident that Boston won't beat Montreal with the style their playing. If Boston starts trapping, maybe they'll come back.

That would be the smart move but I think that Boston are of the opinion that they played well but didn't get lucky. I think they'll focus on their turnover problem and lack of Chara last night.

They'll probably come to the conclusion that they weren't playing physical enough and look for answers in the wrong places.

Just guessing here, but I don't think the Bruins will realize they got out played and out coached.

  2. I like BTH's post because what I take away from it is that trying to predict who will win a series is like trying to predict a coin toss.

Yet analysts will make their case as though they have inside knowledge and insight that no one else possesses.

They're guessing just as much as anyone else, and it really puts the whole profession into perspective.

  3. I like the tact that the Habs themselves are taking with regards to this series. One game at a time, let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. 2 wins is not 4.

Don't get me wrong I'm really excited and confident in our team but as we all know " on any night, anything can happen "

Lets win round 1 and go from there.

It's been an outstanding 2 games though. Defiantly worth a dancing banana, which doesn't seem to be working right now.

  4. The Bruins aren't winning this series. Nothing suggests to me that they can beat Montreal 4 out of 5 times, with 3 games in the Bell Centre, and all momentum on Montreal's side.

I'm not as confident for the second round as I am against Boston though.

The series isn't won yet but I fully expect that the Habs will take it, be it in 4,5,or 6 games. I'm not so concerned about round 2 yet, just enjoying the 2 game lead against a team that was 'supposed to' sweep in 4.

If / when we make it to round 2, I think this series against Boston will be a huge building block moving forward and I have a lot of confidence in our guys.

Can't wait for Monday nights game in MTL.

The confidence in the Boston locker room must be steadily eroding, now the Habs have 2 games with the home town crowd to further energize them.

  5. This game is huge. Game One is always the least important (although the Habs really got as much out of a Game One win as you possibly can, sending the entire city of Boston scurrying for anti-depressants and clearly exposing the Bruins's limitations). If we win tonight, the series is not "over" but the odds skew just massively in the Habs's favour and the Bruins stand in grave danger of falling apart under the weight of their own neuroses.

As others have said, the Bruins understand exactly what is on the line tonight and will bring EVERYTHING they've got. I've been a little nervous, not about the habs, but about what seems to be excessive confidence among Habs fans - it feels like bad karma - but then again this savvy and battle-scarred team doesn't seem to give a sh*t about that stuff. They've got a job to do.

    :1gohabs:

You're nervous that Habs fans are feeling confident that their team will win? What are they supposed to be feeling?

Bad karma is Chara running Patches, not the hopes of an enthusiastic fan base.

Even if the Bruins bring EVERYTHING they've got ( funny that they couldn't bring it to an important game 1 ) that's fine, the Habs can deal with it, they know what they need to do. They did it Thursday and I'll bet they can do it again tonight.

  6. Hope the Habs keep up the great defensive play and get another early lead.

If we can notch a second win tonight, reenforcing doubt in the Bruins fragile meathead psyche, it'll be a fun return to the Bell Centre Monday.

And while it would be an incredible long shot, the ultimate irony would be a Habs sweep in 4.

    3-1 Habs

No need to say anything Joe. Dancing banana says it all.

  7. There's another one on that site (NESN) calling out a Hab fan for excessively celebrating in front of a little kid, they call it taunting. I didn't watch the clip myself so I can't speak to the validity of the assessment but you can tell the purpose of the post was to give Boston fans a chance to gripe about the Habs...and Canada in some cases.

For anyone curious, this is the clip they were talking about on NESN:

Not sure the little kid even noticed what was going on behind him.

Boston's really taking that one loss hard. They are aware that it takes 4 wins to eliminate a team from the playoffs right?

  9. Well that didn't take long; 1 game, 1 player calling out Subban. I think I'll hold off from posting this on the main site but I'll note it here anyways.

I'm really starting to enjoy reading these Boston call outs after they lose and before big games.

The comments section below that article and in the linking pages are gold.

Your team is full of divers...well your team is full of goons. Hahahaha.

I love this time of year.

  10. Bump.

A lot of good things happened last night for a team that people were losing confidence in 3 weeks ago.

We're only one game in so it's nothing to take for granted but the Habs played great defensively and Price was outstanding.

Even Gomer's getting in on the action.

Hope we can keep it up Saturday and get back to the Bell Centre with another win.

  11. I hate to analyze body language or interpret feelings, but when are the Bruins going to stop this child like nonsense when they don't get their way?

They seem to be easily frustrated, can they be that mentally soft?

It had to be intensely frustrating for the Bruins. Game 1 at home, loads of good chances, but nothing.

We'll see how soft they are Saturday.

  12. I love hearing the comments about the Bruins fans leaving the TD garden after the second goal. Bruins fans got a little taste of humility tonight.

Though it may be unfounded as there are many games to go, I think Montreal successfully planted the seed of doubt. The beginnings anyway.

    Saturday night's gonna be great.

  13. Switched to the Philly game for the intermission don't wanna hear cherry start making excuses or ripping on PK

Looks good so far, Eller seems nervous it should pass though, I hope Ak is Ok

Cherry just praised Price and his speaking positively about MTL using their speed. It's all thumbs up Montreal talk so far.

    Bizarro Cherry.

    But he can't pronounce Luongo.

  14. I just got back to my hotel and can only listen in on CJAD - unfortunately no habs games available in arizona. Sounds like White was playing a good game until the dumb penalty on the PP. What happened to Ak46???

He blocked a Chara shot and took the hit just above his skate. Left the bench and hasn't been back yet. No updates as of right now.
