  1. If you are talking to me I suggest you read what I said.. I said it will be over IF they don't push back.. They got the PP goal and woke up, which is what I was hoping for. If they didn't get going, they were going to be done like dinner. Actually, thank Ryder for taking a dumb penalty to kill the Bruins momentum :)

No Brobin I was not aiming that post at you.

    I will say this though.

Being positive and being wrong at worst is being naive.

Being negative and wrong is being an ass.

There are many miles to go in this game and after the season we've had anyone who knows the Habs should know that they are full of surprises.

You pointing it out is about as lame as the negativity.

That's funny. Me being excited about the Habs tying is lame. Nice.

  2. crap.. that all started by their failure to clear the zone, twice....

Bruins are killing them.. I don't want to be negative, but this is almost over. They just gave up two goals and have had no pressure. call a timeout and get on your horses.

This is far from over. Give the guys more credit than that.

  3. Someone should buy that book for Gomez. :)

I suspect Gomez is not much of a reader, probably more of a books on tape kinda guy.

He probably spent many rainy Sunday afternoons on the couch soaking up ' The Art of Scoring the biggest contract of your life ' as read by ilya Kovalchuk.

  4. Many of you may not know this but Sun Tzu the great Chinese military general and philosopher was a Montreal Canadiens fan.

Which is funny cause I woulda pegged him as a Canucks fan geographically.

When asked if the Habs would take game 7, he had this to say:

Confront them with annihilation, and they will then survive; plunge them into a deadly situation, and they will then live.

When people fall into danger, they are then able to strive for victory.

Later when asked how the Habs would dispatch their age old foes he added:

"The opportunity to secure ourselves against defeat lies in our own hands, but the opportunity of defeating the enemy is provided by the enemy himself."

It's a little hard to decipher but I think he's talking about the dismal Boston power play here.

Wow, hockey analysis from 481 BC was much more insightful than the crap we get nowadays.

  5. Being mildly superstitious I'm going to re post this with a slight modification at the end:

    Montreal will win.

Not maybe, could or might. Will.

No " the smart money's" or " Just to be fair's " I will say this again...Montreal will win.

Anyone who posts to the contrary before the final buzzer will be held personally responsible for a loss, should it happen.

    But it won't.

Round 2 is but a few days away.

  6. NOW LET'S GO GET THE WIN AND LEAVE THOSE F*CKERS CRYING! :habslogo::habslogo::habslogo::habslogo:

    Hear Hear Cucs!!!

The Boston tears will flow tonight once they realize they are out of the playoffs.

No better place for Boston to lose than in the Garden.

    Go Habs Go!!!

    P.S.

Who's doing the honors with the game thread? Soops, beginners luck seemed to work out well.

I need a place to wax poetic about another Montreal victory.

  7. We pushed it to game 7, great. However, the 3rd period was awful. Were the players told to defend on that late powerplay? Instead of attack? What happens in game 7, if we don't get TWO 5-3 powerplays? If most of us are sick of this rope-a-dope style, how must the players feel? The way this team plays must drive Kirk Muller crazy. He never played like that.

It was a quick whistle away from being 3-1. 2-1 is nothing to sneeze at, most of these games have been one goal games.

The Habs certainly weren't pushing offense in the 3rd but they did a good enough job of collapsing + the ever present luck factor - as evidenced by the final score.

Searching for more goals and being lax on defense is what got us into trouble in game 4 so I can understand the decision to try and hold the lead through the latter half of the 3rd.

It worked for games one and two.

We won. There is going to be a game 7. It's been an exciting night.
