  1. just watching the highlights. Bob Cole-really? And lisping Dave Randorf doing the Boston game? Hopefully Rogers will clean house. I really get aggravated when the opposing team scores a goal and the tv cameras just have to pan to the two Buffalo fans in the crowd both wearing jerseys at least ten years out of date. Same deal at other games.
  2. the record of losses when Dave Lewis officiates continues..................................hope he gets a lump of coal in his stocking
  3. decent game. Tokarski saved their bacon a couple times on give aways by Thomas and Schistel that would likely have been goals if Mayday had been in the same situation. Too bad they couldn't have played like this last night in front of the myriad Leaf fans populating the building. PK was solid again-Cleveland had 8 power plays, we had 5. PP still needs work. I really have grown to admire Nick Tarnasky's worth ethic. With about 8 minutes to go, he got a stick up in the visor from the Monster's d man trailing him and just kept on going. (There was no call as the single ref was out of position). Other players would have thrown their head back in agony and milked it for all it's worth. He just kept going after the puck. He deserves a big attaboy for sure
  4. you guys summed up things well. Another nite that we felt like we were not the home team-way too much blue and white in the building and very few genuine Marlie jerseys. JMO but the roughest crowds as far as drinking, etc seems to be when Leaf fans show up. Appeared to be a number of underagers drinking who were being supplied by friends. A definite turn off for first time fans. A lot of glass bangers who seem to want to be seen rather than having a genuine interest in the game. Mayer was ok and didn't have much help again. Blunden missing sure goals from point blank was aggravating. Well at least I got a free ticket from the officer at the Ride Check on York Blvd on the way home. Things started off oddly when they announced the referees as being Ciamaga and J Koharski who were the refs Wed in Rochester, not tonight. I'm just so tired of seeing the blue and white but there is method in the madness re bringing in bodies to the building. On the other hand, I'm sure there are fans of the New England teams and their parents wondering why we never see them but see teams from 2000 miles away. . I just watched DW's post game report with Ms. Barney on Youtube and I tend to agree that penalties were not called equally. Is it goalie interference if a player is pushed into the goalie by a defenseman?. Cheap tripping calls on us/more blantant infractions on them no call. Marlie player (Broll) removed his own helmet during the fight with JT. Isn't that a two minute minor? Please send Graham Skilleter a rule book. In Sept, this was pointed out when Broll did the same as a Leaf in an exhibition game vs Philly.
  5. crime around where he lived was the usual five pan handlers you see outside the Copps every game. I agree with Commandant.(ps- Lot more crime in Montreal than Hamilton per capita. Starts there with the politicians)
  6. quite the difference in a week-nice to see Stumpy Jr get his first goal as a Dog. Dustin has definitely made it known by his actions, who is the number one goalie 3-0 final. Dustin stops over 40 shots
  7. yep-third game in a row. Finally, a number one goaltender
  8. Dogs up 3-0 at the end of two. Blunden, Ellis, and Dumont with goals. Don-I think DW mentioned around 8,000
  9. -nice 5-1 finale -Quailer got the Gordie Howe Hat trick -best Dogs game all season -Tarnasky looked like the guy from the start of the season -stayed out of the penalty box which was a key except for the 5(!) fights -Texas seemed to be going after Dumont and Thomas and could have easily been called for dumping them constantly away from the puck -will have to let the post game show guys know that I don't want to listen to Joe Bowen doing a Phil Kessel call and then just mention the Montreal score without telling us Max got the trick -small crowd but record number of pan handlers outside Jackson Square
  10. Brian: you mentioned Chris Lee was one of the officials. Is he to the Habs, what I consider Dave Lewis is to the Bulldogs (that is not a neutral observer and hates our organization)??????
  11. I just edited my original post with some game thoughts.....................
  12. I think I would only blame Robert for one of the four. The fourth one pinballed off about three bodies and up over Robert's shoulder and in. I'm still seeing too much Beaulieu too. I think (IMO) we actually dominated a great part of the game but the garbage goals took the wind out of the team's sails ps-Tarnasky looks like he's labouring getting back up ice. Not the fastest guy to begin with but has slowed down a lot recently. Not sure if he's nursing an injury. Power play pretty pathetic again especially when we had almost a full two man advantage for over a minute an a half. Referee Knorr missed calls both ways and called some bizarre ones too. Sly seemed to let some of the D like Pateryn and Tinordi pinch way too late after the game was pretty well decided. Tinordi had a long discussion with Knorr at the start of the third re a penalty call on him for "holding" in the offensive zone when it appeared the reverese. Ex Bulldog ass't coach Randy Ladouceur is an assistant with Cleveland. Ex Dog JT Wyman did a fair bit of damage tonight. I guess I am getting ticked off because of the team record but little things like sponsored power plays, sponsored penalty kils, sponsored box office (!), late goal and penalty announcements are becoming truly annoying
  13. Aliu released from his PTO about an hr ago. Sorry as I thought he showed some early season hustle
  14. thanks Brian. It's just getting so damn frustrating. Even the fan club here hasn't sold out the trip to Mtl which used to be an automatic. Today we were lucky also as Rochester hit two posts while DK was out of position. Count to ten, take a deep breath, and look forward to Friday (even though my mother in law will be with us)
  15. not sure if he'd see much of interest after todays game. Varone's goal was like the parting of the red sea. Unfortunately St. Pierre missed from directly in front of the net with 20 seconds to go which would have tied the game. . My eardrums are still bleeding. Next year I might just stay home for this one-ushers couldn't control the kids running up the aisles while play was on and their teacher/chaperones were just as bad. Two kids got nailed by pucks too. I wonder sometimes if 10% of the kids there actually care and the rest are just there for a day out of class. STH's are getting a bad feeling that there will be no playoffs again for the third straight year. Pres of the club (Steve O) seemed to indicate on Radley's show last night that it's all about group sales. Did any of you guys happen to listen on the internet broadcast.??? Did they do a post game show and if so, other than saying Derek 80 times, did Al have any thoughts about the game ??? ps-trying to remember the last time the Dogs won a game when Dave Lewis was one of the Zebras?
  16. Guess I should have Brian (checked this site re the call up) but I can't be on this darn thing constantly-lol (that's what my wife says). Trizzak-my wife agrees with you 100%. Don-Sven is "Joe Hustle" for sure and I am impressed. Small, but If he can put on a bit on weight before next season, the sky is the limit. It wasn't all bad today. Won a Hortons $130.00 coffee maker. Crowd was poor again with the Tiger Cats playing up Hwy 6 in Guelph. Auctioned some of the special jerseys off from last game and many went for the minimum $200.00 reserve (maybe they should have waited until a game with a larger crowd for the silent auction)-of course, they are butt ugly and the team never does well wearing specials jerseys-lost 8-0 last time they had a remembrance day jersey during a previous season. Breezebye was at the game again and saw Randy Cunnysworth scouting for Buffalo ps-wore my Thinel Quebec Citadelles jersey-amazing how many folks ask what team it is (including Dogs staff-so much for knowing team history)
  17. First Utica goal went in off Leblanc's skate (in slow motion!). It just seems we've got into this horrible pattern of outshooting the opposition badly in the first period with no results, and then go into the usual funk in the second. Beaulieu was trying to be a one man band with no success. Tinordi still not living up to his press clippings. Honestly didn't know Pateryn and Dumont got called up until I got home and turned on Facebook. Blunden and Nats need to practice shooting at the broad side of a barn as they are missing it when the opportunity arises. Nice to see Duffy back playing.... Breaking out the earplugs for the Wed morning Kid's game. Post game show made it sound like no tickets are for sale for this game. They have us STH's herded in section 108
  18. gotta fix that Don. Will change to where's Delmas?
  19. 6-1 final. We left near the end of the second period when it was 5-0 and by the time we got to the truck, it was 6-0. Sven scored less than an minute to go to break the shut out. Game was very close in the first half of the first and first half of the second. I guess I don't trust the mickey mouse video review which seems to take ages to set up and which we never get to see on the score board after the goal determination. It just seems the returns from Mtl haven't helped and may have actually disrupted the pairings we had previous on D. correct Don-the Tin man looks ordinary
  20. a few thoughts-I missed some of the game because of a group of Dutch exchange students sitting ahead of us who would not wait for a whistle before jumping up for Natchos and a teenage usher who would not ride herd on them. Marty St. Pierre had a horrible game regardless of his one goal. He made some horrible gaffs in the Dogs end giving away the puck and his frustration was evident. Naatinen seems to be getting a lot of chances but can't seem to finish them off. Aliu was the vicitim of some trash talk by some of his former team mates and I think it got under his skin. The hooking penalty he took was a really bad call-one handed reach-and I think his minutes in the third were cut back Peter Delmas announced as a scratch! I heard he had been bouncing around the ECHL rather than staying in Wheeling Abbotsford back up goalie was the goalie for the University of Toronto signed last minute due to a call up. Dumont got a bad goalie interference penalty when directed into Ortio by a Flames D man. Officials actually a little extra sensitive to the Flames goalie situation???? Burlington's Josh Jooris, who plays for Abbotsford, had about 40 relatives in the crowd and was a scratch! Finally-now the novelty is over, finally checked out the Anchor Bar in Jackson Square. Stay away from the "Beef on Weck". It is absolutely nothing like the product in Niagara Falls NY and Buffalo. Beef tasted like smoke-had cheese on it-and it sure wasn't a NY state Kumelweck roll
  21. one Rochester goal, Mayer was definitely cheating the wrong way. Anyone hear of Aliu was hurt in the third period, didn't seem to play that much???. St. Pierre got one in the boot that definitely hurt but he seemed to shake it off. I think there was a new defensive pairing tonight (5-22) that didn't jell quite as expected. Disappointing crowd again-really just a poor sporting town. They talk a good game but really don't support anything to a great degree. Joint will likely be jumping on Sunday for all the wrong reasons
  22. definitely banana worthy but like I posted, don't look anyone in the eye while eating it. It's a shame the crowd was only around 2,000 folks but I guess it's to be expected on a Tuesday with the Laffs and Habs on TV locally. Sort of thought the three star selection may have indictated they had been chosen before the Dog's comeback. Impressed how we finally have a couple tough guys in Nick and Akim who can actually score (and seem to have some speed to boot). There were a smattering of Rockford fans in the crowd but they were wearing Blackhawk jerseys that seem to have marks from jumping on the bandwagon. No genuine Ice Hog jerseys to be found. Rockford have some really big guys including a 6'9" Viktor Svedburg. Also have ex Dog Brad Winchester (Edmonton prospect) on the roster
  23. final 2-1 Marlies. Mike Blunden got his second goal of the season. I honestly didn't listen but when I saw Dave Jackson and Dean Morton as the officials, my hopes went out the door. Honestly, I think Jackson hates us and Morton has a history from a decade ago
