Mattheson and Guhle play amongst the hardest opponents in the league.

I dont think Anderson and Dvorak is a pairing that can't be together. No more than Anderson and anyone else.

I was hoping Roy to continue to show if he can be a viable 2nd line option with Dach. But looks like he is gone as for the year as well😳
i think Roy will eventually be a 2nd line player. However, considering that we have little depth on the third line, and that he will be a rookie still, and only in his second year of pro hockey, I think starting him on the third line is a better idea.I still think we need to go out and get another elite gamebreaker for the 2nd line this summer.
Also I think that Gallagher and Anderson together on the third line just doesn't work. Neither of them pass the puck enough.
Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovsky
_________ - Dach - Newhook
Roy - Dvorak - Anderson
Armia - Evans - Gallagher
Extras: RHP and Pezzetta
Would be ideal for lines 2-4 next year.
Now Dvorak is a placeholder to allow Beck to stay one more year in the minors. or if you can trade Dvorak and get someone else great, but right now I don't think you are going to be able to trade him, so that's likely his spot. Same with Anderson/Gallagher. They aren't going to be traded so you have to find them slots.

We’ll see about Beck, but I agree re: Evans.
Can someone explain to me how it is that Armia spent years being complete dog poop, then gets sent down and comes back as a completely different player? What the hell happened? Did he stare into the abyss of career failure and have a transformative, “come to Jesus” moment? Or has he just been on the longest hot streak of his career and will eventually revert back to his norm of stinking out the joint?
I don't think this is the longest hot streak of his career.... he's had good full seasons at this level of play before.
Its the best he's been in a couple years (since the cup run really) though, and the other seasons were pre-pandemic so maybe harder to remember.

What the hell? Why not pull the goalie and have Matheson with them too?

I went to the game as well as I was out in Canmore for a wedding.
The Habs dominated when the first line is on the ice. When the 2nd line was out there it was 50/50. The third and fourth, hemmed in the Habs end.
Wolf also played really well and the Habs hit two posts, could've been a lot closer.
On defence Guhle was very hit and miss. Hes getting some of that gambler from his partner in Matheson. Xhekaj played really well.

If a goalie is capable of playing shutout hockey as a statement, wouldn’t he do it more often, maybe to gain starter status?
No, I think Primeau played a good game and had a few pucks bounce his way. But not likely an intentional statement.
Agreed 100%. Many times we put narratives to things when many times its just simple as having a good game

Obviously the medical/training staff is recommending it ... but when the Habs describe it as a "therapy day" it clearly implies some sort of treatment is involved, not just rest.
Have the Habs ever said "rest day" for any player? I think therapy day is just the generic term they use for missing practice without an injury reason.

I wouldnt trade a 2025 first rounder for a pick in the teens. This team may not be good again and that pick could be higher than that.
-
Xhekaj having a rough one. Got bailed out on his first big mistake but the second big one ends in a goal. He cant keep letting McCann behind him.

Important for D&D to be skating regularly by the end of the season in order for them to have a normal summer preparing for training camp ... with Allen gone, White could come off IR at any time without causing a roster issue.
There are no roster limits now, just call up limits (and the cap).
The 23 man limit is gone as of the trade deadline.

His advanced stats show that he belongs and in fact he's helping his linemates to better stats too.

Machessault is a UFA as well as Hannifin, Mantha and Stephenson. Somebody not going to get resigned.
Prediction: Hanifin will be signed the other 3 will walk. Alec Martinez will be traded.

Roy deserves to play in the NHL and his development will be accelerated by playing NHL competition.
You prioritize his development over a win or two for Laval every day of the week.

I just read that report about this season and next before I posted 💩Much tougher to play half the games next season only - I’m not so confident anymore
Maybe the other Devils goalies will get hurt.

Im glad they chose Primeau as the backup over Allen.
He may be moved later but for now bet on the youth.

Habs retain 50%

I honestly can't see KK being bought out. What I can see if the Cannes dump KK is him admitting that there was collusion before UFA day regarding his offer sheet.
There is NO ####ING WAY this Happens. This is delusional.
The canes would be fined a massive amount and have draft picks stripped if they admit to this. Meanwhile KK would never play in the league again.
You know who else would be done in the NHL? His agent.
This is business not some conspiracy shit.

So Roy will be loaned to Laval today "on paper' and then recalled tomorrow? Is that correct.
Likely yes

You can cheer for whoever or whatever you want. You can be a fan of whoever and whatever you want.
I just will always cheer for whatever helps the Habs the most. Cause I cheer for the Habs over everything else. The logo on the front, not the name on the back of the jersey.
