  1. Habs are imploding. They look like the Bruins used to in series vs us.
  2. If you've ever wondered what the Habs PP would look like without Weber, that was it.
  3. Not a straight blues like Tin Pan Alley, but the Bobby Blue Bland version of "Who Will the Next Fool Be" works.
  4. Galchenyuk is what he is-a solid first line winger or 1A center that has some adventures in his own zone. I can see what the coaches see, in that during the time after his penalty when he got stuck on the PK, he was lost. They were still on a defacto 4v3. He bunched up to the other forward and the box looked like a rhombus. You have to take yes for an answer. If he gets you two goals, and costs you a half goal per, don't turn the guy into Chris Kelly.
  5. I'm happy to see someone out there have the courage to criticize Movie Max*. Marinaro tore a strip off of him. The attitude is almost like you aren't allowed to go there. (I get that he has a good deal. I also get that there are 60 odd millions left and fans are overly worried about cap constraints). I don't know why it's personal. The style of hockey in the playoffs or best on best in general doesn't suit his game. He got his bell rung by Girardi twice in the same shift and that was it. Goodnight, Vienna. He might as well shoot from the third row he was so far on the perimeter. We'll see what happens, but he was drafted ten years ago, and he probably is what he is at this point. *Plekanec has always sucked in the playoffs, too, but he's useless now anyways.
  6. To be fair, that game might be the first time he played on a fourth line his entire life.
  7. Danault doesn't create anything or distribute the puck.
  8. He looked the best on offense in a game where nobody came close to scoring. Way to go, Max!
  9. Movie Max wore his big game pants. He got the crap knocked out of him in the first period and slunk back into his reptilian shell for the last two. He's a loser, and this is a team full of them.
  10. Danault is a loser!!! What aggravates me about this game is that the Rangers have had about five minutes of solid hockey. The Habs can't win 0-0 with credit for being first on the puck. They have to make something happen.
  11. Time to flip King and Galchenyuk. Should be Danault for Galchenyuk, but that ship has sailed. This hockey thing is won by the team that scores the most goals. Same problem every year.
  12. I've been thinking about players like Galchenyuk that always seem to get a bad rap for defensive play. Every coach wants them to be something they are not. But has a coach ever told a player like Bryan Flynn "I need you to score 20 goals this year or else?"
  13. Still 1-0. Rags more than happy to sit back in a 1-4 and counterattack.
  14. They need to get more shots from somewhere closer than the blue line.
  15. Nice to see Price get some work in that last flurry. When Glass scored, the Rags only had 3 shots.
  16. The vibe I've gotten elsewhere. Puck Daddy had them in five, even though the guy who wrote the article is from Long Island and can't be confused for a Habs homer. Marinaro thought they could win the series in the first period by targeting Kreider. (Though he did his job-I tuned in to the program today). Lots of emphasis on Lundqvist and Price's records versus the opposing teams. I would say overall, the prognosticators picked the Habs 9/10.
  17. Not a great period. Though, if it's 0-0, my post is about how the Habs dominated the first and just need to wait for their chances. They never seemed to get close to Lundqvist. The Rangers boxed them out nicely, with the exception of netfront stalwarts Ott and Gallagher. The Girardi-Pacioretty hit set the tone for the second half of the period. Max got smoked, got up, and got smoked with a reverse hit. He looked hurt and his subsequent shifts stunk. The powerplay really stunk. In the second, I'd like to see them keep up on the physical play. They stopped after the Glass goal, and the crowd left the game after the Pacioretty hit. The first period should remove the illusion that many Habs fans and analysts had-that this was an easy series.
  18. Ok, almost one period in, and I now understand why people like Steve Ott! In other notes...this is the one frigging night my dog has decided to play with the squeeky ball for like an hour!
