Damn. I didn't realize the boys would be wearing the dreaded Blue Sweaters of Failure again! 😬
Geez...they've worn them once and lost. I kinda like the new jerseys!

We'll have to agree to disagree...

The teams in front of Price have not been very good until this year, but he has never been Hasek dominant- but than who has??
I would argue that the 2013-14 and 2014-15 Carey Price was Hasek level dominant. .927 and .934 save percentages on average teams.

I don't think a player can get his number retired in Montreal without having at least 2 cup rings, so I sure hope that you are right.Agreed. I think you need to have at least ONE cup to have your number retired. Asking for two cups might be a little exagerated seeing as the Habs don't play in a 6 team league anymore and don't win the Cup every second year like they used to in the 50's, 60's and 70's. If Carey can help this team win ONE cup, then there's no doubt in my mind his number will be retired, but without a cup, not sure it's gonna happen!

True that Andersen had to make more saves then Price, but Andersen's saves we easier to make compared to the saves Price had to make. The Leafs took a helluva lot more QUALITY shots compared the the Habs. MOst of the Habs shots came from the outside or wrist shots from 50 feet out. Their coach even said it after the game; last nights game was the game where they gave up the least amount of good chances all year...and that includes the games the Leafs played against the Canucks and the Hens.
As far as Price giving up bad goals, I don't think any of the goals he gave up were as bad the goal given up by Andersen on the first goal. The shots that went by Price were top corner shots. They were precise. Not to mention that Holl's shot was a blast from just outside the faceoff circle (by the time he took the shot, he wasn't at the blue line anymore!!) Price couldn't do anything about the 3rd goal. No goalie could do anything about a goal like that!
Having said all of this, even though I do have a tendancy of defending Price (mostly cause I also used to play in nets in my beer league) I have to admit that I haven't been impressed with Price over the past few seasons (with the exception of last falls playoffs) I'm worried that father time might be catching up to him!

Really disappointed by the effort level in the 2nd period and a good portion of the 3rd. Was expecting them to show a little more like they wanted it!

Whats going on here
We're being dominated by a better team. 2 goals in 30 seconds. The way the Habs are playing tonight, its pretty much game over!
-
Leafs will start the 3d on the PP1
-
I'm really not impressed with the way the Habs are playing tonight. They seem slow. Another lousy wrist shot without any traffic in front of Andersen and he makes an easy glove save.
-
THat's three times now that we can't get it out of the zone.
THe boys are playing like shit and the LEafs score! Was bound to happen! -
Habs PP coming up...Hope it'll be more convincing than the first PP!
-
Is it just me or do we seem slow out there? THe LEafs seem to be skating around us!
-
Toronto's PP is impressive!
The boys look like they can'T handle the LEafs!

Luongo 2.52 0.919, 489w
Price 2.50 0.917, 352w
Roy 2.54 0.910, 551w
I'd just like to point out that Roy played a good portion of his career in the 80's and early 90's when teams were scoring
350-400 goals a year!

I can't believe we're having this discussion. Remember the last time we traded our Star Goalie...the team took a decade to get over that loss. Now don't get be wrong, I'm not saying that Price=Roy, but before we go and trade/let go of our starting goalie, let's find out what the future holds. Will Primeau become the star goalie that we think he'll become? WE all know that Allen CAN'T be the starter. He was a starter for a while and that did not go well. Allen is a great back-up goalie.
Lastly, we all know that Price has a tendency of having slow starts...let's give him 20 games to see if he can get his shit together!

You have to like the Habs goaltending depth.
I love the acquisition of Allen. When Price is struggling, you can play the backup without any worries!

I missed most of the Game, but I have to say i'm a little disappointed by the score. I was hoping the Habs would crush the Hens today...
-
C'mon boys...get that third goal and bury the Hens!

If there was a skate or practice tomorrow, CJ should change the time to 6am
Agreed!

Too little, too late! They basically showed up for the first 19 minutes of the game and then they mailed it in! Not impressed by this performance against the worst team in the league!

I’m hoping we have some flash offence and suddenly 6-3
I hope Anderson comes back in the 3rd and scores a couple of quick goals to wake up the rest of the team!

Habs don’t seem to come back too well so far this season... generally they coasted into the game and Ottawa came to play...
if we can’t beat Ottawa up then we are going to fall back to earth soon enough.
I think it's clear that the boys have been reading the news clippings a little too much lately. They are taking the Hens lightly and are paying the price!
