Welcome welcome fellow dutchman! Great 2 have more of us Dutchies here!! (btw the Holland - Habs connection, dunno what it is, but a lot of my friends like other clubs. but what do they know about hockey (they ain't big hockey fans like me)

I just bought my tickets. They will be in Amsterdam on the 12th of January. Man this is going 2 be great. It's been almost 10 years since the last time they have been here!

I also have a router, and i was trying to get it fixed, so i also could host. It is possible. But now my computer broke (nothing 2 do with me trying to host, haha). So when im back, i'll try to get it done, and i let you know!!

Amd 2000+, and just bought me some extra intern memory, that makes 768DDR. And just normal cable, thats no problem, even for hosting i've been told (i haven't hosted yet)

I'm now playing against friends online, realy great. We could do a Habsworld competition (although i need some more practice )

I play medium, won some games, but the last few i all lost. I just can't get the puck in the net. All the nhl games i had i figured out a great way to score. But not yet in 2005. I tried to shoot a lot, combine a lot (got hammered a lot, a lot of players out of the line-up now), a lot of one timers. Not much result. I find it also hard 2 get close to the net. How do you guys play?

I jist started, got the game yesterday. Play with these lines: Zednik - Koivu - Kovalev Heinze - Ribeiro - Ryder Dagenais - Perreault - Bonk Plekanec - Dowd - Ward I only got Heinze of free agents. Played now a couple of matches and got my first win. But i still find it hard 2 play, al the options. But i'm getting more and more used to it! [Edited on 2004/10/6 by Dutch_Habs_Fan]

Probably i will get the game tomorrow. I believe it's not in stores in europe allready, but i found a way 2 get it. More guys from europe who already play it?

SO the whole Dutch league is going 2 change. To make it more exciting and for clubs to make more money. Next year it will be: The number one on the standings will be the champion, and will play in the Champions league. Number 2 till 5 will play in playoffs against eachother and there will be 3 teams play in europe. The 1 that lost will play in Playoffs against no. 6-9. 1 europe spot will be available. (i hope it's right what i said) They just told it on the news, it's quite confusing, but i think it will be exciting!! (playoff games are fun!!)

Why will a NHL star play in the Second division, and not on the toplevel. I thought the reason for them 2 play in europe was 2 keep in shape, so why a step lower then most nhl players.

Last year the Dutch Team FCUtrecht had the same thing. Play for a empty stadion. So the made big screens and painted people on them. And hang them in the stadion. SO it looked like there were people inside the stadion. Hilarious!!

Our league is quit poor. Last year they combined with Belgium for a competition and had an only dutch competition.The combination with Belgium was not that great, to much difference between the dutch clubs and the belgium clubs, in advantage for holland. Now they are trying 2 get more teams on the highest dutch level.(our own league has about 6 teams) But the dutch hockey organisation is putting up a whole new organisation, and investing a lot in youth nowadays, so thats good news!!! We got plenty of rinks, cuz (speed)skating is very popular here Lately there has been a tournament and holland were quite good. With a couple of small loses. Our national team exist mostly out of dutchies, and canadiens with dutch parents. (canadiens with their roots in holland). We lost 3-2 from Italy, 5-4 slovenia and 7-5 Poland. We have to play Poland for the olympic selection. So thats going 2 be hard. Thnx for the update, it's nice to read these things. Keep up the good work!! I could do this for Germany, but not many nhl players moved to Germany: Critobal Huet/Steve Passmore and Andy Macdonald. Jochen Hecht and Marco Sturm also moved, and about Dany Heatley it's still not sure (he's got a german id.) In holland there are no NHL -players, allthough Amsterdam promised, if there would be a Lockout, they would sign 2 nhl-players!! [Edited on 2004/9/22 by Dutch_Habs_Fan]

Thats true, but it's also a great opportunity for us european fans 2 see them in the rink (more often than just on a holiday in north america). Absolutely mixed feelings, because we like the NHL and it should go on. Greatest league on earth!!! But now we got the chance 2 see our heroes more often.

Yeah saw the thing on tv yesterday, missed it the day before. Frisk is a sissy . Nah it's not allright, Although i don't like frisk since he messed up the game @ the last European cup between Holland and Portugal. He made some terrible mistakes. But it was a sad thing for soccer what happened with him!! I saw dinamo win 2-0, Congratz with that! Yesterday in the game between Paok Saloniki -AZ the fans set a fire in the stadium. Quit big 2, totaly nuts those greek fans!!
