What concerns me about Subban or worry I should say is he holds out and finally signs after 10 games or so and get's hurt upon his return to the team because he isn't in game shape.

Thank you for information on both players being UFA, agree no trade for those players unless extension is done prior to trade. Does NHL allow contract and trade like NBA?

Wow! Good question, Getzlaf or Perry for Subban and a Pick? Glad I am not making that decision other then saying maybe. If you think your best prospects are Tinordi and Beaulieu and they are close to making the NHL and you think eithr Getzlaf or Perry gives you the scoring help for years to come, it at least makes a GM think.

I agree to trade Subban is not in the best interest of the team short term or long term. I have stated Bergevin has to stay with his structure except maybe in this case the structure can be a wee bit flexible. I doubt if a long term contract would cause any problems with the other players on the team. But, I don/t know for sure.

If a player is over paid does it mean all other players must be or will have to be overpaid? Kaberle was not Bergevin's mistake, he has a structure and if he wants credibility with the players and management will will stick to his structure. That does not mean he is stuck to a certain amount but it has to fit in his team structure. I think we need to think long term for the team success.

I do not expect Bergevin to give on this contract. If he does then he will put himself in a position of weakness with other agents.

I think we can close the Gomez issue since the issue is resolved between the NHL and the Players Association.

Too much being made of a young college player having fun and experiencing the college life. I would not worry about his attitude and work ethic based on college experience. He may be a hockey player but he is also a college student.

You will see a trade of Subban before Beregevin gives him a long term deal. I fully expect a 2 maybe 3 year transition contract for Subban. If Subban sits at home his value does not increase.

I believe Bergevin needs to stick to his team structure. Two to three years max and then go for a long term contract, after all he is still a young player and has more to prove. I am not for any long term contract for more than 5 years.

Leblanc just called up with 4 other players for an intra squad game on Thursday. Who knows he may show the coaches in Montreal he deserves to stay. Not likely but not impossible.

Since assigning a player to the AHL no longer gets his salary off the cap I agree the safest move is to do what Montreal GM did, send the player home and bite the bullet with salary. I imagine injuries would have to be hockey related so if he goes home and breaks a leg while washing his windows it will not stop the buyout. Tough decision but that is what the GM is paid to do.

Not sure if washed up is accurate but he definitely does not fit in Montreal.

It would seem to me the Del Zotto signing, if Subban and he are comparable, should take some air out of Subban's self worth. Or does it?

Just read an article on another site where the author said Leblanc is being destroyed by the Hamilton staff. Has anyone else seen the article and why would this be happening to him? If true that is not the style of player development we should expect from the Montreal Canadiens organization.

Did the injury to Leblanc influence the canadiens decision not to bring him to camp? Does Leblanc have a place in Montreal's future or is he another player to be used in a trade? He has not really done well this year in Hamilton and maybe the full year down there will be beneficial to him. I like the young player.

Does anyone other than myself think that PK may be traded? He does have good value, how much I do not know but value for sure. Just asking.
