I wouldn't go that far, but in the past, high numbers were reserved for special players. Gretzky, Lemieux, Coffey, Bourque. Since all these guys are wearing them, it takes away the magic they once possessed. It looks like Crosby is special player and he should wear 87, but so does Donald Brashear.

With so many good jersey numbers available, I'm hoping management makes some players use traditional hockey numbers like 3-5-6-12-13-14-15-17-18-19-21-22-23-24-25-28-29-30-31. A team with so much tradition should not be using football numbers. Will Montreal retire the numbers 18-19-23-33. :hlogo:

I wonder if OLN will show the games in Canada, or TSN or CRTC will black them out. It would be 10 out of 10 if OLN Canada shows the games.

The sens are looking for the same type of package St. Louis receivered for Pronger. Maybe Souray and Hainsey for Redden. It works at so many levels... salary releaf for both teams and a first round prospect for the sens.... to get quality for have to give something up

Who does Montreal have to play left wing, and what about injuries. I like some of these rookies but some of them had a difficult time in Hamilton. Lots of question marks with these guys. I rather have these guys playing everyday than watching from the press box. When an injury happens, these guys are ready to play and are given the opportunity to prove themselves. Damphousse is a solid dept guy. If not Vinnie, they still need someone like him.

I would leave a forward spot open for someone in the waiver draft. BG tends to find a least one player who can contribute... in 03-04 he plucked Steve Begin.

I would love to have Damphousse back. He can play centre or left wing and can play both defense and offense. This is a great player to have in case of injury, plus he's a solid leader and hard worker. Look how he helped the young guys in San Jose and almost took them to the finals.
