  1. I cant believe my eyes, Aussie posse. I detected for sarcasm.. didnt find any.. Did you just say that our young guns dont deserve to be here if they are not scoring at the same pace as crosby? First of all he gets more ice time than the three of them put together. Secondly two of our guys ( higgins especially) are solid TWO-Way players used extensively on the PK. And Thirdly if all our rookies had to be that good to "deserve" to be here then we might as well close the farm and trade away all our draft picks for veterans and geritol like the leafs. Your lack of understanding how the game works cheapens us all.

  4. I think with the unbelievably strong team we will be icing this year we can afford to be alittle more risky with our goalie situation..that and the fact that this will be brodeurs last major world event would lead me to believe that he is still the # 1 guy but that the other two are both going to see exhibition games and whoever of them plays better will get a chance to show their stuff with points on the line to solidify them as the next Goalie of team canada future. Also Theo is the only one of the three who has proven that he elevates his play for big games..his playoff record is stellar and he won gold at the wjc's...I think they have to put him on the team just for the fact that although luongo, turco and (gerber) are all playing well..he has the experience factor that says "consistency"..with all the injuries so far this year..team Canada will place a great importance on this. Just a thought
  5. Yup.. and the latest good news is that Havlat will probably not suit up against us as hes still injured and is a definite scratch for this weekend! :ghg:
  6. He'll be the one in the pressbox covering his face with his hands and confetting the ice with his now useless and shredded mise-o-jeu tickets. All jokes aside the Gazette is reporting this morning that Danis will get the start with Theo playing the leafs and sens... I won't be watching the game till the third cause of work.. but I have sent out several prayers to all the religious denominations I could think of for a strong first period and a dumb penalty-free game... I can't promise any thing but the smart money says that Ganesh has our back on this one..(like all deities..hes a habs fan).
  7. Thats is not only a valid point... Its something I would expect. Given Zhogs already high level of play I cant help but feel that with more conditioning..better confidence and better chemistry with the team he is going to be a very very scary sophomore. Latendresse should be a great rookie to watch.. but I would expect higgins to a have a great second year on the second line and latendresse would be better utilized adding some much needed scoring punch to our third/checking line.
  8. Yeah.. Shortcat...yah Reading that makes me sad.. I had really hoped for more progress from locke and kostitsyn.. At least it seems that all may not yet be lost for Hainsey and that benoit may have been a steal as a walk on. Time will tell...it is interesting to note that they are the youngest team in the Ahl...That maybe puts the struggles into perspective a bit more
  9. Great thread..yes Inter-divisional play is especially important for us because it seems that with buffalo or Boston as the weakest teams this may be the first time ever that there is a possibility of the entire division making the playoffs. This is going to be an incredibly tough year.. but whoever comes out of this division is sure to be a contender. That being said I HATE THE LEAFS And that being said if we could beat ottawa it would surely sound a wake-up call to the rest of the league. I have too many friends from there and I really need this to happen. Granted injuries take their toll and Kovalev is a major one but if the team is able to pull together and if Julien stops his ridiculous benching of the young guns then when we emerge healthy we will only be that much better as a team. Tough 4 games? no doubt..But Theo can steal us any one that he wants too. I love having an elite tender.
  10. I know that if you are hoping to get five in a row for a game against the leafs you can expect to pay at least 100$ a ticket for the high whites.. and thats off the internet..otherwise you will be looking at 150$-200$ per from a scalper if they have any. Sorry
  11. I know..its why we traded him..he dries up like brian savage. Its also why GAineys a GM and I post my ideas on the web
  12. Its too bad we dont have a biggish skilled guy who loves to work the boards and dig the corners for the second line. Do you think the Rangers are interested in trading Marcel Hossa
  13. Dagenais is freakin clown shoes.. There is only one other person on the ice as one-dimensional and slow around the rink as him.. and that guy is driving a Zamboni. p.s. I didn't forget about youppi.. but youppi has a dayjob at least.
  14. I agree Bonk needs the confidence but he is far too valuable as a third line center.. if you look at our offence and our defence.. it is not our offence that has us with one of the best records in the league right now. And the single biggest reason for our stellar d is that third line. That being said.. give him the right wing on the first pp line... the work stting up Ryders goal against the Thrashers was all Bonk
  15. The fact that Kleslas #'s are not that great and that at 6'3 he is not that huge is a product of his young age and the dreadfully horrible team he plays for.. there he is a top pairing guy. Here he would be 4-5. Not to mention great shot and tons of time to improve.. Remember everyone writing off Chris Pronger those first few years in Hartford.. They were sure pissed they didn't have the patience to wait. I don't know if Doug is desperate enough to make the deal.. but if he is then Klesla would be so worth it
  16. I know that this will displease some people but.. Ribs time has come... I think its pretty evident that A) This is about as good as he'll ever be and B) We have tons of up and coming talent that could be that good or better..also costing less and not carrying a giant sack of ego around. So.. there are a few options... personally I know that Pittsburgh is desperate to upgrade a second line center and they.. like many habs fans.. might still believe that Ribs best is still ahead of him and ignore the fact that he gets pushed off the puck 9/10 times. If so we could really use a young defenseman like Whitney. I also see amrket for his talent and smallish paycheck in colombus which is desperate as well.. and they have a guy over there (klesla) who I would love to see in the bleu-blanc-rouge. Like I said..just putting it out there.
  17. Sykora is one of the slowest players in the nhl... Just a reminder..good stats but struggling this year translates roughly to: Was a big guy who could shake off the interference and stand in front of the net but has little to offer in terms of skill or speed. He should play for the goof troopin leafs
  18. When we win the next two games we are #1 in the league a quarter of the way through the season... I figure that might even be enough for us to crack the top 16 in tsn's power poll... GO HABS GO
  19. Just a cotton-pickin minute here... are we all forgetting about someone... The toughest man in the Nhl is by far: SAKU KOIVU!!! I mean talk about tough.. he plays throug everything...He comes back from cancer in the same year and hasn't missed signifigant playing time since..remember the last playoffs when everyone was saying that thornton would have been so much better if he didnt have that cracked rib.. only to find out that koivu had the same thing while leading the league in points and being half Joes size in the 'old NHL'. Man that is TOUGH.. I dont care who you can fight.. I'd like to see Chara try and take some of the pain that koivu has and keep coming on strong. That mental and physical toughness is what makes him a true leader for the HABS. CH for life..out
  20. Ha.. Tremblay was way worse.. what with his jonny unitas haircut and 10$ suits.. he looked and acted like he was moonlighting fromhis day job selling used rv's.. As for Therrien among other things he can include on his resumee he was a bodyguard for Roch Voisine.... I mean what the hell were these guys doing behind the bench of the greatest sports franchise the world has ever seen.....dammit man. An entire decade almost, lost to the incompetence of a few back patting, secret handshaking idiots who were only endorsed by the morons on the 'journal' and rds payrolls.
  21. Im not sure if his value is that high but we sure could use some nice racing stripes for the zamboni..without them it looks like it moves across the ice as slowly as dagenais himself. go habs go
  22. I dont remember either...late 80's somehow... It might have been mike McPhee's moustache.
  23. yup its good to be a :hlogo: fan zhogs is the new lovage this year that guy has it all..prediction: 65-75 points for him in rookie year
  24. if a guy like domi doesnt cheapshot someone in the face on the first shift thhen he has already waited. that and ridiculous don cherry soundbites (clown shoe ***holes) are that type of player is good for.
