I pretty much agree with your assessment gohabs. He's not been impressive at all and at 27 it's pretty hard to teach old dogs a new trick. He's not really old but by 27 he is probably set in his ways and has shown all the potential he ever will. The one safety plug that Julien has had going for him is that he has been using Dandeneault as a forward, who can come back to play defence in Streit's place in a lot of situations. Don't know how long he can keep doing this with the injured returning to the line up to take their places on the forward lines. I don't think I want to see Komi sit out in favour of Streit. A good stint down in Hamilton will help Streit work on his game. I was surprised they didn't do this at seasons start, risking losing Hainsey when Streit could of been sent down with no risk of losing him in the waiver. He needs to learn the game at a slower pace. Just throwing him into the fire in the NHL may be too much for him. Certainly looks that way.

Dags probably won't go anywhere. He'll just be sitting in the press box until an injury happens. He's earned a spot as an injury backup.

Let's hope the refs keep calling those penalties to allow the Habs to skate freely with no obstruction. I've seen a few signs of them wanting to revert to the old clutch and grab mentallity.

If the its scoreless, 1-1 or 2-1 for most of the game then the WHOLE game is tight defensive situation. Do you sit Streit the whole game and play 5 D? They're gonna be awful tired. And as it happens every game the Habs have played so far have been these type games. One mistake could mean the difference between a win and a loss. I'm willing to give him more time but from what I've seen so far, he doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in me. But as we know patience is a virtue.

I don't know if it's going that well really. You can't put Streit out in tight defensive situations, he's too much of a defensive liability. So what do you do, only play him on the powerplay? I don't think they can afford to have a defenceman take a spot in the line-up just to play on the powerplay and not 5 on 5. He's not cutting it as a complete defenceman yet. Hopefully the coaching staff can teach him to be better in the defensive aspect of the game.

How do you think he is doing so far? I thought that he was pretty ineffective against Philly tonight. He got loads of power play time but couldn't seem to do much with it. He is generally a liability 5 on 5 with his defensive play. I'm starting to think that maybe Hainsey should get another look. Perhaps he hasn't adapted yet. I know this is a diffeent game than he's used to and he hasn't had a lot of time to learn it yet so perhaps I'm being a little impatient. I see some good things in him like his skating but his game is far from being impressive so far. Give him some more games but he has to be better or I say they should cut the experiment short and bench him in favour of Hainsey.

Hossa is going to disappear in about 20 games. Trust me. He did the same in Montreal. I remember he was called up and had like 5 goals in 10 games and then didn't score again in the next 10. There was no room on the roster for Hossa just like there is no room for Dagenais. Only mistake Gainey made was not shipping Dags along with him to NY.

That was a bad trade for the Habs. Not a colossal mistake but Tampa definitely got the better of it. Glad those days are behind us.

I'm not Theo basher because I truly believe he is a top 10 goalie in the league but there are a few reasons why I lose patience with him. He is inconsistent at times. He will make great saves and then let in a soft goal that will make you scratch your head. Don't know if this is a lack of concentration or what it is but it is frustrating to watch. Another thing with Theo is that he often looks really bad when he gives up a goal. This comes from his habit of going down way too early. He spends more time on his knees than a Catholic altar boy (bad joke, I know). Why is he down on his knees like that so much??? I get really nervous when there is pressure in the zone and Theo is down on his knees already even before a shot. I'm sure opposing teams are told to shoot high on him because that's where most of his goals are given up. All that being said, there are not many goalies I would trade for Theo. I would have done a Luongo deal but not if we had to give up Ryder in the package, Anyway, I think Theo will start plaing better. Right now it's not hurting the team. When Theo is on his game, he is an amazing goalie. He just needs play like that for longer stretchs.

NO WAY, not in a million years will Zednik end up on the third line. Even if Julien puts him there for a shift I'm sure Zednik will be back on one of the 2 top lines before the game is over. Question is which one. Breaking up the first line doesn't seem like a good move right now. Perezhogin and Koivu have amazing chemistry together and Kovalev is Perezhogin's mentor. I think Zednik would be a good fit on the 2nd line adding some grit (yes he does have some grit), maturity and speed to the second line. He is good at getting pucks along the boards and that's needed on that line. If there is some sort of personality clash with Ribeiro, Zed should be enough of a vet to overcome it. I don't know....Julien may just give him the first line based on seniority and not making waves with the teams top scorer. Should be very interesting but a 3rd line assignment is not in Zednik's future (not in the long run anyway- maybe for some conditioning where he won't play so many minutes but that's it. I don't think even this will happen). We could see some juggling of Perezhogin and Zednik between the top 2 lines to see who fits where best but it's hard to believe that the first line could be better than it is now with the players available including Zednik.

No actually he was terrible. Is that all you're expecting from Theo?? The first goal he looked like a pee wee the way Satan just walked around him. Made Theo look like a fool. The last goal was ridiculus, First of all Theodore was down on the ice a good 5 seconds before the shot (God I hate it when he does that) and then the shot went through his legs so slowly that it was shocking, like he purposely let it in. If he keeps playing like that I hope Julien sits him out. Luckily we have some guys that can score some goals to bail his ass out. 3 goals on 22 shots is not a good save %.
