Since the critics have been saying for a couple of years now that DD belongs on the third line....most of them are saying I told you so. How about NBs critics?.....what are they "whining" about now?

Exactly. Take the jets as an example. That line of Little, Laad, Wheeler is tough to play against, add Buff to that and they shut down Pleks, Max, Gally completely. But the supporting cast got the job done. Love seeing this, been so long since we have been this deep in scoring ability.

We all knew he could because he already did last season when he was third line. As Mike Johnson just said..."playing third line you get third line match ups, third line d pairs" 14 points in last two games for that line!

The new kid has good hands as well as speed !! Our new stud on the pk?? !! His scoring always dries up, then he goes on a tear. Then it dries up and he goes on a tear. Although he has looked particularly "off" the last four or five games. He may be asking for DD back soon.

Jets a big physical team that does not lack scoring. . Habs will have to play their best game since the St Louis win to get the two points. Condor due for a loss?

I laughed when MB signed him. He gets one every year. Brierre (retired) Paps (leafs fourth line) Now Semin. But now that he is signed 10 games is too early. He has one goal. Tied with half the league. Chucky has two. I doubt Semin is gonna amount to much, but a tad early to give up on him.

Forgot about Kassian too. Do you think he ever plays a game for the Habs?

Can see your point. There are those that think the guy with the bigger body and can park himself in front of the goalie, 15 even strength goals and 7 games winners last season. Some think he should get it. Neither is wrong, they are just opinions. If the powerplay was not struggling for two seasons, horrible against the lightning in the play offs , well we would not even be discussing it. Everyone has an opinion on how to make the powerplay better. Not a bit surprised using Larry more is one of them. Jets tonight. Tough team.

To me it was never about who is a better p[layer. As i stated at the beginning of the season "better smetter". They are two different type of players. What was in question was how Eller would preform if he was given the chances DD has been. First line center, powerplay time, playing in the middle of Pax and Gallagher etc. Now that he has been given some of that on the second line, his critics may just be right. He may not up for the job. DD, I like him on third line for all the right reasons.

Agree with that, and have stated just that. This aint exactly a new subject. ha! Will add both are third line players. Tongue in cheek, it took MT three years to admit DD is not a top six center. Took him about an hour on Lars.

Dont care about Ellers stat line....or DDs. We could debate this all day. Neither one are what you want on your top six. Both have been part of garbage powerplays. One can kill penalties. One has had a great play off...once. Third line players who both have been given a chance to be more.....and the truth is...neither one is. Not like we are debating Guy Lafluer and Pierre Larouche here.

DD longer leash going into the two Alberta games . Yes However DD has has always had the longer leash under MT. The basis for these debates I believe. No big deal. DD is finally a third line center. Which is where he belongs and excels. Eller playing wing, center looking like a third liner too. To win a cup ideally I dont want either of them on my top six. So MB is getting there. For two years DD was the center on the powerplay and it sucked. That count for anything. Not saying Eller is the answer to the powerplay. As i posted on this morning with last years scoring stats. Eller has done fine with what the coach gives him. Dont expect him to do much more. Higher expectations in the play offs from our supposed best players .....now thats a different story.

Eller played poorly then got schooled by Sam Bennet on a flames goal. So he was benched. DD played poorly, then got schooled by Ryan Nugent Hopkins on Oilers WINNING goal. So he was.......put on the next power play. I believe that is all Habs29 was eluding to. Coaches pet and coaches whipping boy. Nobody is screaming scandal or even incompetent coaching. Just some off the cuff observations, with apologies to the DD and Therrien fan club. A Sensitive bunch.

Some (not all) Therrien lovers feel they have to agree and back every single thing the coach does.

Oh yes, without a doubt Eller is the whipping boy. Nobody can dispute that.

Team leaders in even strength goals last season. Max 27 Gally 21 Chuck 17 Pleks 16 Eller 14 DD 12 Game winners Max 10 (most in NHL) Eller 7 Gally 6 Pleks 5 DD 4 Larry does alright with what the coach gives him.

Be nice to see Chucky get it going. Looks much better this season than he did down the stretch last season. But still, only 2 goals. Going back to last season including play offs he has like 4 goals in his last 40 games. With several different sets of line mates and pp time.
