The Sports Network has acquired broadcast rights for regular season games for each of the next three years starting in 2004-05. All game broadcasts will be produced by the Leafs, while TSN will produce the studio intermission shows and their pre-game and post-game shows. "We're extremely pleased to be renewing our relationship with TSN," said Tom Anselmi, Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. "We know Leafs fans will be thrilled with this agreement because they will continue seeing great Leafs hockey broadcasts for the next three seasons." "Today's announcement reconfirms TSN's overwhelming commitment to hockey," said Rick Brace, President, CTV Inc. "The new regional deal along with our national broadcast package, our pre- and post-game and complementary hockey programming such as the NHL Draft, underscores the fact that hockey lives here at TSN." TSN's Molson Canadian Leaf Hockey telecasts are broadcast regionally to the whole Ontario market with the exception of the Ottawa Valley, as required by the National Hockey League's (NHL) team broadcast territory rules. In addition to its regional broadcast package, TSN is currently in the second year of a five-year NHL national broadcast deal. This season, TSN televised 73 regular season games and coverage of the first three rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. TSN is Canada's Sports Leader. Setting the Canadian sports broadcasting standard, TSN's flagship news program, SportsCentre, was voted the number-one source for sports news by sports fans from across the country. TSN's comprehensive broadcast schedule also includes the NHL, Toronto Maple Leafs and international hockey, the Olympic Games, CFL, NFL, PGA TOUR and all four golf Majors, Season of Champions curling, Formula One, NASCAR, Champ Car and IRL auto racing, Blue Jays baseball, NBA, figure skating and amateur sports action. He used to do most excellent commentary on the Habs for CJAD (far superior to Murray Wilson, IMHO, who does an ok job, but tends to repeat the same stock phrases over and over again. Leafs Suck Posted May 19, 2004 Share Posted May 19, 2004 Murray Wilson is a good colour man. McGuire speaks just to hear himself talk. He highlights pointless things and rips players for stupid reasons. He's made too many anti-habs comments over the last few years that makes me believe he hates les Canadiens.
