    Risk

Haha, I'd forgotten about this episode of Seinfeld: "Risk is played in the Seinfeld episode "The Label Maker" by Kramer and Newman. The two play an extended Risk game throughout the episode. Towards the end of the episode, Kramer is on the verge of victory as they play on the subway. However, after Kramer mocks Newman's remaining armies in the Ukraine, a nearby Ukrainian man becomes enraged and smashes their Risk board."

    Risk

A bit of a buggy site, but a solid game. Will be on tomorrow to take on all challengers. Though, please learn the how the game works on the site before we play, I'm all explained out.

I guess not, they must have just had a problem.
  4. HAHAHAHA @TBRC!!! He's in Vegas gambling away his signing bonus.

Yeah, maybe they shut down at night or something.

Hehe, we started 3-4 games trying to get everyone's attention, I guess you missed it. I think the maximum in a room is 6, so you might be able to view our new game.

I'll be back at 11, but it looks like there are quite a few of you to get a game together before then, so go ahead without me.

    Risk

http://www.finalconquest.com I tried half a dozen online Risk games tonight, and this is by far the best. Easiest to setup, easiest to play, etc. There is a 2:00 to 2:50 time limit on turns, which is excellent compared to everything else we tried. The only difference between the game and real Risk is that in the initial army placement, you can have no more than 4 armies on a country. Other than that, it is an excellent replica of the real thing and by far the best I found for free.

    Risk

This thread is bad, the site is really bad. There is a 1 minute limit on turns and if you don't hit "Finished" at the end, it kicks you out of the game. I'm posted a new thread in a few minutes with a better site.

    Risk

Yeah, so looking for new sites. That one is probably awesome if you pay, but sucks for us cheap folk.

    Risk

If you haven't noticed, games waiting for players are at the top of the list.

I'll set the game up right at 7, trying to limit outsiders from joining

    Risk

Yeah, so a little over 2 hours from now. Btw, there are three different chat types, one is game chat, so we'll be able to communicate during the game. Any opinions on whether we should allow private conversations (called "whispering" in the game)? I like them, most don't.

7:00 PM sound good to you guys?
  15. The gay had nothing to do with my feelings about the character, it was just a funny nickname for the character since it sounds nerly identical to the real name. A simple joke. For sure not a crappy character, but I was never able to master using him. Flipping bacon with him was fun, and Scuba Steve was a solid move for him. Yeah, that was awesome on the N64 version. It was a shame they pretty much negated that on the GameCube version. You could still eat people and crap them out as eggs, but they could control themselves inside of it enough so they usually didn't fall off. Yeah, Zelda herself is a terrible character, Sheik is solid though. Not very strong, but so fast.

    Risk

Ok, I found a solid, free version of Risk to play online. The maps are not perfect due to copyright laws, but it's good enough. The site is http://www.dominategame.com Download the free version, no sense paying for the online version. After installing, it will ask for a user name, password, and identification info. I filled most of it in the "With-held." The one drawback is the time limit. Instead of measuring idleness, the game imposes a time limit on each turn. The limit can be made long, but then someone could leave and hold the game up for a long time. I think a 3-4 minute time limit would be fine. I'd be up for a game this evening. I can host, so the game will be listed under Fanpuck33
  17. That's anti-gay? I didn't even know it was Game&Watch until I saw it written in the manual.
  18. Link is always my second choice when I'm tired of being Donkey Kong. I also have experimented with Samus and Mr. Game&Watch (or Mr. Gay Man Watch). I'm looking right now at a free downloadable version of Risk that can be played online. If it's any good, I'll be posting a Risk thread to try and setup a game.
  19. Hehe, you people underestimate shortcat's sense of humor
  20. I love that game. I almost bought a GameCube just so I could play that game when friends come over. I played it all the time back in school with my two housemates who happen to be insanely good at the game, so I didn't do too much winning, but I can hold my own. When I have the Donkey Punch going well, I can be a force to be reckoned with. I also enjoy using The Clap on airborne opponents, hehe.
  21. Post all Habs related rumors from other sites (like Eklund) in this thread. Any new threads started based on rumor will be merged with this one.
  22. In Montreal, LeClaire was always a case of untapped potential. He never scored 20 goals in Montreal and only had 10 points (4 goals and 6 assists) in the playoffs in '93. He was instantly a different player in Philly, putting up 25 goals (his first 20 goal season) in just 37 games.
  23. If Mogilny, Fedorov, and Bure survived in a time when US and Russia were just coming to the end of the Cold War, I think Malkin will be fine.
  24. Any more expansion is out of the question. The talent of the league is already so watered down. All expansion would do would be to allow 230 crappy players earn a spot on NHL rosters. Just think, current 3rd line talent would become 2nd line talent, 4th talent would become 3rd line talent, and career AHLers would become 4th line talent. That is not good for the game. The only part of that article I liked was that Columbus and Montreal would be in the same division.
  25. Actually, Johnny Depp took the character of Jack Sparrow and made it his own in the first movie. He only loosely followed his script and added a lot on his own. After he developed the character in the first movie, the writers knew more what to write, so it left less room for Depp to be creative. Also, I saw it again a couple weeks ago, and it just cemented the fact that it was too long. The scene on the native island was funny, but had nothing to do with the plot and just held up the story for half an hour. Other than that, it was very entertaining, even the 2nd time.
