I find it humorous that all year long, if the game is going bad, it is all Ribs fault... He has been hit a bunch in this game and I have not seen him turn away once. He is plus one in the series and that is while snakebit.. yeah, he needs to play better, but really... Kovalev is our go to guy right now.. nothing. He was double shifted last game and didn't even get a shot... He is not trying that hard, perhaps he is hurt, but he has not done much tonight.. The line that is really sucking is the Ryder / Higgins line. They are awful. If they are that dependant on Koivu, what does that say about them? Seriously, if they don't get going, we are doomed. Finally, if Bonk can't step up and be an offensive center to relieve the pressure.. well, dump him. He is great defensively, but he needs to step up and soon.

It simple, they are not skating.. They are not going hard to the puck but floating around waiting for it to get to them.. when bulis looks slow.. ouch... he is one of our fastest guys and he is not using that speed tonight..

Sigh... they look terrible again.. this team is defeated already.. they just have no confidence..they are not hard on the puck, they are not working together.. Not sure how Gainey changes this attitude.. either some luck, or a guy like Begin who cranks it up... something better happen soon

I have a feeling Kovy will show up. He knows he is the man now and has to get it done. If they can get some quick pressure and some goals on Ward, they will be fine. They just have to break out of the funk... Now that said, the Canes played amazing hockey the last few games. Sure, the Refs let them get away with too much, but Ward has been incredible for them, and their team speed is back. A large part of our first two wins were easy goals on Gerber. I suspect the boys have just discovered that they have to work a lot harder with a hot goaltender in net. What they need right now is some confidence, and if they get some, they will do just fine. Think about this. The habs played terrible, the refs were awful, and the canes were on fire.. yet they barely won those two games. Especially the overtime game, it could have gone either way. If i was the canes, I would still be worried...

It has nothing to do with the media or anything else, and he has not been floating through the series. He was playing very well in the first 2.5 games. So he (like most of the team) had a bad game... lets hope that line bounces back...

I don't know why people think ribs has be to be better then Koivu, he isn't, but by the same token, he is not our first line center and shouldn't be better then Koivu. That does not make him a terrible center. It is possible to like and pull for both of them. To be fair, Koivu would be struggling right now without Ribs or Kovalev in the lineup. It is always tough when you lose one of your top two centers, because the other team can key in on the one line. I am dissappointed that Ribs didn't step up, but I feel the same way about several of the players including Higgens, Bonk, Kovalev, etc. I am counting on Gainey having a little chat with a number of them behind closed doors.

I don't know, but he has not looked very good the last couple of games. No speed, and he is not stick handling like he use to.. lack of mobility perhaps?

Perhaps Boo Boo should beat the crap out of williams... just to add the embarrassment factor... LOL

He got a goal called back for interfering with Huet.. he didn't get a penalty. He feels he was robbed. His winning goal was scored with his teammate in the crease, stick right between Huet's legs... Oh, and Markov took a high stick from guess who.. another no call...

Don Cherry is pointing out that the winning goal was also goal tender interference... This is really sucking. Why does Carolina get away with going right on top of Huet in the crease... but as Cherry says, they won't call back two.... (not sure why not, they keep saying they will call everything....)

I agree with that .. plus I think bonk is playing well, unfortunately, he is still mostly defensive. We need some offense from that line.

Are you watching the game... there was one pass from Kovy to ribs.. it was behind ribs on his trailing foot... come on... The fact is that line is totally ineffective tonight, and it is equally shared by Kovy, ribs, and Bullis. They have to pick up their game big time.

Oh, and it was Kovalev that let go of Brindamour beside the net to allow that last goal...

Its about time Kovy showed up.. he is the star of the team right now and he has done nothing the last two games... . Come on Kovy.. get that one back....
