  1. This is a disaster, everyone looks lost... It's not time for a trade yet, But Gainey should seriously call around and see what assets he can get for the following... Souray, Dagenais, Streit... Obviously Souray is the only one with any value, but if we would move him it would be nessesary, to get a big strong Dman in return, while he's been horrible, he's strong as anything and huge. I'd like Gainey to rip into them after the game, this is disgusting. Here are mine line combos for next game. Bonk-Koivu-Zednik Higgins-Ribeiro-Ryder Bulis-Begin-Sundstrom Dagenais-Plekanec-Perezhogin Bonk to play up on a top line, I want to see him there, thats where he played with the Sens and with Kovalev out, he's got the skills to play there... I know we got him as a 3rd line centre, But Begin can do the job... makes our top 3 lines that much better.
  2. Gotta love TSN, do they ever hate us or what? http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/feature/?fid=549&hubname= We're first in the east, 2nd only to the Red Wings overall. [Edited on 2005/11/2 by Habby1197]
  3. I think we do owe him a thank you... even though he didn't do it for us, I haven't seen us be able to be this exciting in years. While I agree he doesn't care about the Habs or Canada... when we sip from Lord Stanley in the next few years, a part of all of us will know that his lockout didn't hurt us. For the record I'm no Bettman fan, but I do appreciate the changes.
  4. We're off to a 7-2 start, while it's still very early in the season, it's also very impressive. I've been to all 5 games in Montreal and I can tell you first hand the new rules are way in our advantage. The Habs speed totally had Philly on their heals last night in the third period, there was nothing they could do about it, but take 5 penalties and allow us to tie the game. In the old NHL the Habs were a good team, but their chances of a championship were no where as high as they are now. While we were able to spend upwards of 50 million a year, other teams were able to shell out 80+ million, while money doesn't buy you a championship, most of the high payroll teams were among the leagues elite. Now everyone is on the same level playing field, money is no longer an issue. The teams with the best management will be at the top. If we do happen to win it all in the next few years, Habs fans should say a little thank you to Gary Bettman, as much as most of us dislike him, he's put our Habs in a much better position. Teams are now considering us a tough team to play, Montreal is no longer a game other teams look forward to, we earned Philly's respect last night, and by years end I hope we have all 29 other teams respect.

  6. http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/190788.html There you go... Nice to have our best goal scorer back.
  7. We're not doing that bad on faceoff's actually... Koivu is doing very well too. Faceoff Stats Only Ribeiro and Dagenais are having real trouble with them. [Edited on 10-21-05 by Fanpuck33]
  8. Doan is a lock to make it, just as certain as Iginla or Sakic.
  9. Thats hillarious... Leafs over the 5-0 Preds, TSN is a joke.
  10. Ok well I was there tonight, damn losing to the Leafs is tough I can't STAND them, or their fans. Well he's my recap on each player. Perezhogin- Looked very good, compliments the first line pretty well, but I do think he'll lose his spot on the top unit when Zednik comes back. Koivu- He was alright, played a good game, not his best though... He didn't seem to "have it" tonight. He wasn't able to take over the game like we've scene in other games this year. Kovalev- Is he ever a treat to watch, He played a first period of a Hart throphy winner, while he did tail off a bit, he's amazing. We haven't had anyone with this much skill in over a decade. Ryder- There isn't a player I'm more dissapointed in. He used to be the hardest working player on the team, doing everything possible to get in position to score a goal. Tonight we saw a HINT of what he was in his rookie year, but he's got a ways to go. He needs to see some serious video of what he's capable of when giving 100%... Very dissapointing. Ribiero- Ok, well he looks more the the player in 2002-2003 than the Ribeiro of 2003-2004. The effort just isn't there, he's got to untuck his jersey out of his pants and focus on playing hockey instead of looking good on the ice, because right now, he's doing neither. Dagenais- Well, hmmm... The new NHL simply isn't for him. He doesn't have the skating to play top 6 minutes so basically he belongs in the AHL. Bulis- He was alright, didn't have the game he had against Atlanta, but he was good enough. I would like to see Bonk and Bulis create more offense since line #2 is really off. Bonk- I liked his game tonight, quite strong two way game, and his offense is starting to creep into his game, and we can use it. Remember this guy has scored 70pts before... granted he was playing on the Sens top line, but he can produce. Sundstrom- I'm not his biggest fan, but he is very effective in his role, he must get tougher along the boards though, he was pretty much the cause of the Leafs third goal. Begin- He was good tonight, too bad he made a bad mistake and it cost us bad. Plekanec- I love this guy, he's fast, defensivly responsible, gritty, great skill, can score, great on the PK, he's more of a factor than Ribeiro right now. Higgins- Works hard, still a couple rookie mistakes with blind passes, but those will be corrected with time, do we ever have a top 9 forward with this guy for years to come. Souray- Oh Souray, what happened to the guy that exploded in October 2003 VS the Sens in a 5-2 loss... He's playing with a total lack of confidance, he looks confused and is trying to do too much with the puck. Right now, Rivet is a more reliable option. Markov- Our stud, sure he misfired at the end of the game on a bomb pass with 30 seconds left, but is he on track to be among the NHL elite D men? I think so. Rivet- Solid game, not many errors, he's actually been pretty good this year, I'm quite pleased. Sure he's overpayed but that should not matter, it's his agents job to get him as much money as possible... But the truth is he isn't as overpayed as some might think. Boullion- Very good game, did well against the bigger forwards he had trouble with in the last NHL season, playing within his limits and being effective. Dandenault- He played a good game, he's still getting used to being on a new team, but he's a good dman, nothing spectacular, but effective. Komisarek- I love what I saw from him tonight, he was physically dominating, he had some monster hits, hope this is a sign of things to come, because he could turn out to be very special. Theodore- Well he wasn't as bad as he was against the Sens, but he didn't look like an elite goalie either. Not sure of himself, and his rebound control was poor. He better get his act together, or the Habs won't be much more than an 8th place team. He could also kiss his team Canada chances goodbye if a major improvment isn't in order. Some good things, tons of stuff to work on... Boston on Tuesday, and they are coming off a blowout, no easy games.
  11. Before I hear anyone say play Danis Saturday over Theodore... Just a funny thing about tonight's game. Couple years ago, Garon's first NHL game... VS Atlanta, result... Shutout. I say we play Halak next time we play them... It's a sure bet
  12. Ribeiro is awful, sit him for the rest of the game. Give Higgins his spot at centre, he actually is playing and can work at both ends of the ice. Ribeiro didn't have a good preseason either, seems to have his head in the clouds...
  13. Well since there is no game this year... I guess there isn't much discussion
  14. Kill me now, PLEASE kill me now... Went to the Sens game last night, on the way up to Ottawa, car is reving pretty weird, didn't think much of it... see the Habs win... get back in the car, on my way back to Ottawa, my tranny, or engine just die... on a highway ramp... can't get it fixed until tomorrow, when the dealers are open... At my friends appartment now, A 2003 Acura RSX with 28,000KM..... God hates me.
  15. I wonder how this trade will effect the team, if at all. Bonk was pretty happy to play with is best friends brother... I'm sure Radek is pretty pissed off. He's a guy I would like to keep happy.
  16. I'm really angry about this one, why not cut Sunny, send him down, hope he doesn't clear waivers instead? Hossa is a bigger, stronger, younger, cheaper, 3rd line option. Man... We better be making a right move here, I'm steaming mad.
  17. I hate this move... Garth Murray? Give me a break... Hossa looked great this preseason, I trust Gainey, but this move STINKS!
  18. Yeah Murray can be sent down, so Latendresse just made the team IMO... 3 players left to cut, Mark Streit, Raitis Ivanans and one more... either Latendresse, Perezhogin... or Sundstrom gets moved. Stay tuned...
  19. For Garth Murray, god no... http://www.rds.ca/canadien/chroniques/189021.html Edit: Added the Trade icon (for once there's a trade lol) [Edited on 2005-10-1 by sakiqc]
  20. Opening Night roster... Zednik-Koivu-Kovalev Perezhogin-Ribeiro-Ryder Bulis-Bonk-Hossa Higgins-Begin-Pleckanec Souray-Komisarek Markov-Rivet Boullion-Dandenault Theodore Danis Scratched: Vandermeer, Dagenais, Hainsey That's 23 guys, now I realize Sundstrom isn't there I think we may try and move him, or send him down and hope he gets picked up off waivers. I can't see Perezhogin, Pleckanec, Higgins, Hossa not being on the team. The second line LW spot should be interesting because Dagenais could still have a shot at keeping it.
  21. From SI... Finally someone who doesn't see us missing the playoffs, rather challanging for top spot in the North-East. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writ...view/index.html [Edited on 2005/9/27 by Habby1197]
  22. Devils still aren't under te cap... more changes coming. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?id=137756
  23. Impossible that we trade for Biron... he's making 2.1 million this season, no way are we going to pay that to a back up goalie.
  24. I sent an e-mail already, two days ago... I'm still waiting for a reply. They better change is back.
  25. RDS takes it offline, interesting... I wonder what happened.
