  1. Well, the Saint John-Cape Breton game is a bit of a snoozer at this point, it's 12-4 Sea Dogs in the 3rd. Beaulieu scored the 12th goal, has a couple assists, and a game high +5 rating. Shawinigan is up 6-1 in the 3rd, Ellis has 2 goals, Bournival a pair of assists.
  2. Weber (lower body) out for the game, I think we'll see St-Denis up for tomorrow.
  3. Up to 6 shots 16 minutes in...and it's 2-0 Milwaukee, not a good night for Mayer so far.
  4. Nope, it just gives them the ability to suspend beyond 5.
  5. Wow, I left the room just as the buzzer expired, missed 42 minutes in penalties. White with 5, Subban 10, Foligno 10, and Neil 17. PP for the Habs coming up.
  6. So we now have a 4th shot...and it went in, 1-0 Admirals. Engqvist is back which is good news, he takes the place of Hendrixx in the lineup. Jesse Todd is in for Ryan Flanigan as well.
  7. It'll be interesting to see how the Habs respond from Spezza's goal (could be huge for my pool by the way); after a period of huge momentum, that was quite a let down.
  8. 11 minutes in, it's 2-1 Milwaukee...in shots on goal, 0-0 the score. 3 combined shots in 11 minutes? Yeesh.
  9. In NHL history? 21 seconds I believe.
  10. The Bulldogs kick off a 3-in-3 stretch (since a 12 game road trip isn't bad enough) as they take on the Admirals...from Milwaukee thankfully and not Norfolk. With a win, Hamilton would be 1 point behind Milwaukee and could move into a tie for...14th in the West. Active scoring leaders: Goals: Andreas Engqvist (19) Assists: Frederic St-Denis (25) Points: Andreas Engqvist (35) +/-: Henry/Slaney (+2) PIMS: Zack FitzGerald (229) Active scoring leaders: Goals: Chris Mueller (26) Assists: Kyle Wilson (26) Points: Chris Mueller (49) +/-: Scott Ford (+17) PIMS: Zack Stortini (120) Puck drop is at 8:00 PM EST and can be listened to by clicking this link: http://cham.player.amri.ca/
  11. Meh, the run had to come to an end some time, fun while it lasted. That should be a decent matchup too, get a chance to see one of the higher rated goalies in the draft in Subban.
  12. Just a note that as the Habs lost this game, I can't do tonight's GDT per board tradition; someone else, please feel free to step up.
  13. It would depend on the type of player being given up but I wouldn't be entirely against it in the right deal. It appears already that this is Columbus' plan with the top pick.
  14. Yeah, this one is getting a little odd...wondering if they're reacting to all the hubbub around the incident.
  15. It'll be a phone hearing, 5 games or less.
  16. Props to Cunneyworth for at least sending the right message to the players by pulling Price as early as he did (roughly 3:45 left) and continuing to do so...until 2 more penalties were taken in the offensive zone. Good idea, bad execution.
  17. This one hasn't been pretty, it appears they're taking a page out of Toronto's book.
  18. Just looked, it appears Tebow makes just under $2 million this year. Surely they could have afforded to keep him money wise; heck, I suspect most backups that are worth anything (off their first contract) get at least that much.
  19. Tebow and a 7th to the Jets (who just extended Mark Sanchez for some odd reason) for a 4th and 6th. Again, I'm not familiar with Denver's salary situation but if that's the best they could get, they'd have been better off keeping him. NO coach Sean Payton suspended for the year for 'Bounty-gate' while the defensive coordinator gets suspended indefinitely while the GM gets 8 games. Methinks the message will be received around the league...although I'll be curious to see how they enforce a GM suspension. Also, one other assistant got 6 games, the team was fined $500k, while being stripped of their next two 2nd rounders.
  20. He is coming along pretty well in my opinion. I couldn't understand why he was being sat so often in the year (in favour of Berger, Lefebvre, etc) but whatever the reason, it seems to have worked as he's now a regular inside what is supposed to be a top-6 forward group. (Guys like Avtsin, Slaney, despite being more experienced, are still in the bottom half...)

  22. Avtsin had a phenomenal year in his draft year playing in a Russian junior league, that's what caught the attention of scouts. Even the 9 points in 30 games isn't half bad for an 18 year old in the men's league. For whatever reason, he can't put forth the effort consistently here. As for the notes on the new guys, all Derek noted was that they had signed and 2 of them were playing; I don't even recall him mentioning letting Lampe/Haddad go.
  23. Nattinen scores to make it 2-0! Even more interesting, Avtsin finally gets a point, setting up the goal on the PP.
  24. Great spin job by Derek Wills in the first intermission interview - 10 points back but the good news is almost every game they're playing a team they're trying to catch. They're 14th in the conference, of course that's the case (especially in a league where there are some teams in the other conference that Hamilton doesn't play).
