I think the Canucks solved the goaltending problem for 1 year, we will see what Luongo does for a contract. Now Nasland has nobody to protect him. This move only improved one area and weakend another. Better hope Carter resigns to play with the twins as that is the real line in Vancouver.

Let us all hope as he will help them miss the playoffs once again. Hope they resign brain cramp McCabe too!

Does anyone have a source that Mr. Make-it-up knew this before anyone else? And please not the spector or other gossip/rumour sites. I'm questioning the source. It is like this in NBA boards where everyone is being traded.

As much as I would love to see the big guy in a Habs uniform, I believe they can get better offers elsewhere. Pittsburg has the #2 pick overall and some young stars. St Louis with #1 overall has that magical #1 pick and Pronger may want to go back. New owner may want a superstar defenceman and Pronger fits the bill. He was traded to Edmonton, he never went there as a free agent.

To move up it will cost Montreal some youth. Forget about Ribs and Zed, these guys are not needed at the draft for the non playoff teams. Ribero though is being talked about on Calgary boards as Iggy is needing a new center. Ribero cannot score but he can pass. I would like to see Montreal start drafting Defence, however if a highly rated forward (like #10 overall for example) is available; I would have to agree with those saying take Best Player Available.

I agree but Toronto still needs another Center and a point guard. Point guard first as it is important to feed the ball to CV31 and CB4. Moe Pete can drive and shoot the 3ball an now they have a true center. (I know overpaid salary big man) BPA in this case could be trade down, get a PG and still pick the Big Italian Euro Star!

Not to worry, Vancouver is a pretender and Detroit has to trade good young youth to get him. Shanahan and Chelios are a little old.

The Fan590 is saying Toronto is using Domi and Belfour as trade bait for the Ducks #1 goalie or San Jose's #1 goalie. hahahahahahahahahahaahha are these people for real. I have to agree with KTC. If Arnott was in Montreal for 2 to 3 years this would help our center position while a player like Plekanec develops his skills. I think the future for center with the HABS is Chipchura and Plekanec. Both should be able to contribute offensively (NOT prolific goal scorers, 60 point players) and be responsible centers. I can see Arnott in Montreal and would love to see him in the Habs uniform. He won't be the #1 center but probably should be considered the #1.

Strachan is not someone who understands what a fact is. He makes up his truth and sources and has generated trades in his mind. Everyone is still going to be signed by the Leafs and the less intelligent Leaf fan believes him.

Me thinks your players % is a little messed up. Colangelo is 80% for Bargnani as he is 7'1" and can shoot the lights out from the arc and inside. Also, Morrison is not needed as there is no upside as he is as good as it gets. (Not that he is bad as he is a fantastic SF) I am convinced now that the Raptors will trade with Portland to get Jarrett Jack as the current scouts wanted him bad. They might also go after Speedy Claxton as a veteran Point Guard. Right now the only point guard on the roster that can run the team is Mike James and he thinks he is God??? With all the smoke screens going on Roy(SG) is NBA ready and the Raptors are being very coy about him.

And Newpaper reporters, TSN, Sportsnet, and all their so called hockey experts (healy the leaf jerk) are always right. Spector, The Fourh Period and the rest are all just trying to get attention and they have no clue. Well my brother's wife's cousin who works as a line cook heard a rumour that bla bla bla.... This is very true except they can only spend so much before they hit the cap. It used to be ridiculous how much money the top teams spent at the trade deadline. Plus teams like the Leafs now have get a farm system going instead of relying on the league to provide players for them. The small market teams will not spend to the cap in many cases. Montreal should not be considered small market as they have a robust city and should be able to develope some corporate wealth now that they are respectable on the ice. I can see Montreal up to $40M when Bob gainey is all said and done this summer.

I think Muller knows the true Montreal fans just love him like a brother. One cannot combine player loyalty to an organization or Gretzky would never have been traded from Edmonton. (I know Peter was out of money and sold him) My point is that sports is a business and players realize this.

How soon people forget. When Domi resigned with the leafs he said he had another offer(not just Pittsburg) and said it would not be right for him to be seen in anything but Toronto blue. Habs made a run at him and lost. Domi will not be in Montreal; relax as his game has passed. I have noted that he did absolutely nothing of any significance to make Toronto better.

As usual I find myself agreeing with with you. Good post KTC. I do not always spell correctly due to my very horrid typing skills. I try guys, even picked up Mavis Beacon teaches typing so I am trying! Replacing Ribero with Arnott would definitely be an upgrade. I have always liked Arnott for his playoff experience and hard work.

For a veteran with one year left it is spread out over two years, if he has two years left they can spread it over 4 years. As validated by the Top Leaf Brass Mr. JF junior and the Columbus GM (Maclean?). If Domi gets bought out they can spread it out over two years. I only call them as I see them and from the GM's mouths.
