  1. I like Andrew Archer much more than Ryder. BTW, what happened to the puke smiley :puke: this one doesn't cut it  and that one's too small  and that one isn't angry enough. the flame was good. that one's ok... how bout an australian smiley? maybe a kangaroo, or a fair dinkum hat? no? too much? fine :-^ you too. < /smilies > [Edited on 2003/5/27 by TheAussiePosse]
  2. Maybe have some games!!! Like "Pin the tail on the ass" and have Bob Goodenow and Gary Bettman. Also, go to www.puckhandlers.com and look at the forums (home page) make like you're about to post a message, and look at all the smileys. "like we don't have enough" you say. Well, I want more!!! So can you make/get more please? dankeschon
  3. OK, here's the logo: :hlogo: You've all seen if before (if you haven't, just stop reading now) But what does it mean. ON www.canadiens.com/english, it says that it means "Club of Hockey" (or something to that effect). However, I've also read that the 'C' stands for Canadiens (duh) and the H for "Habitants" (thus habs) So, before you rip me for being stupid, think. What is the real answer? "Club of Hockey" or "Natives of Canada" (translated)
  4. Seriously though, what would you say if AS brought him back? or :nono:
  5. The only reason I want Potvin is that he's a Quebecoisian (Quebecasion, Quebec...?) goalie who can be resigned for cheap if no-one wants him, and he's an older backup. We don't need 2 young goalies, and there aren't that many teams who want to spare theirs (Brodeur? -Who else is old). Potvin is capable enough to win us 10 of 15, maybe even 20 of 25 if Jose is rested/benched. Garon hasn't proved himself yet, don't think he has. I would like to give Garro a chance somewhere else, and West Conference is ideal (we played the Kings twice last season). People don't realise that losing Garon would mean we'd need a goalie as a backup. Michaud and Tarasov/Fichaud will be in Hamilton. We don't have any other goalies who will be good enough to back up Theodore competently. Mich and Tarasov are both inexperienced (Hamilton will improve them), but Fighaud's too old, and Fiset hasn't been under contract for a year now (I suggested trading Theodore and using Fichaud last summer as a joke. I've kept at it all year too. ) So losing Garon would only help us if we gained another goalie as backup. Anyone thought about aquiring Jean-Michel Filiatrault in 3rd/4th round? Or Aaron Sorochan? Here's a link: http://www.hockeysfuture.com/Stats/csbgoalie.php They were both recommended by friends of mine, who happen to be scouts themselves (or whose cousins are scouts). And no, this isn't a HossaRules reccomendation. I am true to my word, and while I'm not saying we'll get them, they're worth looking at, even just for the future.
  6. Perreault didn't do too bad as 3rd line centre at the end of the season. I don't particularily like Juneau (he was only good in Washington and Ottawa), so losing him for free would be a plus. Higgins won't make the team out of training camp unless Koivu is injured, Juneau is traded, and one of Bulis/Kilger is playing wing. Perreault-Ribeiro-Higgins-? Hmm. Oh well. Maybe Perry will get a chance (is he wing or centre?) ((Perry is a nickname for Perezhogin... well, it's better than "Zhog"))
  7. For the amount of squabbles he's had, you'd have thought he'd be known for something other than "the time of the month". J/K Markov
  8. MOVE OVER KOIVU, WE HAVE A REAL CAPTAIN COMING TO TOWN!!! SCREW TURGEON, ROBITAILLE, DAHLEN!!! KIRK MULLER IS UFA!!! Just think, the captain we always wanted!!! Tough, reliable, proven scorer, physical. Exactly what our first line needs as a LW. So c'mon AS, screw the youth movement!!! Muller's rearin to go!!! Muller-Juneau-McKay!!! Or Muller-Koivu-Audette!!! I'M LOVING IT ALREADY!!! :puke:
  9. As much as I love Deader, he's not what we want. I'd look at guys like Frolov, Armstrong, or a combination of Cammalerri, Aulin and Kuznetsov. Some might be hard to pull away, but we're looking for a youth movement, and Deader will be gone within 5 years, retirement or concussion
  10. Actually, harder would be better. At one stage I was winning 7-0, then I stopped playing, and now I struggle as Japan defeating USA in tournament mode. But you know what they need? Better loose puck AI. Somehow, everytime I lose the puck, or it's dump and chase, I can go past the puck 20x times, and miss it. Or the comp will go past 20 times. But in the end, the 2nd player will get the puck. I don't know what's up there, but I hope it's fixed. BTW, Don Taylor's getting replaced. :nono: I'lll miss his antics. While immature and wearing, sometimes a well placed comment makes you stop playing, and laugh and laugh and Oh well, hope they have better songs. I couldn't get the song-adder-inner to work, and that pissed me off royally (:king: ) [Edited on 2003/6/29 by TheAussiePosse]
  11. I've said that since half way through the season. However, the only chance they'll take him is if we aquire the rights to Potvin in the trade. Which isn't a bad idea, mayb eget a draft pick in return. No, they think Huet is their future, and while I'm all for Garon going to Kings, it won't happen. A.) All three of their 1st rounders? ARE YOU (*&^ING KIDDING ME? If we had Roy in net, and we gave up Komisarek, Hossa and a 1st rounder for DiPietro, what would you say. I'd put Garon in Dipper's boat just because they will probably play the same amount of games next season. Dipper is untried, and we're not sure if he's the next Turco or the next Weekes. They don't want McKay, and sure as hell don't want Traverse. Traverse will go to Hamilton next season, and don't be surprised if he does well there. McKay, well, I'll give him another season as 3rd/4th line RW. Maybe this season will be a turnaround. And Lubomir Visnovsky, as much as you might like him, is just an offensive Bouillion with no physical side. I'd prefer Vishnevsky from Anaheim (even the commentators get them confused... Visnov, Vishnev, Sno, Shne, etc.) But losing Garon for the rights to Potvin (he's a UFA) and a first rounder would go quite nicely. Even if it was 27th overall. Potvin might be old and shoddy, but there are teams looking for goalies still.
  12. Just because I live in Australia doesn't mean I'm like most Americans, in the fact thatI dont' leave my own country. I was living in Washington DC for the past 4 years, and I often took trips up to Montreal or Los Angeles. I was one of many Caps fans who were cheering when Zednik and Bulis were traded to Montreal. But I was cheering as a habs fan, not a Caps fan. I was also stationed in Germany, where I got to watch Sergei Berezin play with the Koln Haie, right before he left to Toronto. I do travel nowadays, though I concentrate on helping Australian prospects more than hoping for Montreal's. Who knows, maybe in 10 years time, I'll go to the Habs and ask them if they want a scout for the Asia-Pacific region. There is a future in hockey down here, and the sooner the potential is realised, the better. But until then I'll watch the Habs and the Dogs and cheer as a fan. However, I don't see a future in this organization for Ryder. I hope I'm wrong (I didn't believe Dykhuis could do anything when he first was traded here), but who knows. Jose Theodore could be out the door tomorrow So without further adieu... The Smiley Sh:)w :king: :hlogo: :-^ :ghg: :que: :can: :eyes:
  13. Devils in 7 Yeah baby!!! And Jiggy for MVP! 14. Trade Perreault Trade Hossa Trade Audette Trade Czerkawski Trade Juneau Trade Dackell Trade Blouin Trade Dykhuis Trade Traverse Trade Souray Trade Brisebois Trade Garon Hell, let's trade the Montreal Canadiens for the Winnipeg Jets and a 1st rounder
  15. Personally, I don't think so. I'd rather he be our 3rd line centre in the future, playing gritty hockey and shutting down the other team's line than 2nd line scorer. But anyway, what's your opinion? Is Higgins really going to be that good?
  16. 1.) Malakhov isn't really high priced. Neither is Lemieux (Claude). I think you mean dead-wood like Dykhuis or locker-room breakers like Juneau. 2.) Arnott a headcase? I don't think so. Don't know about you, but having him on this team would be great. There's more than one reason for Dallas moving Turgeon: Arnott's taking his place. 3.) I don't think I'd like to be like the Devils. Sure, they're super-disciplined, but it leads to boring hockey. The series was only fun to watch when the goals were scored. No end-to-end, firewagon hockey here. I think I'd prefer a 6-5 game over a 2-1 game anytime. We all love Jose, but as long as he gets the win, it's all good. My 2nd favourite team are the L.A. Kings. Watching their No.1 line (Deadmarsh-Allison-Palffy) is incredible. I can't wait till we have some polished wingers to help Koivu. But for the Devils being exciting? I don't think so.
  17. I am a big fan of PC NHL computer games. I was severely disappointed in NHL 2003, but that's OK. Here's a link for NHL 2004 http://www.pcgameworld.com/story.php/id/1723/ -New fighting system? Not too keen on that. But now Jose Theodore can kick the *&^# out of Vaclav Varada in the game when Veranda interferes But -Using a dual-analog controller gives you 360 degrees of checking as well as deking. You can now give hits anywhere on the ice, in any direction. Hip-checks are my favourite, and when I'm done with the other team, it'll be awesome. -You can get points as GM to hire better staff, and get better free agents. This is more like it. EastCoast Hockey Simulator didn't cut it for me, I hope their 2004 version is better. So check it out. Should be a good buy, but don't quote me on it. And if you happen to have a copy of either NHL '93, '94, or '97, please let me know. I have a collection of every other one, and I'd like to make it complete. Thanks!
  18. In Australia it goes: Squirt (Under 10s) Pee-wees (Under 13s) Bantams (Under 15s) Midgets (Under 17s) Senior A (Full check, slapshot) Super League (our version of the NHL) And in it, we have an ex-NHL player. Quebecois to be exact. On the Adelaide Avalanche. So check it out www.aihf.org
  19. There's a draft? When? Where? seriously though, GUESS WHAT!!! I GET THE DRAFT ON TV!!! AT 3:00 AM MONDAY MORNING!!! AND I'LL BE UP WATCHING IT TOO. SAME WITH THE AWARDS. WHOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEE :guru:
  20. :wall: :wall: THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL RYDER IS MAKING THE TEAM NEXT SEASON! HE IS NOT THAT GOOD! HE WILL BE A DACKELL AT BEST ONE DAY. UNTIL THEN, HE STAYS IN THE MINORS! BULIS ON 3RD LINE=RYDER ON 1ST LINE= AND THAT AIN'T RIGHT
  21. Then who did Zednik fight with? Samsonov? I can't remember.
  22. Does he have to leave? I've been a fan of his ever seince aquiring him from FLA. Maybe we can resign him then trade him. NM, that wouldn't work. BUt seriously, are we just gonna let him walk?
  23. Just writing this one to have control of all boards. Ok, enough of that. How bout this one: Joe Thornton and Bubba in the Dallas Cowboy's Cheerleader's dressing room. Wait, :puke: scratch that. I was thinking as joe thornton then. Edit : Removed extra smilies. [Edited on 2003/5/22 by puck7x]
