  1. I looooooooove a nice PP goal with Ovechkin in the box!
  2. Anderson was matched up against Wilson, about five minutes.
  3. Slafkovsky using his strength to win on the boards, Demidov with a great play to get to behind the net and find Slafkovsky. And, yes, then the shot! We have skill now. And will to win!
  4. Matheson almost 11 minutes in the first period ... losing Carrier would be a killer.
  5. No call on stick knocked out of hands. Or on a head check on Hutson, though. Excessive consistency is certainly not one of the problems with NHL officiating.
  6. So, Thompson is in (what was the Friday charade all about, then?) but Protas is still out. Let's hope the boys pepper Thompson early and often to see what he's made of.
  7. While that would leave me doing three more GDTs, I'm willing to make that sacrifice for the greater good!
  8. ... and getting the last change at home.
  9. The Habs showed what they were capable of in Game 3 of the series, shellacking the Capitals 6-3. With Jakub Dobeṧ the likely starter, will their defence and goaltending continue to hold up? Will they be able to control the game as much as they did on Friday night? And will the Bell Centre crowd be as loud as two nights ago? Patrik Laine is unlikely to play due to an injured wrist, while Joel Armia is playing through his own wrist injury. We'll be waiting for #13 to play key role in this game as well. Washington may start Logan Thompson in net in spite of an apparent injury when he was run over by his own teammate on Friday night, and man mount Aliaksei Protas might be ready to return from his regular-season injury, so there are several unknowns on the Washington side. Projected starting lines: Caufield - Suzuki - Slafkovský Newhook - Evans - Demidov Anderson - Dvorak - Gallagher Armia - Kapanen - Heineman Guhle - Hutson Matheson - Carrier Struble - Savard Dobeṧ Primeau
  10. Right ... so why did they not recall him? Unless they don't need him, or they are suddenly worried about putting him on waivers.
  11. Primeau not recalled yet from Laval? Habs waiting until tomorrow, or js Montembeault well enough to dress as a backup?
  12. An old tweet but maybe Basu knew what he was talking about? https://x.com/RiseFromTheAshZ/status/1882991847934738893
  13. Dropping Savard would have a big impact on the PK. I don't think St-Louis would do that, at least not in this series.
  14. What options does Laval have? Can they sign an (unsigned) European goalie to be the backup for the playoffs?
  15. Protas (another giant (Bela)russian might or might not be back tomorrow. I see less of an issue with that in game 4, but on Wednesday Carbery has the last change.
  16. If Xhekaj had cleared the puck out of the zone the second Washington goal wouldn’t have happened. But, as I recall, Demidov was also out of position on that goal. (Understandable as he is still learning the Habs’ system but the point is that the goal was not all on Xhekaj.)
  17. This game. This is what they were playing for all through the regular season.
  18. What they did tonight. And they need to do again: the hot spot is just outside the blue ice.
  19. Even Savard. He's playing his final games, but he gave it his all.
  20. I would bet that Thompson is out for the playoffs. Montembeault did not look nearly as bad skating off the ice so might not be so long.
