We also had need of a fighter back then but nothing happened. If you don't learn from past mistakes you are doomed to repeat them. -

Habs don't have anyone in that catagory and Murray is just taking up space. When the oilers decided not to resign Laraque that was our chance to get him for nothing. -
San Jose isnt the only show in town, there is 5 other divisions full of teams. Gainey could find someone looking to make a deal. If Sanjose doesnt want to give us what we require in trade then look elsewhere.

You really want one of our most valuable assets throwing knuckles with all the untalented bruisers in the league? All it takes is one punch and he could injure his hand and be gone for months if not seasons. Laraque is a fighter, maybe the best in the league. Murray isnt a good player and he isnt a good fighter and I wouldn't put my hopes on Obyrne either. -
How many young forwards and prospect do we need? How about just packaging him for someone of consequence.

A trigger man for a natural playmaker like A Kost! Sounds like a match made in Habs heaven.

So he's failed to get someone big for years, he should write that on the resume. Right now Kevin Lowe is looking like a damned genious.

I don't see why we couldn't keep both as backup until we are sure, Price can go down and Danis and Halak can share the backup duties. We really need a bruiser to protect some of our players, Laraque should have been an instant pickup for us. -

The only ones that might be gone by trade deadline will be Ryder, Kovalev and possibly Carbonneau. Yeah lets head into the playoffs with a set of complete rookies or move our best goalie and put next season hopes on someone "possibly" stepping up. -

Beauregard and D agostini both sounded dangerous. Smolinski was also on his game. All's I gotta say is Huets job is safe for awhile yet. -

LOL Kovalev should have to audition to play on Kosty's line! Seriously Kovalev finally shows up and his harem is back to it's usual fervour. When he takes his routine 4 or 5 next games off then you can break out that old book of excuses. I am sure he is already playing injured in some of your minds. Good game, we won, too bad Archer isn't very intelligent and got his face pounded for nothing. Carle got injured but no biggie no one expected him to make it this season. I can't wait till we dress our real team though. Ryder, Higgins, Koivu, Hamerlik are on the way. -

Who's this Archer Kid? And it's good to see Danis getting another shot. No Higgins, Koivu or Ryder, it will be good to see if the youngsters can perform. -

He was hampered by Carbo not understanding that offensive minded players dont do well on a checking line. Maybe you need to see Carbo send Kosty down to the dogs again to understand his poor coaching abilities. -

Both Perezhogin and Kosty have been hampered by Carboneau, lets hope Kosty doesn't go the same way Perez went.
