  1. Usually people lose thier flow when someone is teaching them something new and taking them out of thier own element. I'm hoping that once Koivu and the other centers get a grip that stat will improve considerably. As far as the 2nd power ranking goes. They deserve it. I think the habs have an edge over any team in the league with thier speed and goaltending except the sens and that would put them at number 2. A very small and careful edge, but they deserve it none the less.
  2. They still must be cleaning up from all the ceremonies Hang tight here it comes!
  3. Did you see as he was shaking all the players hands he gave Brisebois a hug......I thought that was cool...
  4. Cnter Ice on cable is showing a segment on Gainey's hard times so the game isn't on yet....
  5. Geez, I'm getting my ass kicked emotionally. This Gainey stuff is pushing me off the edge. Let's get on with the game. I can't take anymore. WE BETTER WIN.
  6. Man, that brought back a lot of memories. I'm home in Nashville, wife is at work still. Just me and the cat holding back tears like little babies. Man that was good. I feel like such a wimp. O.K!!!!!!! Let's beat on the Sens!!!!!!!!!
  7. Why would you just let him walk? He is an all star goalie that would surely fetch a good return, even if it's a draft pick, we still have halak as a back up no matter what. Just letting him walk seems a little foolish don't you think? Did we learn nothing from the whole Souray thing?
  8. Very important thing right now is to remain calm and patient. Keep Huet in goal, his numbers are good and he has been playing well. Hopefully Ryder starts to score soon(and in bunches). Later in the year when teams fall back in the standings there will be fire sales, and teams on the brink might feel Ryder or Huet will put them over the edge. We must wait for this type of climate if we are to get a good return. For now we should just smile and be happy that we're not desperate and winning games. Now I would be really happy for two more things. 1. We kick the snot out of the Sens tonight. 2. If some of you posters could stop using the word "STUD" to describe hockey players. It's creepy.
  9. Let's forget about the Chara incident for a moment. The guy is a moose. Not too many can go toe to toe with him. I am all for getting a good defensive player that is tough as balls to play on the fourth. Now, Simonus, after reading your post I did realize something. When Gainey traded up in the draft to get Latendresse I didn't know much about him. All the hype around training camp and other things I really did think that we were getting a big tough strong player that would hit, score, and fight if he had to. He may still become that Cam Neely type player. It took Cam many years to develop in Vancouver and Boston. Lats confidence is down the drain at all levels. Much like another poster said this will eventually get to the rest of the team aswell. If we had at least one bonafide bruiser I think everyone on the team would benefit, especially guys like Latendresse, Komi would get even meaner, begin, Kovalev, Kosto all would get massive chips on thier shoulders. All of that confidence would ooze into more hits more space, MORE GOALS!!!!!!!! Just read that article up front on Robinson, the fight with Schultz and the effect it had on the Canadiens and the flyers and the rest of the series. Burke said it best the other night. " I need that big hit, I need that big save, I need that big goal and I need a fight, that's what puts people on the edge of thier seat and coming back for more." I couldn't agree more. A big tough guy would really help the development of this young team. You guys know how brutal and aggresive play-off hockey gets. Fluffy teams don't go very far, and we are fluffy at the moment.
  10. Perhaps the Montreal Canadiens should threaten to leave? Perhaps they could get a tax break in Barrie, Brampton, or Hamilton. If it's so important why don't the fans boycott going to games untill the taxes are friggin lowered? With the salary cap the only one who should be concerned is Gilette and his pockets. From everything that's come out of his mouth you can be sure a tax break would NOT trickle down to Habs fans saving money. He would still figure out a way to charge even more for tickets. Soooooooooooooooo........figure out loops in the salary-cap system to get some serious players on this team instead of claiming piss poor to the city and filling his own pockets even more then they already are. I don't know, I live in Nashville, they just sold for 200 million and nobody cares except maybe a few thousand people. Montreal is taking advantage of it's situation. The ones who can truly change it are you the people that live there and go to games. Just like the players cut us off during the lock-out you could do the same to the city. I guess it comes down to how important it all really is and who will spread the word. It can be done very easily though with the right person leading the charge.
  11. Didn't Florida just pick him up from us? NO!
  12. Ya he looked pretty hot doing a face plant into the ice after pretending to take on CHARA, while Kovalev was still adjusting his helmet strap and fixing his hair. It's bad enough watching a player get dummied but it's even worse watching the player watch himself get dummied on the scoreboard and cringe in disgust of his own beating. Ya we need muscle in a Cris Neil, chris Nilan frame. Muscle with a little skill. I wish Begin was a little tougher. Carbo and Muller looked pretty pissed last night after #### got a beating. I'm hoping they were pissed to the point of taking action. Jimmy Bonneau is around but every video I've seen him in he gets worked. Don't think he is the answer.
  13. Peters was mouthing off at the bench, he called Latendresse out, nothing. They all acted like they were scared. I'm mostly bummed at what a Pu$$y Latendresse is ending up to be. He's huge.........he doesn't have to be a scrapper but some emotion and intensity would be nice.
  14. How long before we get a "Is Carbo losing the team ?" thread.
  15. Not really, I mean Huet has been o.k. The team has been blowin ass all night., but not as much as Theo in Dallas ...it's 5-0 in the second.
  16. AaAAAAAAAAA you are right. I was pissed for no reason. But I'm pissed again. WTF is up with Latendresse. That moment with Peters was time to stand up and scrap. Spark up the team. Tonight is a night where we could use some muscle
  17. I know he did it twice but I've never felt Ryder to be the go to guy. Can he sustain the 30 goal status? I doubt it. He wouldn't worry me if we played against him. Hell, Tucker is more dangerous and brings more to a team then Ryder does. I hope he has one more little spurt so we can get rid of him. I'd trade him to Toronto , Buffalo, Boston...who cares.
  18. I watched the Sabers-Sens game last night. Man, I know the points don't show it but those guys are good and fast. I hate playing Buffalo in Buffalo......they almost always beat us there. Did anyone else catch the Sens-Buffalo game? The goofy announcers said something like " Well, to any Sens fans who watched the Montreal game(referring to last weekend) sure are hoping Montreal makes it to the conference final" with a chuckle. I didn't really get it, but it still pissed me off. I've had a huge hate on the Sens since they were making bets on the bench they would hold us to 10 shots that one year. F*&^K Them Back to tonight......GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!!! Any chance we could trade Ryder to Buffalo for that Perezhogin look-a-like Afienigov or how ever you spell it. Both seem to be in the dog house.
