  1. Agree 100% about Galleghar. And there to think there were a lot of suggestions about trading him during the summer!! I think if Chicago lost Keith, LAK lost Doughty, or STL Peiterangelo, they would drop in the standings. We lost Markov for pretty much 3 years. That not only impacted our performance during those years, but it also stunted the development and maturity of the whole D core. While Emelin isn't the leader of our D core, he brings an element only Subban comes close to providing, which is why I'd love to replace Gorges with a more physical Dman.
  2. Next year, I'd consider moving Pleks. No way would I want to move Eller. DD, i'd move this year if i could.
  3. I agree about Eller. I like a core of Price, Subban, Markov, Emelin, MaxPac, Eller, Galchenyuk, Galleghar and Pleks. I'm hoping if DD continues to produce he gets move. I can see interest in Gorges from those teams needing leadership (i.e. WPG, EDM).
  4. if we were to trade for Byfuglien, no way we can afford Subban, Markov, Gorges and Emelin. one of our top 3 would be moving. The only way it would make any sense to trade for Byfuglien, if he was going to be a forward like he was in Chicago. If there is any truth in this rumour, what would worry me is MB, moving Subban for the lower salary (with the exception of +/-, stats wise they are pretty close). No way i'd move Subban for anyone not named Crosby, Malkin or Stamkos.
  5. where's Galchenyuk? Nice effort by DD on that shift. Is Galchenyuk being benched or injured?
  6. I disagree. When we get sucked into their goon game, we usually lose.
  7. It was a 4th line vs 2nd line matchup. One of the goals was entirely on Budaj. Plus minus don't tell the whole story.
  8. If their GM were to make this deal, he'd be fired.
  9. 100% agree. Galchenyuk looks lost without another skilled guy and it's ridiculous that Bournival us getting Parros type minutes.
  10. 100% agree. We do badly when we got suckered into their game
  11. AK46 deserved to be ahead of Lats. Fats had size had size but rarely used it an didn't look like someone who cared about conditioning. When AK46 wasn't scoring at least he was usually physically engaged and he looked like someone who worked out. When Lats wasn't scoring he was useless. I think had Gainey put in a decent player development program and given Lats the chance to dominate in the minors, he would have been a better player. Instead the French media treated him like a rock star and that's the way he acted. he rarely showed the dedication to become a hockey star.
  12. He WILL be a liability either way. The guy is a fighter, not a player.
  13. Biggest failing of the Gainey rebuild was he has no concept about how to develop players. He and his staff were old school and just expected professionalism from players. What was curious that while there was bit proper support network for younger players (like the player development personnel that MB brought in), Gainey was willing to play head shrink for veterans, or more specifically become the "Kovelov whisperer". Too many kids were rushed and than had to deal with lousy communicators like Carbo and Martin.
  14. we tend to lose when we get drawn into their goon game.
  15. This is why fighting has no place in hockey. John Scott is NOT a hockey player.
  16. think there will be any question about Karlsson not good enough on D for Sweden?
  17. Because I think we can get much more offense with him playing with Eller and Galchenyuk. They aren't as dangerous without Galleghar. I'd have 3 strong lines than two strong and 2 okay lines.
  18. I'd rather have White. White's Sakarya is cheap, he has been great this year. Ott is probably making 2.5 what White is getting paid.
  19. Those dealings were with clueless Joe, not Nill who picked up a #1 centre Seguin so the Bruins can get more depth in their lineup.
  20. Depends on what we are giving up. I'd move Bourque, Diaz and dd. Cap wise that would work. Columbus would probably be looking for a 1st, 2nd and a prospect. If that's the price than screw it.
  21. Edmonton and Florida are two teams that would have benefited from having a Gionta going into this season. Don't know if Gionta would have been willing to move his no-trade clause. I could also see yhr NJD a team that would probably be happy to take him back.
  22. If we are in a playoff position, we can't trade our captain. I wish we moved him last summer, but you can't move your captain, if you are in playoff contention.
  23. I wouldn't offer Murrey a contract either, but than I also wouldn't have offered Bouillon a contract last year. A better move IMO would have been Hainsey. He isn't great defensively or overly physical, but he is better than both Murrey and Bouillon.
  24. I'd rather have Murrey in for 10 minutes than Bouillon for 16 to 18 min.
