Afternoon games suck. I didn't even realize that puck drop was at noon on the west coast. I guess I'm kinda glad I missed it. Tomorrow's not gonna be any easier, either. Pens got a win tonight and you know they're gonna show up to come at us after Thursday's game. I was really happy to see that at least Streit and Bonk got on the scoresheet. Those two have been really putting everything they've got for this team, and Streit especially has turned out to be a great fit as a utility forward/defenceman who can step up and play some minutes in almost any situation. It's tough to get a feel for how the game went on the forums, though. Everyone's either a fanboy or a hater of someone, and after every game they call for them to be traded or immortalized in gold. I guess I'll just have to watch the replay on RDS tonight and cry myself to sleep. At least I know to watch tomorrow's game...you know, in between calculus assignments and before I have to head out to the arena for my own game. I'm 0-3 on game days where the Habs lose...so I need a break here!

If Streit continues to embrace the idea of playing as a forward 5on5 and on the PK, and getting time on the blueline on the PP, he could become a force. He still seems a little akward doing things normal forwards should be able to do (crashing the net, going alone on a D-man, ect...) but it's not to say that he can't work around that. He's certainly got the jump. Kind of funny how a defensively-######ed defenceman can be a good defensive forward/PP specialist.

Aw man, what the hell? I leave you guys for one day because I have 11 straight hours of classes, and we lose? Doesn't sound like a great effort, so I'm kinda glad I missed it. I was keeping updated on the score in class on my cell, so I was crying a little on the inside during my Chem lab. I'll miss the 3rd period tomorrow, I've got my own puck drop at 7:30 (PST for you easterners ), so I'm hoping for a win...and not only because I'll be wearing my Koivu jersey all day in Canuck land, either Cheer up, boys and gals. We've come back from worse than this. It's just a bump in an otherwise unbeleiveable season.

I hope Ottawa puts in another 6 and we don't mount a failed comeback. To be honest, I'd rather lose 12-2 than 6-5.

Why do we pay Aaron Downey again? I know he's trying hard, but really the only role we've ever expected him to perform was to fight. Everything else he does is just gravy. Why, then, when the team is playing like shit, does he not try and fight someone?

I was talking to a local store owner who's old friends of Downey's awhile ago, and from what I heard, he's not going anywhere. Gainey really likes Downey, and Downey loves playing in Montreal and for Gainey. Bob knows exactly what to expect from Aaron when he's called to play. And to be fair, he's really stepped up his intensity as of late. I have no problem giving Downey 30-35 games a year at the league minimum, as he's worth a lot in team chemistry and morale. He may not play much, but he's very well liked.

Looks like Huet is sick of this effort and wants to take defence into his own hands!
