    CFL Playoffs

Quebeqois: I was speaking historically. I can still remember MTL getting whipped by EDM in the '70's except for 1977(Thank you Tony Proudfoot)
  2. Bullis the Habbie, I can't believe you said that " ... If we beat Ottawa, I don't mind losing to Toronto." I ALWAYS hate losing to TO. I hope that Habs will play at least .500 hockey in this 4 game stretch, but two losses in a row to the Laughs will make me retch:puke:
  3. Unless I missed something, Dag's scoring ability won us the last game. If he continues to contribute-- with almost zero ice time-- why not reward him. Phooey on the ADP
  4. Thats what I said " Then AS provided some relief..." AS= Andre Savard

I'd be happy to see MTL in the GC every year. I dont think that the novelty would wear off anytime soon. But Why do they always have to play...and usually lose to... @*@*@#!!**&%^ Edmonton?
  6. The problem was that we gave up three NHLers and got back Recchi and a draft pick. At the time LeClair and Dionne still had tons of upside and Desgardins was a top defenseman. It sucked and Houles follow-up trade made it even harder to bear. Then AS provided some consolation l by getting Bullis, Zed and Zhog for Darius what's his name
  7. Uh, yeh, he he Dags for Gauthier, that's the ticket. In our dreams. Dags isnt going anywhere except Hamilton, unless his play picks up. Hopefully CJ will find a way to utilize his limited skills on the power-play. Having experienced the handicap of a lack of speed in sports myself, i feel sorry for the guy, but he would help his cause a lot by learning to position himself to compensate for his deficiencies

the last prediction I made was 5-3 MTL over NJ and we all know what happened next...sooo, I'll go back to my superstitious ways and avoid predictions.
  9. Who is/was the moron? Richer or Corson?

I am pumped that the Als are going to the Grey Cup again, but why does it always have to be against the !@%%^#**!!!! Eskimutts? I HATE Edmonton. I hope the defense can kick their ass. BTW, even a biased broadcast beats not being able to see the action. I like CJAD's coverage but its just not the same as TV> Damned Fox Sports screwed me over again:wall:
  11. Quote What I think is that there is concern here on how the team is losing. I agree that the team could and should be playing better. However, it is virtually impossible for any team to play well for all 80 games. I won't start to worry unless the losing streak continues. [Edited on 2005/11/20 by PMAC]
  12. I think the waiver situation works like this: 1. Marchant stays in the AHL. CBJ pay his full salary, but it doesnt count against the cap 2. If they call him up and he clears waivers he's back on the team and they try (again) to make a trade 3. If they call him up and another team claims him CBJ have to pay half of his salary and it counts against the cap. Any way you look at it they lose, just like the Devils are paying Krystov Oliwa an NHL salary to play in the AHL
  13. No changes. Bob is going to wait and see how the team handles some adversity before he does anything. The team and Kovalev decided that he should have the surgery now because the team was going well. Obviously, they, and we, knew that there would be some rough spots along the way with one of the best players --and leaders on a young team-- missing. Patience.
  14. Sh**T now we have something to complain about. These kinds of games are unavoidable over a long season. The key is that we win the next game and avoid a 3 game losing streak.
  15. Hey, what about my brilliant analysis of the alternatives available to us
  16. nah, 4-2. MTL. Its about time we win by more than 1 goal
  17. Well said Shortcat:lol:
  18. Please Marky and Komi tell me you were joking! Tie Dummy as a habs? :puke::puke::puke: Only when they fire BG and replace him with Houle
  19. Please forgive me for once again referring to the Dark years, but I found it interesting that from Houle's reign of error there are only four players left on the current Habs roster. An incredibly lucky 1998 draft gave is Ribs, 2nd round, Markov in the 6th round and Ryder in the 8th round. This shows that even then the hockey gods had not forsaken us. The fourth player is Souray who came over in perhaps Houle's only good deal, the Malakov trade.
  20. At last someone else who just wants to revel in the team's incredible record and not just debate endlessly about who we need to trade to get better. What this team needs is more time to gel. By the trade deadline BG will have a good idea of what we need for the playoffs. Until then patience will be necessary because i dont see any trades or other pick-ups in our future unless Bob is able to unload a player like Hainsey for a draft pick. All hail Bob and Claude and Andre Savard and be grateful :bow::bow::bow:
  21. I believe that the NHLPA's thinking was that eventually teams will get desperate enough to call these guys up and their chances of getting picked up by another team is better since the acquiring team doesnt pay the full salary.... alas for AHL'ers it is having a freezing effect on call-ups I for one hate the rule because I would like to see Hainsey get another shot in MTL this year BTW whats the rule about keeping a guy who you've picked up on waivers?
  22. And, I forgot to mention we are 4th in goals against in the Eastern conference....whaada want, egg in your beer?
  23. If we were going to trade Theo who would we get that's better? Belfour? dont make me laugh... like the rest of his over the hill teammates he'll be lucky to play a complete season. Cujo? also too old and not a good playoff goalie Luoungo? obviously not proven in the playoffs, a FA next season who will be demanding a significant raise and a goalie who will have a significant adjustment period if he ever gets on a team that can play defense Graham? not even worth commenting on Khaibulin? over-rated, over-paid Brodeur? Who exactly would we give up to pry him out of Jersey?? Who else? Our prospects are too young and inexperienced to handle the pressure of starting in Montreal Give me a break! While Theo hasnt stolen many games for the team he hasnt given many away either. It doesnt really matter how Theo is playing now (as long as the team wins enough to make the playoffs) as long as he rounds into form as the season progresses... and wins in the playoffs. Bottom line: you dont trade your starting goaltender when your young team is at the top of the standings unless a ridiculous deal comes up. As I've said before, the only way I would be in favour of trading Theo would be if Keenan lost his mind and we got Luongo and Boumeester for Theo and Dags:) Now that would be the steal of the century:D [Edited on 2005/11/17 by PMAC]
  24. Anaheim's fans must have a really bad case of salary cap blues. I would if the Habs had to trade a top-but aging talent for the metaphorical bag of pucks to dump salary. Speaking of which, wonder what the Devils are going to do when Elias comes back? I wonder if there was any way we could get Colin White?
  25. Plus, why would we ever want the Habs to lose? Julien can punish them with a bag skate if they do it again
