  1. That's good that you don't care. You don't care right? That's what you wanted everyone to know. That you don't care. It's a public forum, get over it. oh wait...you don't care. If you really didn't care you would ignore my posts all together.
  2. What part of intentionally pushing Patch's head into the post absolves him from intent to injure? I'm not jumping to any conclusions or reading Chara's mind. I don't need to it's right there in the replay. He had the opportunity to give one of the Habs a little payback and took it. I saw it in every one of the 50 replays that have run over the last hour.
  3. How can it be a grey area hit while your 100% in agreement that Chara deserves a 10 game minimum? Can't have it both ways. Chara deserves more than 10 games ( which won't happen ) because of his deliberate actions which lead to one of the worst looking injuries I've seen in a long time. Thanks for that. No kid gloves required when responding to one of my posts. I have no intentions of taking my ball and going home.
  4. Don't worry about ganging up on me. I'll defend my point of view on this with anyone. We'll just chalk this up to another " accient " that can be " interpreted " any number of ways. In the mean time another up and coming player is out. Awesome. I think it's pretty clear from the tape that Chara was looking to inflict damage. Maybe he wasn't trying to snap Max's neck, but does that really make a difference?
  5. Here we go getting caught up in semantics again. Fine Chara " pushed" Patch's head into the post and he didn't mean to do it. Gimmie a break.
  6. What grey area? Chara runs Patch down the boards, lifts his arm and drives Max's head into the post. I can't believe that you are calling this an accident.
  7. Wamsley, open your eyes and rewatch the play. Chara directs Patchs head into the post. You CAN make a judgement on the play and the video shows him doing it on purpose. I'm shocked that at this point anyone would still be debating whether it was an accident or not.
  8. The media will still be there tomorrow. It's the City of Montreal is what he really needs to escape from.
  9. The goons and terrible hits of the NHL will probably never go away. Giving an offending player a 2 or 3 game vacation is not the answer. 10 games, for some still not the answer. Hitting their wallets, nope. Only allowing them to return to the game when the player they hurt comes back MIGHT make someone think twice. Would Chara have run down Patch if he thought HE'D miss the rest of the season WITHOUT pay? Probably not. The double penalty of comparable time missed and a pay cheque could be a step in the right direction.
  10. No respectable NHL teams / or players are in the business of ending careers. This is not an eye for an eye situation. However, Chara should not return to to the game until Patch does.
  11. Wow, the Bruins have really shown why they deserve to be a top tier team today. Cry like babies all day and try to help you terrible chances of salvaging the mess you made tonight by going above and beyond to hurt your rivals. The city of Boston should be proud.
  12. I wish you well on your way out the Bell Centre tonight Zdeno.
  13. Looked like a pretty serious run into the post. Potentially ending some guys career calls for way more than a 5 min major. I'd throw him out the front door of the Bell Centre and let the good people of Montreal decide.
  14. I would like nothing more than to see Eller play the rest of the season like he is tonight. Hope it works out.
  15. Watching that puck trickle past Rask and then get put in by a Bruin stick is the best thing I've seen all day.
  16. Glad to see Eller net the first two. Hopefully he keeps this up.
  17. The idea of playing to the level of competition is only a theory that has some credence given to it by the stats. At least the theory suggests that the Habs didn't bring their "A" game. I have a much easier time accepting that than they just weren't good enough to bury a lower tier team. I do like that you refuse to give it any more thought than two sentences and an emoticon. I guess you have all the answers.
  18. Guess my hopes for taking the high road have gone out the window but good on ya White. Hopefully it's the last one.
  19. Hey Wams, look back at my posts, I hope Eller's play improves. Infact I hope it improves like the impressive list of players you have laid out. My point is that maybe Montreal isn't or wasn't the place for him to grow into the big shoes he has to fill on a team like MTL. I'll ask you, would a stint in Hamilton have been so bad? Seems to have done good things for Subban, Patch and DD. As far as the Canadiens go, my idea of a franchise centre is Plek. Always up on the play, working hard to win face offs and dropping back like a champ on defence. Getting to that level is not something that happens overnight. But it's really not something someone should learn on the fly. He's young. Let him develop a bit before throwing him to the wolves. I think the reason why he initially was put in the lineup was because of the trade he was involved in, later we lost too many bodies and needed to fill the gap.
  20. No question the Habs aren't saints. If Marchand is right and the Canadiens play dirty / take shots behind the play they sure make it look easy since it rarely results in penalties. If Plekky is dishing out welts and avoiding the penalty box I applaud him for his gamesmanship. Mouthing off on the ice is part of the game, mouthing off to the press is childish at best. Either way, both examples ( Bruins and Flyers ) are coming from teams that can't deal with the speed of our smaller players / excellent goaltending and have to resort to turning a perfectly good hockey game into a boxing match.
  21. Trial by fire is not my idea of a good late season strategy. Games against top ranked teams, at this point in the year, are not the place to test out theories or break in players. Carey Price has enough to do without bailing out the 4th line. It takes a special kind of player to get thrown to the wolves and come out on top. While Price is proof that it can happen, Eller doesn't seem like a franchise centre. He's had 61 games to get it figured out. He's supposed to be a professional, making professional money. I don't know of any other job that accepts that it's employees are treading water at such a high level, even if he wasn't playing his preferred position. He could be great, but he is not great now and it's doubtful that he will exceed expectation in the 5 weeks. It's too late now to send him to Hamilton but if he'd gone there earlier in the season and stayed I bet he'd be significantly better for next year or a late playoff addition incase of injuries. I wish him the best because he's part of our team. But the fact remains that if he was on another team I'd be really happy to see number 81 hit the ice.
  22. I'm with you, it would defiantly be a hard thing for me hear and not react to if I were in the Habs shoes. The reason I don't think they will let it get to them is because of their leadership. I've seen commentators ask pointed questions or try to stir the waters with Gio and Cammy and each time they have laughed it off. Maybe it's just for show, who knows. Some of the younger Habs would no doubt take issue but I think taking cues from your level headed captain goes a long way in this game. No one will care what Marchand had to say tomorrow. He's only talking smack to get a rise. Especially after last months game, none of the Bruins are in any position to talk about bad on ice practices. Just meaningless squawking before a big game.
  23. I think you'd actually have to be a player in the NHL to have any real idea of how they are perceived around the league. From the outside looking in I'd imagine that they are generally disliked for their skill / speed and fans at the Bell centre, not to mention the sheer amount of Habs jerseys that appear on most road games. The Ole Ole chant, to an opposing team, has got to be the most irritating thing to hear ringing out in their arenas. Times that by 20,000 when they play in Montreal. The players are being paid thousands of dollars + per day to play a game they love and their team is solid this year. Just speculating, but I imagine what the Bruins think about the Canadiens doesn't even factor into their lunch conversations. Petty players who are scared of a loss run their mouths. Even if the Bruins win tonight it makes Marchand and the rest of the Bruins look like whining children.
  24. If asked about Marchand's comments the Canadiens will most likely do the classy thing and laugh it off. Comments like this are just another attempt by the Bruins to sucker the Habs into playing their game. Hopefully our players will not take the bait. We better than that.
  25. I hope that Eller will hit some sort of stride before the end of the season. It's possible that he might be a great player given the time but at this point he hasn't provided much in the way of offense. I don't expect him to be a leading scorer but 5 goals and 8 assists in 61 games is weak seeing that DD, Patch and Wiz have all passed him in points and have played half as many games. Add to that the amount of time he spends in the box and I wouldn't be surprised or upset to hear that management has unloaded him if an opportunity presents itself. He seems to have a great pre NHL track record but if you're not scoring goals or at the very least setting some up and then become one of many reasons your team has to spend 2 mins short handed it seems like there is a problem. Not that his play can't improve, but how long will the Canadiens wait for that to happen? Maybe some time in Hamilton would have done him good.
