  1. Seems quite a run up to the draft! Cool. Sweeney is getting roasted by Bruinsfans they say (Sweeney was my d-partner in minor hockey, so kinda pull for him to do well as GM, but he is/has been darn Bruin forever!)
  2. cant link dlbalr, but was Dom Luszczyszyn's ;"Pick Value Chart" posted by Todd Cordell, CBJ blogger, on hockeybuzz
  3. SO if deal for those 2 devil picks probability of 200nhl games #26 0.40 vs #36- 0.32 & #41- 0.30 seems smart deal for Habs and I assume Devils would want a late pick also?
  4. So Bruins now have picks #14 and 15.
  5. Yes I knew all that. Comment was more for the DD haters, who want to ship him out for a hockey stick or two.
  6. Women's hockey thing was just an analogy, don't remember any worse French BS than have in Montreal, but could be correct and misremember that bit?
  7. 2nd pick for Petry really looks like great value then eh! If a back up so-so goalie demands a 1st pick.
  8. So if he is moved to 2nd line he can likely almost match DD's production eh.
  9. Cutting laces was a Guy LaPointe special long ago. I think is just Markov and his dry wit, not ego related?
  10. Is trade proposal thread and it seems Boston may be gonna do very similar trading Hamilton for 3rd. Dosent mean think any less of Galchenyuk, but more that Strome is very appealing with 129points as 17year old is not-bad (Galchenyuk was similar in OHL, as an 18 yr old though) and wont cost any/little $ on cap this year
  11. Did Sabres give Sens 21st pick for...Lehner? Seems a lot for him isn't it?
  12. No worry, as long as Bettman has USA options like Vegas, QC aint getting a franchise. If Leafs and Bruins folded you would be pleased? Crazy talk!
  13. Pretty weak reasoning not to want a team in Quebec, "Oh my, it would be too tough a schedule!" Pretty lame. You do realize they would be an expansion team and will get their ass kicked for a decade or more, if that makes you feel better. Must love seeing Canadian women's team playing Japan then, always beat them 15-1 or something like that. Very entertaining and riveting stuff, as long as can avoid playing team USA is all good I suppose, dont want to see a competitive match up they might actually lose.
  14. Maybe, but dont think a Sharp will come cheap no matter what and likely just Bergevin doing his due diligence and exploring options.
  15. I assume not much significant has changed in schedule and will play same teams the same amounts?
  16. Bogged down in rivalries? You are joking? Yes fans hate those match ups, maybe can convince Bettman to arrange it so that Habs not play Leafs or Bruins next year? And add in New Jersey & LA instead.
  17. Risk that Strome will be a 20goal scorer his 3rd year in NHL? Pretty slim risk I think.
  18. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/carey-price-sends-condolences-to-family-of-cree-hunters-who-died-in-fire-1.3124692 Nice story of Price reaching out.
  19. Supposedly Bowman & Bergevin are meeting (have met) tonight.
  20. Sorry...why wouldn't Quebec City be a good spot for NHL team? They had some classic battles with Habs.
  21. Hmm...interesting proposal, 3rd pick this year might be darn good, but at least a 1 (if Strome comes in and is rookie of year in 16-17) or 2 year set back.
  22. Realistically seems are a few good options late 1st early to 2nd round: Sprong, Debrusk, Larsson, Kylington, Juulsen, Boeser, J. Roy, Beauvillier, Jack Roslovic, Chabot, Ek, Gurianov, Samsonov, Harkins, Bittner. Dosent seem like Svechnikov can fall all the way to 26, some team with a 2nd first round pick (Oilers, Leafs, Jets, Buffalo) would pick him off at latest. But he seems like a Scherbak-type skilled winger. Boeser, Beauvillier, Roy seem very popular guesses (of course French kids always seem popular target for Montreal to choose), my wildass guess is Kylington. Sprong seems skilled kid, also seems terribly soft floater in little bit I saw of him; but top six or bust kid. Same as Gurianov, big skilled Russian, but signed in KHL already and may be a Grigorenko II, but also could be Nichushkin-type power forward. Seems a risky option. Kylington also another super skating swede d-man, but falling in rankings and has ?? about what he will likely become.
  23. Heard had been several teams inquiring about Sharp but Habs were not one of them. But like someone said maybe as with Vanek, Bergevin made a (somewhat) low-ball offer, just in case Hawks have last minute thoughts of shipping him out before the draft?
  24. Karlsson, Wideman, Weber, Josi, Subban, Doughty would be my ranking for last year.
