Cole has not learned JM's system defensively at this point. His defensive zone coverage is brutal. Just look at the OT goal. He was very good in the offensive zone tonight though.... but he's gonna need better D to get JM's ice time.

Reinprecht is shit... he's in the AHL for Florida and will stay there for Vancouver. Booth is still good, and he makes this trade a major win for Vancouver IMO.

Another good shift for Cole at the end of the period... maybe he's coming around?

We are paying for a guy who scored 22 goals at ES last season. Scoring goals at ES has been a weakness of this team for 2 years. PP has been a strength of this team for a long time, and it will be fine as soon as we get Markov back. Cole is the big forward we want to help us at ES, hopefully he has more plays like that last shift and the pass to Cammy.

Cole is BRUTAL on PPs... he was never acquired to play on the PP. He had 3 goals and 8 pts.on the PP last season, while playing over 225 minutes of PP time. Awful. For comparison Darche had 2 goals and 7 pts in 79 minutes. Cole was acquired to help 5 on 5. AND HOW THE HECK IS THAT NOT GOALIE INTERFERENCE?

I agree with that. Martin and Muller had a good cop/bad cop dynamic. Hopefully Cunneyworth can start to develop the good cop part of that.

The Riders problem was never coaching... its in the GM spot. Eric Tillman was a great GM. He assembled a lot of talent for the Riders. When he left that Talent remained, and they continued to win. Slowly though, the talent left, aged, or otherwise needed to be replaced. Their new management has been unable to find replacements for the guys who have been lost, or who have regressed. Just look how quickly Tillman is building a great team in Edmonton. He has an eye for this game.
