  1. Check that, cammy on 4th line. Must not be 100 percent and using him for pp?
  2. Starting the game cammy is with gomez-gio Pleks, dd lines same as last game. Moen on 4th.
  3. We traded a guy who had shown little in the NHL at that point to acquire Robert Lang, a big, experienced offensive centre which filled a major need. Lets remember how we looked at that 07-08 team and how much hope we had with the additions of Tanguay and Lang over Ryder and Grabovski. Lang was also excellent for us, and was our team's leading scorer on the day he got hurt (into February) more than half way through the season. It was also after that Lang injury that the whole team which was good through January completely fell apart. I wouldn't say we got nothing for it.... it was a deal of an unproven guy with potential to a rebuilding team... in order to acquire the guy we really needed (Lang). His pay is actually cheap for what he provides. I think he's gonna get Cole money in the offseason, from someone if not us. He's good value right now... he has his flaws, but for 3.25 million you really can't ask for much more than what you are getting. I'd love to upgrade him some how, but isn't that true of every member of the team.... ho wouldn't we love to upgrade. I truly believe that the shock of being traded has something to do with helping fix the maturity issues of Sergei and Ribeiro. I don't know if they become the same players if they stay in Montreal and aren't forced to grow up.
  4. Spacek practicing too, but won't play today or saturday.
  5. Cammy coming back is huge... He's absolutely owned fleury for two years.
  6. Someone with mod powers merge the threads... its bad luck to have two game day threads I tell you. Also it sounds like Cammy will play and Palushaj sit. Trying to find new line combos.

  8. For Grabo we got a 2nd round pick (traded to Chicago for Robert Lang) and Greg Pateryn (senior d at Michigan).
  9. Agreed 100% on Gomez. The guy takes a lot of flak from fans, and last year it was deserved. But this year he's playing well... just unlucky results wise right now. I've seen 3 straight good games from him.
  10. The big thing about the injuries is they are all coming in the same spot. Left sided D. Only 1 of our regulars on the Left (Hal Gill) was projected to play there before the season began. Markov, Campoli, and Spacek all being hurt at the same time is really a killer. On forward, its just one guy, so you have to learn and adapt, and I can understand the "everyone has injuries, so there is no excuse" point when it comes to Cammy. I'm in agreement with you there. I just think that when one position is so devastated, that you have basically three rookies in the lineup, plus Gorges playing somewhere he hasn't played in 4 years, its gonna hurt any team. That said, the defence played well last night... in fact the whole team played well. We have to remember that the other team is full of pros who get paid, and are trying to win as well. Last night, Ryan Miller was just better than the Habs. Its really that simple. No one to blame for this loss.
  11. There's something that happens in hockey.... and i don't know why it is, but it always seems true. When a team is hot, they win some games at the end of that hot streak that they probably should have lost. But for some reason they get a break, a penalty call, a hot goalie, something, that gives an extra win or two at the end of the streak. When a team is struggling the opposite occurs. Even when they play well, they don't get that break, they get a bad call against or run into a hot goalie, or a bad bounce happens, and they lose a game they should have won. But what you notice is that if the team that was hot, continues to play that way, eventually a losing streak sets in. And if the team that was struggling, keeps working and playing better, they'll get their share of good bounces and a winning streak will start. I really think that is what is going on here. I note the same phenomenon's in individual players... and in our PP. The PP (at least the pleks-patches-desharnais-subban-weber unit) looked good last night. It just isn't finishing, due to some hot goaltending by Miller. That unit will come around. The second unit.... I don't like Cole on the PP at all, he's not a PP guy, and I don't like AK46 at the point.
  12. Thats the way a lot of our games have gone in the last year or so. And I agree with that assessment in general. It is a pattern, and its definetely someting that is a problem for the Habs. However I didn't see us do that tonight.... this wasn't like the Leaf game where we sleep walked through 40 minutes after the Leafs scored, even our third period we played well, but Buffalo shut it down and when they didn't Miller robbed us.
  13. The way I see it, there are games to blame the loss on the other teams goalie, and there are games where you can't. Reimer played well, but we made him look good with a lot of shots right at him and by not capitalizing and driving for Rebounds. Kipprusoff had a good game, but he didn't steal anything... Calgary outplayed us. Varlamov was average. He didn't steal that game. Tonight.... we had all kinds of great chances and Miller stood on his head. Miller is one of the best goalies in the NHL, not many would dispute that, and tonight he stole 2 points. Again, we do this to fleury and Reimer in our next two games, and we'll be 500 by the end of the weekend.
  14. Miller stole this one, but we won't face Miller every night and he's one of the best goalies in the league. We play like this Thursday and Saturday, we'll be back to 500.
  15. Yeah, and his partner, Gorges, has been our worst D. Who would have thought?
  16. I'm not gonna panic even if we lose.... we've played great tonight. Keep playing this way and the wins will come.
  17. 4-1 Canes final... and Julien ended up tossed too. Bruins actions disgraceful in this one.
  18. Watching the Vanek goal again, AKost has to cover him. How many goals on blown Fwd coverage now?
  19. Bad rebound but Gionta is partially to blame as well. Another example of the Habs forwards not picking up the trailer.
  20. Pleks has to bury that. He screwed that up, not Miller stoning him, he just has to put that upstairs. As for the Ennis call they make that every time when you break the stick.... and they had just missed a trip on Desharnais behind the net 30 seconds before.
  21. Bruins acting like fools again, but Refs are calling them on their bullshit this year. Guess Daddy isn't there to protect them anymore. Chara kicked out, and Horton and Lucic in the box.
  22. Habs need to keep up their intensity because Buffalo will push back now.
